    That headstock looks incredible considering the damage. You did a fantastic job for your first time. This was clearly a trial of patience, and you killed it! What a cool little banger you ended up with, to boot. Keep rocking!

    Excellent salvage of the headstock. 👍I like the fact that the grain is filled, but it still has a matte/satin type finish.

      Agreed. The body is awesome. A buddy of mine in NY had/has an SG that had the same look to it when we were high school.

    Excellent video Keith I’ve always thought about buying a cherry sunburst Les Paul standard off the stratospheres eBay store and building one I found out about Doyle coils Les Paul’s right hand man that builds super legit PAFs and this makes me want to build a sunburst Les Paul even more!

    In some ways, I like the sound of a monolith body better than sculpted. It turned out well. Consider the glew to be part of the personality of the guitar.

      That’s what one of my buddies said as well. It’s part of guitar’s “story” now. That is a very healthy way to look at it.

    Those Seymour Duncans sound great. Why no tunomatic bridge?

    • @TheTapeFarm
      @TheTapeFarm  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LP Specials have wraparound bridges.

      @@TheTapeFarm Saw that it had a wrap around. Is it enough to keep the intonation correct or is this not an issue?

    • @TheTapeFarm
      @TheTapeFarm  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@paullatta oh yeah. Those Gibson Lightning bridges are pretty good. That said I was thinking about putting on a Gotoh adjustable wraparound at some point. But the Gibson bridge is working great.

    I realy enjoy your videos- your telin' it like it is- refreshing amonst guitar channel hyperbole" look at this"-Re the spill: remember-things could be worse - a CA Glued Goatee a much more painful , and much harder repair- !than a headstock !........ BTW .....whose autograph is on the bass?....

    • @TheTapeFarm
      @TheTapeFarm  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      CA fingers is bad enough… goatee!?! 😵‍💫 The autograph is Neal Morse. I bought the bass from him and asked him to sign it for me. I’m a high fan of his.
