    Just curious, maybe it's just what you show us on camera, but do you always escort the dogs outside? I get it at the old house, but this is a fenced yard now. Do you ever just let them out alone? If not, why? Not hating/attacking, just wondering. Love the vlogs. Be safe!

    I'm a trucker in Europe and I drive a 6x2 taglift with triple axle trailer. Both the front and the back axle on the trailer can be lifted or lowered from the cabin. So with no or very little load 3 of the 6 axles are lifted. Sometimes when i'm in a tight spot I lower the front trailer axle because that helps a bit with the turning radius. In the winter when empty I sometimes drive with the rear trailer axle lowered because it's slightly more weight on the drives.
    Also while I have 6 axles I only have 14 wheels total while in North America with 6 axles you would usually have 20 wheels. Most semitrailers in Europe are triple axle with 6 wheels in total...

    A 3rd reason (at least a reason when the axle is up) is it saves you money going through tolls. I don't know about up there but in the U.S we have tolls that charge by the axle. So having that axle means you don't have to pay for it. Watched a video of another trucking youtuber and he went from $20.00 to $15.00 for having his lift axle up on a spread axle flatbed

    • @bigtrucker26
      @bigtrucker26 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      drop axles use 2 sets of airbags... the main load carrying bags, and the axle lift bags. generally the axle lift bags have a set pressure, to securely carry the axle. the main load bags, can either be connected to the main suspension valve for pressure, or run (more commonly) a preset air pressure to max axle capacity. Most of the drop axle trailers I have run, are switched electrically from a switch in the cab. Some are automatic, based on suspension load. and some are, as seen in this video, switched on the trailer.
      all lift axles, are set so that Either the Load bags, or the Lift bags, are supplied with pressure, not both, and the other bags are vented, to stay deflated. So, the load bags are deflated when the lift bags are inflated, and the lift bags are deflated when the load bags are inflated. As long as you don't overload the truck, no bag should ever be beyond it's designed load capacity (assuming you are using the correct air bags). You may have noticed that the lift bags are far smaller diameter than the load bags, this is because their ONLY duty, is to lift the axle off the ground and hold it tight to the chassis.

      @@bigtrucker26 he turn nob to lift axle back up, didn’t seem to lift it as high

    • @bigtrucker26
      @bigtrucker26 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bighands675 I'm pretty sure he was dropping the trailer, and had cut off the air to the trailer. This would have reduced the air pressure considerably as first it tried to fill the load bags, then it tried to fill not only the lift bags, but also repressurize the non lift axle air bags, which would have bled off pressure when the drop axle started to take some of the load off them.... While there are air tanks on trailers, for a reserve, that is a lot of air use to fill airbags... Likely the pressure of the trailer reserve had gotten too low to fully raise the axle.

    • @bighands675

    • @bigtrucker26

      @@bighands675 basically, I don't think the trailer was still being supplied with air pressure by the truck, so, it was losing capability every time it was doing something...
