    Wainwrights Coast to Coast - 2022
    =============================
    At the end of May 2022 I challenged myself to take on the Wainwrights Coast to Coast walk. This is a 192 mile walk starting on the West Coast at St.Bees travelling through the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors to finally arrive in Robin Hoods Bay.
    We woke at the start of Day 2 overlooking the lovely Ennerdale Water. We had a great pitch right by the water although plenty of midge attacking us a night but had disappeared by morning. We left the lake around 8am and started our hike past Robin Hoods Seat and along the lake and tracks to Black Sail hut for a much needed coffee.
    After this we had the steep climb up to the top of the fells before a long stretch to Honister Slate Mine. I have to admit my feet were aching at this point and I had no energy after hardly eating the last 2 days. As you can see from thumbnail, had a lay down on Nicola, some food (rocky road, crisps, sausage barm and a coke, and found my 2nd wind.
    After this Nicola and I also met up with a couple of other lads we'd met on Day 1 and we all headed to Stonethwaite for a camp by the river which was great.
    Stay tuned for Day 3 tomorrow as all the videos will be released daily at 7pm for this series.
    If you would like to know more about the walk or have any questions with the route, the gear or anything else then please do drop a comment below and I will be sure to reply. If you can also like the video and subscribe this would really help my channel and you will be the first to see new videos.
    Thanks for taking the time to check out the video.

      Totally agree. I think with hikes like this with lots of other people doing it too it’s good to mix it up and hit some camp sites too. Not only so you can freshen up, but it’s the key time to meet other people who are doing the hike too and make new friends and memories. Have to say that was one of the best things about this adventure as made some good new friends too.

      Best of luck and really hope you get the weather like I did. Are you carrying your own gear or have you secured accommodation?

      Haha true! I didn’t film it but I met Iain packing up the tent, he recognised me from the Group. Then literally just past Robin Hoods Chair I heard someone shouting for help no joke. It was Mark! He’s gone the wrong way and had to climb up the front with his massive bag 😂. That’s how I met them both.

    Great video! How did you navigate the trails?

    • @krisgleave

      I had the A-Z Coast to Coast book which is really hard to get hold of at the moment. From that I manually plotted the whole route on OS Maps and transferred that to my Garmin 6X Pro watch. Basically I used the watch solely for the whole navigation and it was perfect. Took the A-Z too just in case.
