    I wonder if the fact that it has a progressive suspension (gradually building resistance as it's loaded with pressure) is meant to compensate for it's lack of travel I imagine you could set this up as a super stiff ride fairly easily for bigger drops and not have to worry about bottoming out as much

      @WheelGoodTime  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, That does seem to be the case. I may have unintentionally overstated the suspension travel gripe, There really doesn't appear to be anything major wrong with it. I just believe that for something marketed as a trail wheel specifically, it should have further travel distance capability.

    • @0Ninja0Dude0

      @@WheelGoodTime yeah Im not an expert on the subject so idk. It could be something like that extra 40cm being enough to cause rebounding from a highly tensioned spring at the end of it's travel causes the EUC to turn into a catapult but I'm just using my imagination here tho😅
      I do wish I could see some better pictures of the thing without its plastic panels I'd like to know where the majority of the mass is, if there's pieces in high impact points that could be prone to getting bent/broken and will the plastic fairings be enough to hold up to prevent that.
      I would like to see some fiberglass shells become standard accessories for these things.
      I wear a helmet to protect my meaty computational bit i believe it should as well.
      One way or another I suppose the thing should sell well as long as its not cutting out or burning people's houses down those tend to be the sort of things people hold onto

    My guess is with they want the off-road wheels to look kind of like a dirt bike. Plastic might look dingy but it looks like it comes off with the batteries. I have a v12 with almost 3000 miles and the thing is bullet proof so I’ll still have a tough time justifying the adventure but personally I wouldn’t put my money anywhere else but InMotion

    I only ordered it because the V11 requires tools just to change the suspension air and I can't get to the tire's bent valve to place air in it. This one looks like those issues are eliminated.

    I would pre-order the v14 right now... but it's 70 kph max speed doesn't offer enough headroom 😢 Make it 80+ and I'm sold! most riders on online forums seem to agree 70 for headroom reasons isn't enough.
    Patton, extreme, command mini etc all do 80+

    • @theelectronomer2319
      @theelectronomer2319 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      For sure. Safety is something they did best. And don't forget - in a way, their progressive shock should make up for the 85mm of suspension travel. IN THEORY.

    • @sammysokosammysoko
      @sammysokosammysoko ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I mean, a full meter dead drop with a 200lb rider won't bottom it out, so what are you concerned about? The spring isn't linear, and instead of focusing on an improvement that will (and SHOULD) likely become the industry standard, people want to complain about something that the change obviously is made to address (suspension travel) not being enough.
      Enough for WHAT? How far do you normally dead-drop when riding? How many other suspension wheels can drop straight down that far with 200lbs on it without bottoming out? MAYBE one, and certainly not many that have "more travel."

    • @theelectronomer2319
      @theelectronomer2319 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@sammysokosammysoko Exactly what I was thinking! Chooch rode his Begode Extreme in his first TH-cam video of that wheel, and even though the Extreme has a full 120mm (or something like that) of suspension travel, he said it was still bottoming out with the slightest bumps downhill - meaning nothing major for the wheel to handle! If this is the first progressive shock in the industry, it ought to be crazy good. If the marketing department of the Inmotion Adventure is true to their words, there is literally nothing that comes even close to this.
      Though, the only confusion I have for the progressive shock is why the spring constant is lower near the top of the progressive shock and not the other way around.
      Still, it should do the flipping job.

  • @BruceWayne15325
    @BruceWayne15325 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'm cautiously optimistic about this wheel. The things that get me really excited are the fact that they are actively trying to make this EUC easy to maintain. It's insane how hard it is to change a battery or tire in most other EUC's. I also like that they are returning to smaller wheels. Those of us that use EUC's for commuting have been sorely lacking in good options with high levels of waterproofing. The IPX6 rating is awesome, and will make all-weather commuting a much less worrisome experience.
    I totally agree with a lot of the downsides. The amount of plastic is disconcerting. The V11 is known to shatter into a billion pieces in high speed crashes, and I worry that an even more capable wheel like this would do even worse. I would loved to have seen a more tanky casing like the Patton. The suspension travel doesn't bother me too much because I'd use it for commuting, and if I wanted to use it for off-road I could get an after-market shock, but I agree it's goofy that it doesn't come with better suspension out of the box. The early bird pricing is great for this EUC I think. I wouldn't pay $4k, but $3k is a fair price for sure.

