Great piece! I know I've said this before, but I'm going to reiterate it. Every time the NSFW pour plays, I am reminded of how glad I am that you brought it back. Your sense of humor shines through in all your videos, personal comments, and subtitles. Keep it up! And, you've got to tell me who your supplier is, because I'm looking to get some of those rare Scandinavian dinosaur feathers, myself. You even managed to get samples for all four breeds. Astounding! 😁🤣😂😁
😂😂😂😂 Thanks Brad. I get them from the prehistoric market.
Oh Ken, I love that first coat of sanding sealer and your sense of humour; I’m pleased I stayed to the end. It’s also nice to see you recovering. 🌞
Thanks 👍
One of the prettiest bowls you have done. Nice job.
Thank you so much 😀
These really are the coolest things to watch. I didn’t even know this sort of thing existed. Can’t imagine having the skill to do it!
Thank you Allen.
You pecked a beautiful bowl to show us ❣️ I watch videos with subtitles or close captions on, not because I have bad hearing just a loud house and get a chuckle out of your comments.
You’re welcome 😊 I like adding the extra stuff
I love how colorful this bowl is.😂
I'm not sure how I hatched this idea. bahahaha I kill myself.
Almost expecting some blue or dark colored resin with sprinkling with the feathers (like others turning gorgeous burls into hidden works of art). Now this is a glory bowl for sure.
Every time I put stuff in resin people want me to use clear resin. So I thought I would try it. lol. Thanks John.
@@MoonpieCreations We want to see through the resin to all of the intracies of the burl wood surface, feathers, golf balls, and other such stuff. The very reason for clear resin - instead of hiding ingredients. Otherwise, use non-descript items that nobody wants to see ... and then use dark resins that cover and hide everything - magnifying the resin colors vs the inside items. It is just logical.
Great looking bowl Ken! I personally like the white from the feathers. The dad jokes in the subtitles were a great touch. Had a good chuckle! Thx and take care.
Thanks 👍
Love the colourfulness of this. I feel their could be some naked Dinos running around though😂
😂😂
I really like that. I didn’t think it would turn out as good as it did. Nice work Ken
Thanks 👍
Another very nice bowl. Way to go Ken.
Thanks 👍
Absolutely beautiful! You never cease to amaze me. Very unique. 👍.... Great t-shirt at the end.
Thank you so much 😀
Egg-cellent job! I love the colors. Thanks!
Thank you! That was an Egg-cellent comment.
Beautiful Feather Bowl, Ken!! 😃 Great job as usual!! 😃
Thank you so much 😀
@@MoonpieCreations You're very welcome, Ken!! 😃
This is so fun! Love the colors and how this turned out!
Thanks guys. I really wasn't a fan of this one. But the next one will be Clucking cool.
Beautiful Feather Bowl, Ken!
Thanks Glenn
(P.S. Love the 👕 msg at the end...lol 😆)
This bowl turned out great Ken 👍 & my favorite parts are the white from the feather stems. I was surprised 😮 that the dye from the fake feathers didn't bleed in the resin, who would'a thought...lol 😆
Can you make another feather bowl in the future but use real/natural feathers ❓ Maybe some: Cardinal, Blue Jay, Oriole, Canary, green Parrot, Raven, Hummingbird, or any other brightly colored iridescent feathers❓ I would be interested in seeing that bowl too!
Love you & so glad to see both your hands working on the lathe again. My prayers 🙏 were answered for you to have a complete & total recovery 🙏 ❤ 🙏
I'm not sure I will make another feather bowl. But I have some ideas for some good looking bowls.
Really cool bowl, Ken.
By coincidence, I had the captions on and those puns were real groaners. Took a lot of pluck for you to write them. But that's just my pinion.
😂😂😂Well played Dana, well played.
Great idea that turned out beautifully.
Thank you! 😊
Glad to see you back at it beautiful piece. Have a great weekend ✌️
Thanks, you too!
Impressive. Glad to see you back at it.
Hey, thanks!
I like how you feathered the edge a bit there........😁
Haha nice one.
Great colors! Glad to see you back at the lathe as well. Stay silly Ken! 😂
Stuart
Thanks, will do!
Looks great, Ken, especially for a feather-brained idea. No worse than the puns in your CC. Good to see you again.
Bill
Thanks 👍
Looking good Ken. 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Now if you did some ivy leaves or tree leaves in clear with the same bowl design - those would be fabulous.
Always
That is really pretty, never seen the feather thing done before, great idea!!
Thank you! 😊
I appreciate your trailer (tail-r?) It makes me happy to see you happy. At least for me, turning and woodworking are my escape from reality and a recharge to my mental health. I hope the same for you.
They definitely used to be. Today I find it okay, but since my incident I decided to focus more on family projects. Still enjoy turning every now and then though.
Glad to see you back to 100% after your injury. The bowl is beautiful but I bet it did smell like road kill while you turned it.
Thank you Jean
One of the coolest so far.
Thanks Ralph
Neat turning Ken.
Thanks 👍
Wow! That turned out really beautiful! I love the music you use in the videos! Haha
Thanks so much! 😊
That looks really cool, Ken!
Thanks!
Oh’mer’garsh, I was wondering the other day how feathers would look in one of these bowls, and here this shows up on my timeline. Goes to show you, if you put it out to the universe, sometimes the universe lobs one back to you? Now you’ll have to try peacock and ostrich plumes? Neat bowl.
Haha, I may have to stay away from feathers for a while. That smell still makes me a bit sick. lol
Beautiful bowl!
Thank you very much!
