1st I hear a story about Blueblood starving popular musicians for his own amusement, and now a story where he tries to take down his own aunt so he can rule Equestria. If he was real, I would give him a punishment far worse than death, torture Edit: I just watched the whole thing, I like this much better, still horrible, but better than I originally thought from reading the description
Took me a bit to understand Celestia isn't a Changeling herself, just that the Changeling guard serves her faithful. Though I can't be blamed, considering the story picture makes Celestia look like a Changeling being forced to lose control of its form
I haven't listened to this yet but this reminds me of that one fanfic where Celestia is revealed to be a cannibal and eats the griffon empire's ambassador
Hiddentale is Celestia’s secret changeling guard. The “Blueblood changeling” was Hiddentale and Celestia pretended to kill him to hide the fact that the real Blueblood is alive. They kill the real Blueblood at the end.
Oh man, this story left me in a cold sweat! Amazing work everyone who worked on this! Spoilers Below... Okay, so after relistening to this, I don't think Celestia is actually Chrysalis in this story. It sounds like Hidden Tale was just a rogue Changeling who vowed to serve Celestia. He was the one to warn her about the Changeling invasion, so he must have converted to her side before that. Also, if Celestia and Chrysalis were the same pony, why would Hidden Tale worry that Chrysi could have killed Celestia? Besides, we all know that they were in the same place at the same time, so unless the entire invasion was staged as well, (which I highly doubt considering Celestia got her flank thoroughly handed to her) they can't be the same pony. If anything, Hidden Tale's habit of calling her "Queen" is probably just him trying to get out of his old habit of addressing his old ruler, the ruler he used to serve. Celly even reminds him that she is NOT a queen. Writing Celly as the queen is honestly kind of cheap. In this story, instead of being someone else like Hidden Tale, she's actually just a ruler who is willing and capable of doing what she deems necessary for her kingdom. This is truly an engaging concept, as it shows that this Celestia is not just a pretty white princess who can do no wrong. I'd make the argument that this makes her more interesting as a character, as she is still loving and respectful but prepared to do some horrible things for what she sees as the greater good. Personally, this has to be one of my favorite interpretations of Celestia I've ever heard. Cold, but still caring, that's what I want to see in a real monarch character. While we're on the topic, Hidden Tale is a very well written character as well. Not only is he a loyal follower of Celestia despite his origin, but he is just as willing to help her in these cruel acts. He feels very genuine, and that's an accomplishment for any character like him. Hidden Tale had everyone fooled (including all of us!) with his act as BlueBlood, and even as a greedy Changeling. That kind of acting takes skill, so he's clearly very experienced. Despite being just as sinister as the rest of his kind, he's undoubtedly loyal to Celestia. Most vile followers have a StarScream vibe to them, but Hidden Tale is clearly content with his standing beside the princess. That much is evident even before his disguise is burned away. His relationship with Celestia is both chilling and touching. Hidden Tale defected from the rest of his kind to help the princess, and by the sound of it has been on her side for a long time now. So yeah, this story is amazing. Excellent work Wanderer D, and of course everyone involved with this narration. Scribbler and Guti were awesome as always, and Fluffy did a wonderful job as Celestia. Bravo everyone, bravo! *Claps in respect*
Forgive me for interruptung, but I read this and couldn't help but disagree. To me this feels more like Chrysalis than Celestia. Aside from Sombra, Chrysalis is the only one shown to have the 'I'd do anything to keep my people safe' personality. If anything, the end of the fic just feels like a lame attempt at trying to give Celestia flaws. There are a lot of fics that give Celestia perfectly reasonable flaws that make sense to her character, rather than just making her a pony who's willing to kill to protect her people, which has been overdone in itself. It makes her seem more like a tyrant than the kind, compassionate princess we all know and love. This is further exemplified by the abandoning and subsequent leaving to die of her own *nephew.* Especially when she already knows there's nothing he can do to hurt her or her kingdom. Plus, the way hidden tale acted around her screamed Chrysalis, though none of us could see it. And the way she insisted he call her princess at the end screamed Chrysalis. She defeated and replaced Celestia. And the fact that she not only killed him, but didn't shed a tear while doing it is even further proof that this was Chrysalis. I could forgive this if she was Chrysalis. But for Celestia to be so heartless as to *laugh* as her nephew dies is just... Celestia's just not the type to do that. It just feels out of character and completely out of left field for her. Plus, we've already seen her go above and beyond for her people when she killed Sombra. Shes more than willing to do what's necessary already, just not to her family, no matter how distant. It's a lot more fun to see kindness than murder. And as for the cold but caring bit, that in itself is an oxymoron. Cold and caring are complete opposites. If you're cold to someone that means you're being mean to them, which is completely different from caring about someone. If you want an example, take Uther Pendragon from Merlin. He was depicted as cold but caring. But he also was the villain of the show. He not only committed mass genocide, but he was also stubborn, racist, and stuck in the past to an unnatural degree. He was about to kill his son's first and only love because he was convinced she was a witch who had charmed his son. His only redeeming qualities were his love for his son and his country. Now imagine Celestia was like this. Willing to do whatever is necessary for the greater good. She's already killed her only family member so that's out. When Chrysalis attacked Canterlot, she would've started a purge to route out any leftover Changelings, probably killing innocent ponies in the process, she would've been paranoid and suspicious of everyone around her, a prime example of her not caring about her country, causing her to act recklessly and endanger the lives of even more innocent ponies. Do you see where I'm going with this? And then there's the greater good part. What exactly is the greater good? Who decides this? Is Celestia going to be magically forgiven of all her crimes for 'The greater good'? No, and I don't think she should. Frankly, her being a pretty pony princess who can so called "do no wrong" fits her just fine and is much more interesting than watching her bloody her hooves for no reason at all.
