This is a fu*king masterpiece. She caught feeling so left the party, hit some parkour, hard salsa, AND Martial Arts? In her bustier jeans combo culminating with catching a plane ON FOOT?! Wow, shooketh.
This literally took me forever to figure out this song. I kept replaying the video in my head but never knew the words or singer. Thank God for TH-cam lol
I remember listening to this song a few years ago on the radio in a store and couldn't figure out who it was. It was killing me for a while what the same of the song was until I forgot about it. Now I ran into this song again. Yes, thank God for TH-cam now I know who it is.
osimeon00 yeah exactly I've done that a few times..but person said they"never knew the the words or singer". lolz if you're on TH-cam...you're watching similar videos from an era...you will see other songs that you may have forgotten in the sidebar.
I only remembered the video and not the song, i was trying to figure out how the song sounded because i knew it was a hit and than i heard it on the radio.
Walking in a Macys in Schaumburg Illinois and heard this song being played in store on Saturday 9/17. Brought me here cause I remember how much I like the song back in the day. Some songs are timeless. You could play this on the radio and not realize it was released 20 plus years ago.
This sounds soo different then songs from the 80’s, But that’s a good thing because it still sounds great unlike songs these day’s wich just sounds dummy.
This is one of my daughter's favorite songs and she is 8 years old. Jaya mommy and daddy Love You So Much. It melts my heart seeing you singing and dancing to this song.
Tabitha S. Same here... looking back at these songs, it's amazing how much they shaped my life and allowed me to realize in an all black town that there was more than just rap.
The timing and pauses between lines are amazing. The verses aren't in groups of four lines, but the lyrics are written so they end when they should. I love the video. So many videos go back and forth between scenes. This video was made like it could have happened continuously. I love the way she sings "yeah yeah yeah yeah" so quickly that people may not notice it. If I could only hear one singer sing one word for the rest of my life, it would be her singing "yeah." A year or two ago, she restarted singing, and she posts on Instagram.
OMG, this brings back memories. First time I saw this as a kid I was obsessed. Stuck in a blank VHS to record it next time the Disney Channel played it. I wanted an outfit just like hers, but I was too young.
Back when this was released in 2000 the world was soo much different. The world was not run by twitter, facebook and reddit. We could go on Planes without having to get strip searched before boarding. MTv and the Box was where we listened to our fave music and text mesaing was all the rage. Good times man..
This was track 1 and the 1st single from Samantha's only album "Gotta Tell You" and was the 1st song I learned by this super cool singer and dancer. This is a real 2000 party song right here. This was also track 2 from the "Now That's What I Call Music! 6" CD.
Please don't say that!! They're only similar because of how pop music/ singers were back then, she's actually better, and came out before Britney!! She made a statement back in the day about how she despises that comparison lol!
+Demetrice Smith She was running to get on that plane & get the hell out of there! She must've lived in small town Whiteville, NC like me! ;) ha ha ha (I'd have done the same) LOL
I don't wanna be "that person on the YT comments who thinks music from the past was better" BUT music from 80s-90s and early 00s makes me so happy. It always makes me want to dance like there's no tomorrow! Always cheers me up :)
I miss her music so much! Got to meet her when she did the concert in Disney World with Aaron Carter & she was SOOOOOO sweet!! I miss this type of pop music!
I love this song because my daughter loves it. She wasn't burn until six years after and we listen and play this song like it came out yesterday. Lol! I also love the fact she got to show her range on the bridge at 2:23 good Production on this song and good writing. Kudos to Samantha and her team.
Don't wanna love you, if you don't love me Don't wanna need you, when won't need me too Don't wanna tell you this now but it wouldn't be right if I... Didn't tell this tonight
Jenny Snaps in the 90’s there were times that i had an alternating on/off love with someone because i was a fool to contstandly break it off , not realizing that she was actually the only one who loved me and that i couldn’t get better, but i was just so foolish enough to even try to not love her, i didn’t even worry about losing her because i was sooo convinced that she would alway’s love me,i knew i had her as an reserve key in my pocket just in case,so i was looking for a better one , but then i decided to give up and only accept her as my girlfriend for good,i did said my sorry to her ,i did gave my world to her ,i told her that that no one could ever match or will ever care about us because we both were pestered on school, Everything seemed to be just so fine,i tryed to be strong to not lose her and that she would only belong to me but,,, On one day in 2001 ,she called me on the phone and she said the unthinkible, that her love with me becames just an confusion and so it turned out that she not in love on me anymore, since then my world collapsed just when i learned from my mistakes. The wounds are still there and alway’s will,it’s so hearth breaking how things can go soo wrong at the end, ouch.
awesome video!! definitely has elements of "think of you" - continual travelling shots "escapade" - dancers/ energy/ colour "runaway" - wire work/ stunts/ airplane/ sunshine "miss u much" - chair sequence "poetic justice" - braids! "you want this" - lazy friends & boys vs. girls "if" - routines/ strings .... sooooo janet.. but i love it.. and i miss this kind of pop princess.. and i need to go listen to the whole "baby, come over" album right away! x
Michelle Fisher this song is timeless , i can’t believe this song is already 18 years old ,because even in 2000, songs from the 80’s sounded sooo different & retro ,but this song still sounds hyper modern, it’s so strange how time flies by sooo fast since 2000.
OMG I freaking loved this song and this video when I was younger. I remember they used to show the concert with her and Aaron Carter .That was when Disney channel was the SHIT !!!!! I still love you Samantha Mumba !!!!

It's crazy how big Britney's influence was back in the day. This singing style become really popular after she came about. Great song, brings back so many memories.
this used to be one of my favorite childhood songs of all time, i forgot the title of the song and the name of the artist, so it toke me like 2 years to find it. this song brings back so many memories. so glad i found it.

I saw this video once when I was a kid but completely forgot it. So glad I rediscovered it and now I can fully experience it. Wish she was more popular I would've loved listening to a black pop star while I was growing up.
She is really beautiful. I remember her from the movie "The Time Machine" back in 2002. Thanks Samantha for the lovely songs and for the timeless movie.
well the good news is samantha mumba is strongly linked to be in the selection process for ireland this year for eurovision. i hope its true. i still think shes fantastic
OMG! I've been trying to figure out the name of this song! When I first saw this music video when I was 5 I was actually arguing with myself trying to figure out if I liked this video or not haha. Anyways when I was done I realized I felt alone at my Aunt's house because she was nowhere to be seen, so I started crying and ran to my house, 5 houses away. Since then I never knew the name of this song in search of this music video. Thanks to a top 10 video I've finally found this video.

This song is SO early 2000's
And that's good.

Yup this is the sound of the early 2000s
This sounds soo different then songs from the 80’s,
But that’s a good thing because it still sounds great unlike songs these day’s wich just sounds dummy.
Could be mid-late 90s sound. As soon as I heard this song, I thought it fit late 90s Britney Spears. :P
She deserved to have more hits.
Lesbian
I read "more tits". Sorry.

OMG, this brings back memories. First time I saw this as a kid I was obsessed. Stuck in a blank VHS to record it next time the Disney Channel played it. I wanted an outfit just like hers, but I was too young.
I did the same thing
I like a lot of the early 2000s pop and rock
I would tape my favorite music
I was obsessed with this outfit for ages! Asked my mum to make me a pink bustier for years and she did! Plus jeans with matching pink pockets!
sumoni me too LOL to all of the above you just stated LMAO :-) totally brings back memories!

Okay, so Britney Spears sings in Samantha Mumba's style :)
