I was issued one when I was in Germany from 81 - 83. Loved the thing. Simple and effective. Not for any distance. I think we qualified out to 75 yards.

That looks like a lot of fun. I have never fired full auto. I have watched others but never was invited to try it. It can get expensive in a hurry.

Thanks for the quick rundown on the gun before you guys shot it. I've seen these around but I'm not an expert by any means on guns or world war II guns so I learned a lot more in this video than I have anywhere else about it. Quick and concise.

The maker of the M3 and the M3A1 submachine gun was Guidelamp, a division of General Motors. It was in .45 ACP and was to take the place of the more costly M1 and M1A1 submachine guns.

Great fun video. We were using grease gun in Germany in the 1980s. We had hundreds of them in the armory, after east Germany fell, they disappeared. Just wonder where they all went to.

I do family history research and my great granduncle (who passed in 1989 before I was born) served with the 10th Mountain in WW2. I found a book about his company written by Hugh Evans (silver star recipient) and John Imbrie, who also served in the same company. There were recollections from various members in the company and one mentioned my granduncles M3A1 malfunctioning in camp and taking the finger of a fellow soldier. Although it was an unfortunate reference, I was able to learn that’s what he carried. RIP T SGT Cusano