    • @Blox117
      @Blox117 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @BruceWayne15325
      @BruceWayne15325 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Blox117 I can only hope the lower prices are an indication of the direction EUC's are headed. I can't see myself ever dolling out $4k for an EUC or scooter. Most of the $4k scooters don't sell, and I'm guessing the EUC's aren't much different, so maybe the companies are realizing that $2-3k is the limit.

    • @grb1969
      @grb1969 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Blox117 we’ve all got to remember the 25% tariffs placed on electronics from China during the last administration, and continued through now. So, even with deceased sales volume, the innovation coming from all manufacturers is fair. KS took (on average) $500 off the price of their suspension wheels by removing quality and giving us lights and speakers instead of quality; and although I think sales will be slightly boosted by their clownish wheels, this design will ultimately betray serious enthusiasts and poison the KS brand for years to come.
      Without tariffs, the $3300 Adventure could possibly cost about $2650 without harming profit margins, and sales might increase slightly. This means that the wholesale cost from the manufacturer (including profits) is about $1350, which could be as little as $700 for materials and labor. (Assuming standard markups). It’s for this reason why we see low quality air shocks on Begode’s wheels and either hydraulic suspension or linkage suspension but not both. Also, accessories like pads, pedals, fairings, speakers and seats are supplied with the barely acceptable options (like cast pedals without removable spikes), and these cheaper items help keep costs lower, as most people tend to customize and upgrade to aftermarket parts as much as possible.
      A $3300 IM Adventure could easily exceed $4k with E-rides pedals, a FOX shock or an improved FastAce hydraulic struts, etc.
      I’m all for lower priced EUCs, and I think it’s possible once the mass market develops for PEVs. But, for now, imagine making a machine that costs the maker only $700 to create, then some wannabe Empire adds another $650 in pre-sales tax just to screw your margins.
      Personally, I’m only buying used wheels until the war ends, which are a great value when compared to the price of new. Otherwise, if we want lower prices, we got to protest unjust sanctions against all countries… and maybe start manufacturing EUCs domestically.

    • @cbpuzzle
      @cbpuzzle ปีที่แล้ว

    The shorter suspension travel will make the wheel a better option for people looking to travel very quickly down hard pack/gravel roads and with the progressive spring will keep the tire in contact with the ground better than their competitors on those surfaces... in theory anyway. Probably not as good of an option on bumpy/root covered offroad/downhill trails but the 200mm eye to eye setup will allow people to easily swap their suspension to something that matches their riding style/terrain preference and that's a good thing. Eco friendly renewable non-metal is what exactly Inmotion? Did they make this thing outta wood?

    I get its IM interpretation of what offroad suspension should be & that 85mm travel is enough. Maybe but me, I look at other forms of offroad vehicles ie. MTBs, enduro/MX bikes, Jeep types & specialized offroad racing types. Not one touts less suspension travel as a virtue. Indeed all them puahes the opposite. The Extreme has 135mm so its gonna fun to compare both when properly setup for the rider ofcos. I must say the quick disconnect batt packs seems good but then BGs modular batt packs arent exactly difficult to remove either. I do have major concerns with the 70kmh speed limit which seems pretty dumb to me. Speed limits are already available via app so factory preset seems redundant & excessively limiting. Def a big YMMV. Wont comment on looks & other such til its out. But pricing is also gonna be a huge factor. Me, I'm likely gonna be in the Extreme camp for a variety of reasons, not least being that I can purchase for close to 1k less. Say what we want but price is a big deal

      After posting this video I discovered that in motion is also extending their factory warranty to two years, but 18 months for the battery packs. Unfortunately now I can't find the source where I found that information 🤣 But that does definitely add significantly to its value and being worth the price. Still I can't justify more than $3300 even with an extended warranty like that. Thanks for your insight!!

      @@WheelGoodTime Agreed, maybe 😅. Easy to make paper promises but we'll see when owners spank them hard offroad. There's gonna be plenty dumps & crashes. We'll see how good IM 2yr warranty is. If its fully warrantied with zero issues with claims, then ya, the extra $$$ might be worth it. Until then, all we have is big claims. As in all things, the devil lies in the details esp with insurance of which warranties are.

    Dude, in all fairness this is the first video I've seen of yours. I gotta say though it seems rather biased in that you complained about everything about the wheel and then said lets get into the not so good things about the wheel hahahaha. Considering the offerings from the other companies so far, your definitely going to be in the minority on your feelings about this wheel. When your posting a snippet of Chooch and his crash, I already figured where this video was going.

