THANK YOU GEORGE! I have been watching your videos for about a month now. I think I'm ready to build my own pot still with a PID controler. Thank you for your lessons! I always get excited when you have a new video out.
I just finished testing my controller and it worked perfectly. You are a great teacher. I boiled water thru my distiller for about 1/2 an hour. Everything went great. I had a hard time finding the fan power supply and substituted a 24v fan and power supply instead. Had to rearrange a few things to make the power supply fit but turned out fine. Thanks again.
George! Part man... part machine. Watch in amazement as he constructs digital controllers, yet he so easily mashes. Behold the man, the myth... the LEGEND.....
George a great alternative to an N C router is an XY table on a cheap Harbor freight drill press. You just modify the depth stop to hold the head down, slap in a bit, and you are cutting shapes.
Great thanks to you George I finally built my first Pid controller rex c100 model and tested it and worked fine just with a big urn. Mine was already pre configured i guess. I also bought a 45lt urn witch im going to convert into a boiler for my 600mm reflux column I built years ago. Happy distilling and all the best sir.
Looking forward to part 2 I use the STC1000 on my brew fridge works a treat have another STC1000 that needs to be wired up for a second fermenter fridge I recently was given, the perils & fun of home brew love ya work George thanks for sharing! Cheers :)
i'd say messure once cut twice lol , blow out on top heat rises hottes air out logic , dust gets blown away ,help your ventilator keeping it cool {enengy savings )
George Great video as usual Thanks for sharing your PID build with us. If your doing multiple builds and want to make your cut outs faster you might want to build yourself a Pantograph and mount one of your Dremels or a small router onto it. Will make the cutout accurate and fairly fast. Cheers Pete
i am an hvac tech and want to start brewing my own whiskey etc went on eby it was overwhelming of stills they sell. I just want to make good and safe whiskey do you have recipe book thanks from don
George I just watched and commented on one of your older PID build videos asking about fusing these PID boxes. I figured I would ask here sense this is a much newer video. How do you feel about adding fuses to these boxes to protect certain areas. I really don't want to add them but I have in the past building LED grow light and other stuff. I know the fuse is really fast but I am not sure it needs it and obviously you don't think so. Could you elaborate on the absent of fuses in your project boxes. Thanks for your help and I really love your videos.
One thing to note, the vent holes here are excessive. They only need to match the area of the blades of the fan, the centre of the fan doesn't move air. One of those holes you drilled for the vent would be enough. Two to be sure.
Hey George I would like to buy one of them from you If you still make them. I have emailed you a couple of times it is the holidays. Do you still sell them?
@mpalmo I used this one to wire up my TC (12mm aviation connector): www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07V554X78 Red to pin 1 and Blue to pin 2 Hope this helps.
Hey George love the channel. My boiler uses two 5500w elements. From watching this series, I'm guessing I need separate pid's and ssr's to control each element? Is there a way to have one device(pid?) control both elements? Thanks and thanks.
I love your videos George! LOL!! Dat ain't it! Dat ain't it! Another one is the can of tomato paste. Can I use it again? Public schools are not completly to blame. (Well maybe somewhat) Intelligent people are not having as many children as, well, other people. I saw somewhere on the web that we could cripple an entire generation by writing in cursive and selling only manual shift cars. Ha Ha! BTW I am 1959 vintage as well. You da man George!! JMHO.

It's a caliper. Fantastic videos. Learning a lot, even if I do have to come back and watch them again a few times.

I love the channel George. I would love to watch you do a step by step poor man pot still with a thumper.

