Those of you on MPC and not in a daw, Midi loads just like an audio sample. We were not left out on using midi packs. You can take a midi file in and change what is being triggered ie bass, pad, synth ect. You can lengthen, shorten and move any midi note. I had a lot of fun when I first learned MPC utilizes midi super easy. You can also take what ever you create and bounce to audio and create your own audio clips.
Thanks. Very useful tips as always. I'm a new user. I currently work much more in MIDI due to the flexibility but I'm getting used to using Audio more. I've been recording live audio from Vital, playing with the knobs/sliders on my keyboard which are mapped to Vital parameters. I haven't found a good way yet to record all the slider movement into MIDI and get it to do the right thing through Live and back to Vital, though its probably possible. So audio in this case has the advantage of capturing much more of the live performance.
I find that MIDI is more flexible and quicker to work with in the composing phase. Audio can be more flexible in the creative sound design phase. It's great that we don't have to choose one or the other, and that they all work together in your DAW.
I prefer midi because I can always change the sounds to a different sound once you record audio you are stuck with and if you want to change it you got to record it over again so if I want to try a different piano I can go through hundreds of plugins I cannot do that with audio if I want to change the piano sound in audio I got to record another piano over again.
@@EDMProd I mean playback and how your daw reads the data. Audio tends to be easier to process in comparison to midi as midi goes through a vst to produce Audio then onto whatever fx you chose to put that data through. Am I wrong?
Due to my own limits and lack of experience editing and manipulating audio, all my tracks, drums, chords, synth lines are midi before recording them to audio.
This was great. , As a beginner, you gave me a lot of great tips.I would actually love a more in depth video of what you can do with the midi effects and mapping them to the controls.
Glad you enjoyed! I have lots of videos on specific midi effect devices but an overall video on getting started with midi effects is something I'll consider for sure!
This video is really good and should be a staple for anyone getting into a DAW for the first time, or EDM production.
Always excited for another video here!
This was really useful and was something as a beginner I was wondering about. Thanks
Im glad! Thanks for watchin'
thank you, really really well explained!
Big ups!
Well explained Luca. Nice work! Vive La Beats!

Totally! Audio is great for sampling long stretches of audio / a performance, I very much enjoy this technique too
I prefer to work in nidi.but do I need to change my midi tacks to audio for the final mix down?

Much appreciated !
i mainly work with Audio, but is the Ableton Push 2 worth getting and switch my workflow to more of a balance of Audio & Midi? hmmm …
Ableton Push 2 is totally preference-based, I own one and to be honest I hardly use it. But might be worth trying out if you've got the funds

very helpful
Waar moet ik zijn mee te doen in de music

there is also a difference in processing between them
What processing differences are you referring to?

Worth going and experimenting around with it! Its fun too
I like this

you forgot to say that in midi its easier to stay in key audio you must make sure your always in key
Fuck that
Obviously you can get more technical with midi but I will say audio always sounds better.
Laast keer mee mag doen
if you use midi for all your drums i dont trust you lmao
That's me, except for percussion loops. Although I might start putting those in simpler too. #rebel