If she was chrysy, she would never have treated hidden tale as anything but a servant, she only cares about herself, Celestia would be the kind to care about her servants and talk to them nicely in private, while chrysy would have only insulted them
I knew from the beginning Celestia’s Assistant (somehow I forgot his name oops) was a changeling. Because he kept calling Celestia ‘queen’ and said it was a habit (QUEEN chrysalis) Tho this was a great reading! I loved it!
Could you imagine if he survived using magic. I cant imagine having to hide for family and your own home...perhaps he would turn to dark magic...do i smell a sequel ~?
Another truly outstanding read Scribbler i love it,as always you and everyone else did such an absolutely sensational and terrific job with the making of this fanfic reading make no mistake about it,kudos to all of you.👏👏👏
Me having just listened to "Blueblood's Pets": YEEEAAAHHH DIE BLUEBLOOD DIE!!!! ☠💀 Seriously tho this is an awesome story! That twist was great and it was so well voice acted and narrated! Well done!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Is it possible that celestia found a changeling long before the war of queen crysalis and equestria, and somehow got him to work for her? To be by her side because she had seen the good within this changeling? I mean they did have that long discussion before of how long he had been working in the crystal army and how he felt bad for letting Queen crysalis and her army almost take over equestria, and I mean he did have to call crysalis Queen for a long time, it would be hard to break from that. Plus it would be good to have a changeling for situations like this and she must have seen this since the changeling is now on the side of friendship 😋
You know I don't blame her at all for what she did. She clearly tried other routes, before coming to this decision. She loves and cares for her subjects so much and wants the best for them. But oh boy I was not expecting that twist at the end.
This is beautiful but I have a question that has nothing to do with this but um does anyone know how Celestia has a sister without kids and a love interest.but has a Nephew?I knew in the book she takes Candence as her niece but is it the same with Blueblood or do they have a secret sibling? And or is Luna secretly his mom? I'm curious
Ameriland Kirkjones There’s no real concrete answer to that, but it is somewhat assumed by many that he may be Princess Platnum’s descendant and that her royal family adopted Celestia and Luna to help unite Equestria under them
A year old but I still feel like answering. I think Luna and Celestia were born the way they were and, either he was just their teacher or in a way their parent, Starswirl the Bearded took care of them (or was simply the teacher) others like Candence and Blue Blood were 'adopted' in a sense so the titles Nephew and Niece are more out of endearment than actual blood relation; like how a child might call their parents long tern friend Auntie or Uncle
As much as I normally complain about these kind of stories of Celestia have anything evil about her, because this is happening to Blueblood who was a doughe anyway, I'll let it pass. Along with that that as least Celestia was doing this for a greater good sort've thing.
Okay… as amazing as this story was, I thought the title of this story based on the thumbnail font was “Brexit” and I was like, “…excuse me WHAAAAAT?” (Also that ENDING… WOAH.)

What a twist
@@WandererD Do you have more? Or a sequel? This was excellent!
That was a really good story. That was brutal. It's not nice to mess with the princess.
Sunbutt allying herself with a Changeling to reveal a complot against her....... clever girl, kudos to you Scribble,
I loved that "Queen" foreshadowing near the beginning. It really made the ending that much more impactful.
Moral of the story, don't piss off the sun goddess pony. :I
Duraganthelion so true
I think it would have been far worse if it was Luna that had dealt with him.
Thank you for having me as Celestia! This was a fun project to voice. :)

Also great comic dub.
