I always wondered how a vase could cost so much to buy. Now I know. The effort, craftmanship, materials and time involved is insane. Amazing job! Thanks for sharing.
You are the first YT wood turner I have ever watched, and you made this vase look like glass!!! 👏🏾 Thank you, David, for coming back and for once again sharing your beautiful art!!! 👍🏾👍🏾
'Stunning' could very well be an understatement for this fine work. It's surprising to me how you took an ugly, old, spiked burl and converted it into that masterpiece of fine craftsmanship. Your artistic ingenuity and creativity never cease to amaze me, David, as my respect for your trade increases tenfold every instance I gaze at another one of your beautiful creations. Keep-up the extra-fine work, and thanks for sharing this experience with us.
I don’t think I’ve seen a turner add holographic glitter before, it’s beautiful. I love the high gloss epoxy finish, it enhances all the elements.. the burl, color mix and classical vase shape. It’s just a gorgeous combination.
David, I'm blown away by the exquisite balance and skill in this piece. The chatoyance you've created in the resin mimics but doesn't overpower the figured chatoyance in the manzanita, and (as always) the vase has an exquisite curve. Stunning!
Wowza! This is absolutely gorgeous! It’s like eye candy to me! I love it. It went from a scary piece of wild looking roots to a gorgeous masterpiece! Bravo!
I’m not sure of anyone has mentioned it yet but the editing and production of this video was awesome! You added some new things in and it made the video a lot of fun. Also, seems like you got some new tools - congrats! Your work is stellar. Keep being awesome :)
This is absolutely gorgeous!! The resin work perfectly complements the wood and the design and you feel like you’re looking almost into the Milky Way and creation. Love, love, love your work..
I saw that root chunk attached to the lathe and I couldn't see how it was going to be possible to turn it. That was incredible to watch because of all the woodworking tools and machines, the lathe has always been my favorite. I particularly liked that you didn't talk over it (I mean NO offense) and let the sounds of the tools speak for you. It was very relaxing to watch and the result is spectacular. It would be hard not to have that piece be the focal point of any room. Do you ever include a "before" picture with any of your work? I would think that could only emphasize your mastery even more.
That is so beautiful. One of a kind, it can never be recreated. I am just blown away. That belongs in a museum. No doubt a 100 years from now it will be.
Just beautiful. You always amaze me with the gift you have for looking at a rough piece of wood then being able to turn it into a stunning piece of art. I'm learning to work with resin so I'm taking the names down of the mica powders you used with this resin. They were really nice. I use Eye Candy also, it's a good product. Wish those chambers you use came in a much smaller size, I'd like to have one about the quarter the size of yours to use to remove bubbling from resin. More videos please!
Thank you for another great video. I’m always excited to see a new project under your name. While I’m not a huge fan of resin (to me it’s just turning plastic) there is no denying your amazing artistry. I know resin is having a moment now, but on behalf of us lovers of the purity of wood, I long to see you return to making heirloom pieces that will be prized family possessions for generations.
I appreciate your comment. You’d be surprised how many projects I’ve started, hoping to avoid resin, and then ending up needing it to rescue the piece. I agree though. Resin is probably a phase, but it still seems to be growing.
GORGEOUS. I watched the whole video. You are an amazing CRAFTSMAN. I love your imagination & how your minds eye can imagine the beautiful article a crazy piece of wood & resin can become!
Wow! The finish you achieve is truly next level! I watch a lot of wood turning videos, but I haven’t seen anyone else who takes the finish to such a high level of smoothness and shine. Subscribed! 😃
Geez oh man David.. this is got to be my favorite piece to date. Your music, filming and editing is like watching a professional program. Dang! I’d sure like to own a piece of your art but I’m sure it’s outta my budget lol. Gorgeous 🇺🇸👍🏼 I just read in your description box for more info on this video, very informative and educational.
Exceptional craftsmanship, beautiful creation. The burl is a beautiful piece of wood, I’m curious as to why black is always used in wood turning projects. I’m old fashioned, I like a beautiful natural wood. It says so much about the growth. Your an exceptional artist.
Thanks! Well I can’t speak for everyone, but I like black epoxy because it doesn’t distract too much from the burl. It almost acts like a shadow whereas colored and vibrant epoxy tends to compete with it. I’ve done both, and both have their purposes.
That is a beautiful piece of wood just as it is. Glad to see you are not going to completely deconstruct it. What a beautiful vase!!! It makes me think of an Italian amphora for wine or olive oil.
Stunning as ever David! I am now never surprised that you can take something that people would throw away and find its beauty. And the shine was exquisite. I would ask you if you've ever waited for a short while for the resin to cure before pouring in order to keep the colours from merging? I've seen that done by other resin users and the results are outstanding! You really see the separation of the individual colours more. No criticism of your piece at all. I would buy that in a heartbeat if I had the money!😍
Thanks very much! Yes, I have tried delaying the pour to get more color separation, but my shop is not very well temperature controlled. These past summer months end up curing deep pour epoxy in 20% of the time it normally takes. I will definitely try it more though.
This is without doubt the sexiest final product I have seen in my year plus of watching wood turning videos, especially David's. The final shot of it turning at the end makes it look like some sort of planet, with continents of wood separated by a black, sparkling sea...breathtaking.🤩💯
You are unbelievably talented, I hope your work earns more than it costs.
I always wondered how a vase could cost so much to buy. Now I know. The effort, craftmanship, materials and time involved is insane. Amazing job! Thanks for sharing.
I appreciate that. It is a lot of work, but hopefully worth it to produce something one-of-a-kind.

