I’d prefer the XT5 as I don’t need a three-row and longer SUV. Same engine, drivetrain, and tech. Is there a difference between “aluminum” and “alu-minnie-um” wheels?
I love the exterior looks, the interior, not so much. The XT6 need a quilted seat option and more interior color choices. Plus the drivetrain need the 3.6 Liter Twin Turbo as an option getting 420HP and 430 Ft. LBS of Torque.
I just got the 23 lux xt6, and I love it. It rides super smooth, and although it is the base trim I don’t feel slighted at all. Awesome car, good job Cadillac!
I just picked up my 2022 XT6 Premium Luxury last week and I couldn't be happier with it! Terrific looking and functional, great space and comfort, reasonably priced for it's segment, great tech and safety features, plenty of power and a smooth ride! It's my first domestic US car brand purchase in 20 years.
Nice unbiased review. I moved from a 2019 Audi S3 (tiny) to a 2021 Cadillac XT6 Premium Luxury (large). 2 totally different vehicles. I have to say, it’s nice having all the room and luxury. Also, it’s so comforting to drive on public roads without having to worry about manhole covers, potholes, and speed bumps. No, the XT6 is not a blast to drive, but it is usable in almost every day scenario. I do not regret switching from a small/fun/tossable/agile luxury sports sedan to a mid-size luxury SUV.
The ride was great I agree as I said and lots of room. Thanks for the feedback. And it is also an eye catcher. I had plenty of looks while driving the XT6.
Traded My 2020 Mercedes GLE 350 (which was a piece of Crap) I just picked up my 2023 Cadillac XT6 Premium Luxury Black/with tan interior so far I am loving it....
You can get a '22 XT6 with almost every option for around $65K right now, and since they aren't "the hot new thing", no dealer markup on them---you can get them for under MSRP. Does it handle like an X5? No. Does it off-road like a Discovery? No. However the Euros cost $10-20K more, and the Caddy will cruise all over America with your family in smooth comfort and you can still drive it out of warranty unlike the Euros. If you are willing to take one step down in leather quality, an Enclave Avenir is functionally identical and a fully loaded one is all of $57K.
I agree with everything you said. I enjoyed the XT6 and that surprised me because although it wasn’t a full size SUV it was a lot larger than U.K./EU cars and it turned out being very different to how I expected it.
If I I’m going to spend more than half a $100,000 on a car 😂. Best believe I want it to drive and handle amazingly, as In going high speeds through curves & swerving through traffic when I want to
This is a beautiful crossover even more so in person. However, in the interior if they increased the touchscreen from 8 to 12 inches and gave it a digital instrumentation like the CT5 this vehicle would be awesome! An optional turbo V6 in addition to a hybrid option would be even better.
I agree, I didn’t mention the size of the display or digital instruments as it wasn’t missing any technology but that is one place they could improve the XT6.
Thanks! I didn’t know what to expect for either the XT6 or the Colorado pick-up I had in LA and so I approached both as someone who enjoyed them for their good points; and I didn’t find much wrong with either.
It was a good review, good job; and the car looks nice, I’m considering it for my next lease; right now I have Q5, I guess it will be a nice change for me; although Q5 has most features, I just wonder how the rides would be different
I'm excited about the Escalade V but what if Cadillac did something Awesome like made a XT6 V with a supercharged V8??? I know that I'm reaching but if Cadillac want to compete with Mercedes BMW Acura Audi and Infiniti they gotta get a lot more Competitive and offer even options
I got your email as well asking the same question but I’ll answer here. I think this car to me feels better quality than other European and Japanese competitors. I can’t comment on other US car companies as I haven’t driven their vehicles but most European car manufacturers such as BMW are using cheaper and less expensive materials inside the car and the Cadillac to me felt higher quality everywhere. Even in the areas you might not be touching everyday.
This car did not have it and based on my checking it does not appear to be available on any SUV other than the Escalade from Cadillac. However, I would say that the suspension on this car was great and I don't feel you would need it.
I'm torn about the XT6. I'm in LOVE with the interior of the lyriq and escalade but I want a midsize vehicle. If the lyric had 3 rows it would be the perfect car for me so I looked into the XT6 because the escalade is just too big. For almost $70,000 I would have expected the XT6 to have a similar display as the lyriq and escalade.
@@TechInTheCar well I'm hoping the 2024 version gets a nice upgrade because that dash has to go. The KIA Telluride got a whole new upgrade for 2023 and I think that is the route I'll be going but I'm afraid that once I buy it Cadillac will finally do an upgrade. KIA has done an excellent job with the interior but I'm not sold on the exterior and I don't want to just settle for that type of money. Hopefully Cadillac is listening to our input because alot of people would love to see an upgraded dash ❤️
Beautiful car. Good review. Two things. I wish you stated how tall you are for context and perspective when you say thinks like plenty of head room and leg room. I'm 6'2" and am always concerned about both. I also wish you included showing the interior rear of the vehicle with the third row down, from outside thru the trunk and from inside in various places. I would normally drive with the 3rd row down except for the occasional times when those extra seats are needed, so how that looks from various views with the third row down is important to me. I've been wanting to get the full size, newest Escalade Sport Platinum, but it has just a bit more space inside than I need, I love the room but don't need so much, so I'm wondering if I'd be happy with the mid size XT6. I agree with your assessment of how luxurious this looks. With all that high quality leather it looks like it would be luxurious feeling not just looking. Glad to hear this has the Night Vision, love that, great in bad blizzards and dense fog for seeing the exhaust heat of any vehicles in front of you, not to mention seeing Bigfoot. Wondering though if this also has heated and cooled and massaging seats, and the adjustable air ride suspension that can raise or lower the vehicle up to 2" more as is found in the Escalade. Also love that this comes with the thicker rubber 20" wheels instead of the 22"rs.
5:32 That little wasted space cubby is where they should have put the wireless phone charger,,that’s where they put it on the fully 2023 loaded Toyota Highlander,,,at 52k I looked at both for my wife,,,,I like the looks of exterior of Caddy better, but Highlander blows the Caddy away on the interior ,,,has a huge touch screen compared to this 8inch,,, even my new Corolla has a 9 inch and more updated look than this Caddy!
My 2017 Acadia Denali still feels pretty new. If the 2023 XT6 had a fresher look, like the Lyriq, it would have been the winner. The Lyriq is next for me unless the Hummer EV Suv ends up in a lot near me.
Gm needs to stop holding back and make Cadillac a real Premium Luxury brand if not they will never be able to beat their competition if you put this on side of the Mercedes Benz suv that's in this class the interior alone would put the Cadillac to shame the thing that is hurting GM the most is that they continue to cheap out their products