Thanks. I need to look into that. Harbor freight is my toy store

I just love watching you build this stuff,, I am waiting for more of a complete detailed build of the audio projects you have done,, Happy Distilling

Fantastic!
You seem to be the person to build a 220 set up for my fridge smoker build
this is the best channel on the planet in the moment! :)

Haha love your explanation of hydrometer you made my night love it
George, I love your videos. Very informative. I am going to build up a controller like this but would like a parts list. Do you have one somewhere?
I like your Dermel tools set up!
Advice please George - where would you mount an on/off switch (for the heater) in the circuit ?
Great video can't wait to see the next one
Thanks George, demystify another thing.
Show'em how its done George!
What is better pid or scr? I have a pid but have heart the scr is better and holds temp better
Which transformer are you using for the cooling fan with the 220 setup 🤔
Hi George, I don't know if anyone said it already, but it's called a caliper!
Thank you for the great videos. Where can I get I list of parts for the PID controller? Hope to see you back very soon!
George you Rock, if my heating element only reaches to the center of the pot should I change for a longer one? will it matter that much?
I have been trying to get a hold of you on building a PID for my powder coat oven.
A parts list would be nice. I'd like to build one. Maybe Ill make a dual 240 and a 120 in the same box.
I have been thinking about doing the same, but having trouble figuring how to wire it.
Use a transformer to off the 240 to get your 120 👍.
Same. At most, I’d be doing 6 gallons and a 120v 2,000 watt element would do just fine. I don’t have access to a 240v outlet to run this PID
th-cam.com/video/Bb4dUF9w3uw/w-d-xo.html this is a parts list from 2 years ago. I think it’s the same
Great videos, but I wish you'd give a bill of materials in the description
I was thinking could 3d print a jig to layout the whole front panel at once. Make it so it sets into the screw holes for instant alignment.
George, do you ever sleep.... I know I’ve been up very late watching your amazing work
i really need to order the parts for making one. Thanks for the information. Cant you wire the 240 plug to run both 120 and 240 elements?
i'd say messure once cut twice lol , blow out on top heat rises hottes air out logic , dust gets blown away ,help your ventilator keeping it cool {enengy savings )
Has anyone made a parts list for this build?
what size is the box
George, could you post an updated parts list? Thanks!
Hi George tool is called a Vernier calliper.
George
Great video as usual

Hello George, gcould I get the measurement you use for the elec. outlet please. I have only one cover, so no screw ups for me. Thank you.

Where do you get the box from?
Do you have a parts list?
Hi George. I was wondering where you got your transformer for the fan? Thanks

You inspired me to build my first electric still as I always run mine on LPG gas, should be a bit safer lol.
Go for it!
thank you so much
Have u ever did a green apple brandy? Would love to see how it would turn out
how could i run this off my dryer outlet? it's 30 amp / 240 volt. would i need to add a sub panel with double pole 20 amp breaker?
Hey George I would like to buy one of them from you If you still make them. I have emailed you a couple of times it is the holidays. Do you still sell them?
George, your videos are great. "I just sexed the box up" about made me pee my pants. Thanks for all you do. Happy Distilling!
Where do you set the temp you want your element to come on
George, is that a 4-pin 16mm aviation connector?
4 pin and I believe it is 12 mm
@mpalmo I used this one to wire up my TC (12mm aviation connector):

What music is that in the intro?
I noticed a lot of guitars in your videos. You have any videos of yourself playing?
Anyone know if the amount of pins on the Aviator plug matters ? 😬 thank ya.
Your measuring tool is a vernier calliper
Hey George, You mentioned that you make and sell PID controllers. How much do you charge for yours and how do I buy one already made. Thanks.
Send me an email. I do all business through email and away from the channel

Is there a parts list somewhere?
Nevermind. Found it. :)
@THE FUND you have to look around. There are a few videos on this channel for the 240v build.
is there a parts list ?
George, please can you tell me what size box that is so I can order one. Thanks
10x6x4
Great series I’ve got all the parts but am stuck on the 4 pin thermal probe /aviation plug anyone here have a link to what they used ?
Is there a parts list for this build??
thanks. found it in part 2.
Do you sell pid controllers?
baking soda does the same thing as stick fast for a fraction of the cost
Hi George
How can buy one 240V 40A Built PID controller off of you?
Send me an email

Can we get a parts list of everything used?

Hey George do you still make and sell the pid control for the 120v
Yes I do

I think some of those ppl were just trolling George. It's difficult to believe they could be actually so simple minded, lol.
Could I do this similarly but with a 240v 30amp?
OK SO YOU CAN ;BUILD A BOX.
No everyone was blessed with common sense. Just pick one... lol
When you say you built a PID controller, you mean you put a PID controller in a box.
