Your body feels the feelings of things when it’s described well enough. It makes your brain think of you in those scenarios. Ever felt strange feelings on where people are hurt inside of stories? Or ever felt that gross feeling when something gross happens. It’s like that where your brain is making you believe yourself to be itchy. Either way us humans are naturally very itchy creatures. Like monkeys or gorillas.
This popped up randomly in my recommended and somehow I managed to get jumpscared by the thumbnail the first time, which is honestly funny, cause that's not even the scariest image of Twilight I've ever seen lmao. I haven't even watched the video itself, but I've looked through the comments and found out the context of the story, and I am NOPING out of here because spiders freak me out. I think I'll stick with Somno Captis or the Rocket to Insanity dubs this Halloween as I love both of those videos.
Frankly i was shouting at Twilight after she lied to Spike for the second time, how can you be convinced you've got spiders in you to the point they're shutting off your magic and not even try to get fresh air at the BARE minimum?
On one hand, it's easy to write all of this off as entirely imagined, given the lack of evidence for all the insanity at the end. But on the other hand, I find myself thinking back to the old 'Spider Bite' urban legend, about the girl with a clutch of spider eggs laid under her cheek, or the SCP shadow spiders that are only visible in shadow but feel just as real as anything else. Goodness knows what kind of spider-like horrors a place like Equestria could hold domain to. But of course, that might just be me liking things more literal than insanity based lol.
So I did a little research on my own because I'm morbidly curious about these things and this is a real thing. Its called Tactile Hallucinations or Formication. Its a symptome of a ton of different things including depression or Liver Failure. Can also come from drug use and/or withdrawals. Its facinating if not terrifying. Also reading about it and listening to this made me pretty damn itchy. It's psychosomatic for sure but wanted to share anyway

I have got to say, it seems like twilight in this story is kind of dumb, if I had this itch that was so bad I felt like it was inside me and it made me consider tearing my own skin off, then I’m telling someone and calling a doctor as soon as possible, I’m not chalking up to my “imagination” and keeping it to myself, especially when it only stops when someone is in the same vicinity as you, which hints that it may have a mental-related origin, which is only an even brighter red flag.
For someone who is petrified of spiders and hates the way they move and look, this story was nightmare fuel for me to the highest degree. The "a tiny dark spider fell out of Twilight's mane," line sent chills into my spine and I audibly shouted, "oh God no! Please No!" Lol. Both during and after the reading every little itch I got sent me into a paranoid frenzy lol. Spooky and so very messed up lol, awesome narration as usual Ms. Scribbler.
