The BOX represents SOCIETY, how society only accepts normal people and unique people (people who are different) are mocked or looked down.😞😔 Blend the meaning and story of the MV with IU's voice along with her acting with our Taehyung, it hits right through the chest. 😭

I got reminded of spring day when i saw the pile of clothes too! But IU is deaf and V is blind in one eye.
For me, the "box" represents what society, the media, the standard that people in general want to transform you into... and from the pile of clothes how many were lost in this process... I've watched so many reactions of this mv and a stray comment made me look at it completely different. In my interpretation: The apocalyptic world is the real world, society eating up idols, consuming their lives. She is deaf to the voices of her critics, (or mute: unable to speak out against this consumption) and he's blind to everyone but her. Though they desperately cling to one another they can't live in peace. They look through the lens of their video recorder and see only themselves and their love in this world. The mocking people trying to disrupt them and tear them apart are the critics, and in some cases, extreme fans. In the end, they're unable to stay in this idealized version of their life, their love persecuted and their life is once again consumed by the expectations of fans on idols.

My understanding of this mv is that it's an alien invasion. V is blind on his right eye. IU is deaf. They're the last 2 survivors. The video camera allows them to see how beautiful and happy they were before the invasion. They get married until death do us part, only they didn't part. They died together 💜 I think the extra people are their family and driends that would have attended their wedding if they were still alive.

IU can't hear and V’s one eye can't see .. in the end IU covered the good eyes of Taehyung so he won't see the horrible ending in front of them.. im Stuck at how a single tear from Taehyung’s good eye traced its path down his face and IU’s hand gently covered his eyes. It's as if he found a momentary refuge in her touch, offering a subtle relief from the overwhelming sensation.

I’ve seen some theories going around, and I have to say one of my favorites is that V and IU represent an aging couple close to death with the cube representing how death is inevitable. With the camera, they could reminisce about when they were younger and the good times that were cheerful, bright, and colorful. However, in the end they have to face reality and accept that it is their time. They lived a fulfilling life, loving each other until the end with everything they had.

ive been watching many reactions to this and i cry everytime
The song is definitely beautiful and IU's voice is amazing. I love IU's MV and IU and TaeTae's acting was excellent. TaeTae was blind in one eye and IU was deaf/mute, but they saw the beauty of each other. They looked normal to each other when they looked at each other through the camera. The evil cube sees them as inferior or imperfect and wants to destroy them. At the end you could see smoke rising so yes I believe the evil cube was burning them because you could see their ashes in camera view while their clothes were being lifted on the pile of clothes.