The contrast in colors is incredible - what an utterly exquisite piece! 😮❤
Thank you so much!
Unbelievable . Pure art
I’m actually impressed is easily you put the air pressure hose thing on. I always struggle with it at my work
The production quality is absolutely stellar. What amazing audio production!
Thanks Ezra!
It's always refreshing when someone figures out what they were meant to do. Beautiful piece.
That means a lot. Thanks!
To take something so raw and natural and turn it in to the most beautiful and exquisite pieces makes my heart melt.
Cheers Susan!

Nature is beautiful … with a little help from a visionary artist it becomes enhanced… very cool.
Thanks Michael!
"enhanced"???
Rather "stifled"!!! 😱😱😱👎👎👎
Oh my goodness. That is gorgeous!! I do love me some sparkle!!
Craftsman’s unbelievable! You are so talented my friend. Truly your calling. Thanks for letting us into your imagination.
Thanks Rebecca!
Beautiful 🌸 what a lot of work
Yes! A new video about woodturning: something I have learned only a few months ago and been addicted to your channel ever since.
Awesome, thank you!
You should make something like this into a lamp. So beautiful!!!
This is absolutely gorgeous!! The resin work perfectly complements the wood and the design and you feel like you’re looking almost into the Milky Way and creation. Love, love, love your work..
Thanks!!
FINALLY! Someone that does it right... and also has a good eye for design.
So glad to see your work again. Have missed your creativity. This is a beautiful piece of art!

Cleaning up all those resin ribbons must drive you insane! And as always, a beautiful piece of art xx
Are those wood resins safe for our planet when discarded??

I recently came across your channel. It blows my mind that you only started turning wood in December 2018. Your work is amazing.
How nice that you are back…love the workmanship..you are an inspiration…….thanks to the sponsors….would not missed it for the world….congratulations

it is always a pleasure to watch your work; your masterful craftsmanship and exceptional videography make for a rare and unmatched combination.

Beautiful! The classic Grecian shape really allows the wood and resin choices to shine in a way a more complex shape wouldn't.
You are a creative genius. It's always exciting to see a new project posted, thank you so much!!!
I appreciate you!
The gnarlier the burl, the more beautiful the result. Stunning piece!
Thank you!
So beautiful! the colors you picked, and the wood grain, is gorgeous!

@@DavidAdamsen I’ll go check those out. Thank you.
This is just an awesome piece that someone will be proud to own.
After watching this and reading your description of the project all I can say is you NAILED it! This is beautiful.
Thanks Dave!
Hi David. Two days ago I was rewatching some of your old videos hoping you would make a new one. Thanks so much for this your work is breathtaking.
Thanks for watching! ✌️
I can see you've started mastering the art! Well done, once again a beautiful piece!
Thanks!
Sir you never disappoint!!! Thank you David for sharing .
Brilliant - the finished piece but also the video! Thanks for sharing your skills with the world.
Thank you very much!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Incredible. It is so memorizing. It literally looks like the stars were combined with wood and printed on a pot with a clear coat on top.
Beautiful. Again. Thanks for sharing with us. 👍😉
Thanks for watching, Steve!
David it looks absolutely fantastic well done👍
Thanks 👍
A great result, I love the way it feels like you're looking into the night sky through the voids left in the original burl.
Thanks so much!
It looks like a globe of a Planet with continents made of wood and made oceans of stars, that's badass.
From frightening to fantastic! Well worth the effort!
Thank you very much!

I wouldn't take anything less than $2, 500.00 for that, maybe even more. Just that wood alone is scarce. That vase is amazing! 👍👍👍
Absolutely beautiful. Fantastic work.
Thank you!
I like the colors and form. Can’t begin to imagine how much $$ you spent in resin only to cut 70% of it off.