Looks good what a great idea
Thank you! 😊
That bowl is something to crow about!!!
lol well done.
It came out nice
Thanks Kenny
this was an awesome idea!!! great work.
Thank you! 😊
That bowl looks awesome! Kinda reminds me of fireworks or lasers when looking at the stem areas. All the colors are just gorgeous!
P.S. loved the butt wiggle at the end!😂👍💖
Haha Thanks Bebbie
I laughed when it said I shouldn't watch your videos at work while I sit at work.
Haha. Love this.
South Scandinavian Dino’s are notorious for the pungent feathers
I learned that first hand. 😂😂😂
Turned out really pretty. The bright colors are awesome. Nice bowl. 💕😊
Thanks so much! 😊
Thanks!
Wow, Mark. Thank you so much. I truly appreciate you. ❤
Ken, it turned out beautiful. Gave me an idea to head off to the craft store. Glad to see ya turning again. Be well and safe.
Awesome. I hope your project came out looking fabulous.
Good job, glad to see you are back to turning, about time. And you should not wear that ring while Turning 😄
Haha, I hate you sometimes, but love you most of the time.
Sweet ass bowl, congratulations, Canada
Thank you Beverly
At the beginning of this video, when I saw those colors, I knew it was going to be something great! And I was right! I can see why your wife wants to keep it. That’s gorgeous! Love the dark wood with the bright colors! Thanks for sharing your beautiful craft.
Also, how’s your hand? Back to 100%? Looks like it is. ❤ Thank goodness!
Thanks Debbie. Hand is at about 80% or so. Still having grip issues and pain.
Nice! The feather ends I would think would be an issue. Glad you was able to smooth them out. No color bleed from the feathers into the resin either?! Turned out beautiful.
They were a pain. I was surprised the dye from the feathers didn't bleed out.
Pretty 💙💙💙
Thank you
An NSF pour, SIX Pews, some lazers and as of today, a few (what sounded like) shots fired! What more acn anyone ask for on a Saturday morning?
Haha Yes!!!!
I'm feeling a sense of dejavu with this video, like, I've seen it before today. Mandela effect maybe?? LOL Love the feathers. BTW - love your sound effects. Awesome sauce!! Question - is the ACK sanding paste like Yorkshire Grit that Nick Zametti in England uses?? Same stuff, different price, different country?? One of those things that make you go hmmmmmmm.
It is basically the same think. Yorkshire Grit is made in the UK while Acks is made in the USA. A little difference on the blends and what's in it. I found I like Acks better. It's why I recommend it. Believe is or not I do not get paid by them to show it. I just like helping out a small US company.
Really dig the piece, it is not a turkey, that’s for sure. However, your description of the smell is enough to make me decide that I will admire your piece and not attempt to do one of my own. I think I’d take Palo Verde tree over wet or burnt feathers. [Turned Palo Verde supposedly smells like horse stable.]
I would much rather turn coffee beans again. They smell so much better.
you missed the opportunity to make a winged bowl!
Haha, yes I did.
awesome bowl...have you ever buffed the friction polish finish after it dries?
Unfortunately I don't own a buffer.
Very cool. Where do you get all these unique ideas???
I usually dream of them, but this idea came from subscribers. My next video did also. Thanks
The only thing I would do differently is to cut off as much of the quill as possible. (More room for more feathers ? ) But still beautiful.
Yes!!! I thought the same thing about the quills.
If you do this again (cause I know you’re just dying to smell feathers again soon lol) you can snip the ends of the feathers off and they will still look like feathers but not have those white tips.
My thoughts the whole time turning it. "Why didn't I snip the ends of the feathers" ugh unfortunately I did not learn my lesson on this one and have another video where the smell was pretty bad also coming.
Always awesome ! Good job! You're lathe is a 1836 ? 110 or 220volts ? Do you like it ?
Thanks. It is an 1836 220v. Much more power than the 110v. I love it. It does have it's issues with electronics and I have had to replace the the on/off buttons twice. But with as much use as it get's not to bad.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Connie
Why do I need subtitles turned on... I already speak English. But good video.
Haha, if you know, you know.
Never ever seen one use feathers in resin. You should go out and get some natural ones and cast them and turn it
Could you see me chasing a bunch of birds around on video? 😂😂😂😂
Ha yeah feathers smell like burning hair lol. It looks like fireworks
That's a cool description. Thanks
Lol says rings are dangerous but rubbing a small hand spear against a spinning peace to create a shape the sanding by hand is fine pmsl experts 😂
As for the smell I guess it smelt like burning hair ?
As for the bowl lush really like that one what was the wood or did I miss that looks nice the sexy time 👍🏻🥴 as always the tissues was needed in the beauty shots lol
Pew pew got me laughing
The bowl name class
As for the wife wanting one just means you will have to do another day with Walnut and candy red resin think she would enjoy that for Christmas heck be cool if you could put a rose head in the bottom say like do the bowl then make a hole put the head in and fill over with clear resin and call it the bowl of love supper cheesy like the old dad dance moves pmsl only joking cool dad moves 💪🏻👍🏻
I know right? I don't think I will ever turn feathers again.
To many feathers should of only used a half package
Thanks
Personally I think you have used FAR too many feathers, the beauty of them is lost in nothing but a clump of MESS, sometimes less is more.
Thanks
Really enjoyed this, except for the cringey 70's-type porno music.
Porno music? I like to call it Sexy Time Music.
@@MoonpieCreations : 😁👍🏻
You could say light as a feather stiff as a board. 🪵 🪶
Haha true
Pretty 💙💙💙
Thank you
