Nothing Else Matters is easy for an intermediate-advanced player, but pretty hard for a beginner. Even solos like Californication can be hard for beginners because of the unison bends.
No Potato I'd say there beginner solos, master of puppets or slither solo is like intermediate- advanced player solos. Or the stage solo, I tried it and tapped sweeps are retarded...
Both of those solos you stated are at least advanced. Maybe you're lucky and have a natural talent on guitar, but I'd have to agree with Potato here.
Yea looking back at my comment above is now stupid, master of puppets is crazy and you basically have to be a robot to play the stage. Slither is actually a manageable solo but takes time sitting down with a metronome. My apologies
Nothing Else Matters solo was difficult for me as I consider myself somewhat of a beginner, but after 2 weeks of practice it became second nature to pull off.
It was my first solo on guitar. It's really simple, man.
Maybe they are easy to play, but the compositions are just awesome, because it's not easy to create a solo that express an a idea
Californication, High Dry, Nothing Else Matters and Highway to hell are nice hits in my opinion
tecko morrison agreed too often guitarists lean towards showcasing their skill as opposed to serving the song and improving the overall composition.

Alper Akbay The solo is easier than the riff. It's C, D#, F(repeat 3x) then bend the F to G, then reversed. All on the G string.

I have never consider the coldplay solo as a solo. I have only consider it as a riff. Is is it a solo?... maybe it is..

hah ok. granted ... maybe it is just because it is as simple as a guitar riff. There is nothing more complicated about this then on a typical guitar riff.
It's not a solo at all.. It's a lead part, put definitely not a solo...
Sometimes simple is better than complicated. It's very catchy (even though its "simple") hahha I mean I find myself lost when the solo hits, its awesome.

James Hetfield isn't known for difficult solos, but he can write an emotional one.

Kirk Hammett
James also wrote the solo in their cover of Whiskey in the Jar, and the 1st half of the solo in their instrumental song Suicide and Redemption off of Death Magnetic. He's great at writing a lead/solo with emotion. I could be wrong, but I think the solo on their cover of Turn the Page is also him.
Tyler Dokis James has Metallica’s best solo in my opinion. The one at the middle of To Live Is To Die is his and man everytime I listen to it I get chills.

C'mon, you have to admit that Ibanez RG is a dream.
In Germany you can order a kit and solder a screamer urself for 20 German bucks and it really is good. You can even switch it between the old circuit and modern one

Number 10 is solo is easy. Going from the root E sliding to b, sliding back to E flat. in the vid thou he has his guitar tuned to standard E flat.

I just started playing them, I got Californication down.
Josh XM_Smith use a metronome and slow waaaay the fuck down. it's really easy if you take your time to learn it and dont try to rush things

How do you get such a good tone from Guitar Rig? i get nothing but shit from it.. Would it be because of all the hi gain stuff i play?
When directly recording into an interface is easy to over-do the gain so I have it on somewhere around 5. Also depends on you're pickups but mine are quite hot so I back off the gain a lot. Try that

DI-ing guitars really make it obvious how good or cheap a guitar's pick-ups are since you don't have good amps to make up for it. You're gonna have to do some post processing to get it to sound good. So compressor and some eq

VANNI Its both hard and easy. It’s easy if you just place your fingers at the correct frets in time. It’s hard if you add all the nuanced accenting, bends and mutes in the right spots. The solo is carried by all those nuances rather than fast technical runs. It’s easy to learn but hard to master.

the accompaniment always comes first. it's the soloist's job to play in a way that won't make the listener want to jump off a bridge.

When I was a beginner, the californication solo was so hard to me because of the amount of different notes and sequences. But it feels so simple tho
Californication was my first solo to practise and it's just too nice
where was so far away by Avenged Sevenfold? it easy to play, espicially the first solo

One of my favorite guitar solos to try is from a song called When i was your age, by Weird AL
Nice list. I feel like When the Children Cry by White Lion could've been on here too. The solo for that song is so easy.