    • @WheelGoodTime
      @WheelGoodTime  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your input. I feel like this wheel has a lot of potential, but I also believe they missed the mark in other ways. IM has a very good way of marketing, and conveniently glossing over their not-so-good aspects, or lying about their wheels, such as potential range and waterproof ratings. Again, this may be the most powerful 16" euc ever. But I have to treat them fairly when they miss the mark too, just as I have treated other EUC companies fairly and excposed issues with their wheels as well.

    Glad I have an extreme which with its all metal cnc build is far more durable than the v14 (really needed for offroad dedicated wheels especially) that has a lot of plastic in its build, has much longer suspension travel (full 130mm with air shock- just get a third party 200mm spring to take full advantage of full 130mm with coil shock like I did), isn't speed capped at only 43mph and with its low cog and wider 3" rim the extreme probably is more stable/ planted and has more agility (due to low cog)..extreme has better pedals too and better value for money, especially when purchased from Next Gen Mobility..I like that my extreme has a seat too..the modular begode design doesn't make it hard to remove the batteries for shipping on the extreme anyway.. many who had their extremes air shipped had the batteries sent separately so why can't they do the same if they want to fly somewhere with their extreme too? Think it's questionable why inmotion haven't yet disclosed what voltage it runs at.. anything less than 134v these days is a deal breaker too for me

    • @WheelGoodTime
      @WheelGoodTime  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They later disclosed that it'll be 134v :) I agree with your points. The Adventure might be an outstanding performer but I see a lot of drawbacks to it that make it hard to justify their asking price in my opinion.

  • @pacochawa2746
    @pacochawa2746 ปีที่แล้ว

    Many very good points. Some are slamming the extreme suspension yet I am suspecting they had improper suspension. Everybody is persuing the coil suspension yet the air suspension on the extreme has the least reported issues. I want to like inmotion because of their waterproof and safety. Eucs are all about speed though. Ya adventure is ugly, the extreme does look nicer yet they are very similar. V13 suspension wasnt all that either and the seat was not standard. I can only judge for myself by riding the wheels myself. Very promissing direction though for eucs as a whole.

      I believe them for the most part - and they did an incredible job with their marketing for this launch. We just need to read between the lines to see if the hype is justified. 😊 I think it has potential to be a great wheel, as long as the price never ever exceeds $3300 USD lol

    An 8 volt difference is a big deal eh... you clearly have not tried the Patton and the Extreme (spoiler: the 126v wheel has more torque). I get that you and your 130mm suspension are just trying to make content but a bit more research and/or avoiding the topics you don't know anything about would serve you well

    • @WheelGoodTime
      @WheelGoodTime  ปีที่แล้ว

      The 8 volt difference is a big deal, but it's pretty apparent that LK hit a home run with the power that they were able to extract from the Patton. I'm aware that the Patton had more torque, prior to the Extreme's 350a max phase current firmware update. I'd like to try both side by side but I'm unable to do so right now. I stand by my stance about being disappointed in the adventure's suspension travel distance. 85mm suspension is also a big deal compared to 130mm, considering the adventure is marketed as a trail wheel. Thanks for the feedback!

    Its wrong of you to use chooch as an example of a customer who purposely over speeds a wheel to then blame the equipment, begode obviously dont know what they are doing design/QC wise or his wheel wouldn't have been indicating low batt within 10 mins of being fully charged which caused a premature cutout far earlier than could be expected, chooch is no fool and has a lot of experience on euc he knows how to back off when he hears the beeps to avoid a cutout on a wheel which functions properly. What about martys broken leg? Is that another guy just blaming begode when it was actually the rider pushing the wheel too hard?? Of course not.. the problem with this chinese rubbish is that owners are putting their bodies on the line and relying on the cheep chinese electronics/batteries/build quality to keep the wheel upright. On an ebike or escooter if it quits you just roll to a stop. An euc is even more critical than an aircraft, if the power system has a gitch nothing will save you. You go down like a bag of shit. Even a helicopter can autorotate in the event of a power failure but eucs are completely reliant on the motor.

    • @WheelGoodTime
      @WheelGoodTime  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd like to see myself as even-handed in my criticism or praise of Begode - I publicly offered my thoughts and criticism of the A2 after the blown board incident, and since we still don't know still exactly why the A2 cut out and broke Marty's ankle, I rescinded my recommendation for that wheel. As far as the extreme cutout is concerned: after much discussion and analysis, he was going far faster than claimed and it was user error rather than equipment failure. That said, I passed up a recommendation to Begode to increase the default PWM safety margin an extra 5-10% via firmware update, to prevent this sort of awful incident from happening again.