How much?
I just bought this today, I am just waiting for my 2024 to come in.
How long did it take before your XT6 came in ? ( I'm going to order one next month ) The dealer told me the wait now is 10 - 15 weeks.

Where you put your phone is an automatic chordless phone charger as well.
Just got my wife a 2024 xt6 sport in white, LOVE IT!
Great!
THANK YOU SO MUCH. GREAT VIDEO AND EDUCATION. THANKS FOR SHARING.
So nice of you

I know my new Corolla is 9inch,,, Caddy’s like a 2018 style WHY???
Looking at the xt6 premium luxury 2023 what’s a good price
I have the 2021 XT6 AWD 400. Love it🔥
Awesome! it is a great car.
I have a 2021 XT6 premium luxury and still can’t find dealer roof cross bars.
Great and fair review, I could tell you went into this review open minded.
What a refreshing change in this field!
Thanks! I didn’t know what to expect for either the XT6 or the Colorado pick-up I had in LA and so I approached both as someone who enjoyed them for their good points; and I didn’t find much wrong with either.
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I LOVE EVERYTHING.
SUGGESTION: T56 MANUAL TRANSMISSION.
Anyone know about the "automatic seat belt tightening"? I've not tried it but I'm worried it'll be uncomfortable.
It is fine. The first time it’s a bit strange but you forget about it very quickly.
@@TechInTheCar thanks..... appreciate reply.
SUGGESTION: BLACK WING EDITION!!!! THAT WOULD BE TOTALLY AWSOME!!!!
I would only purchase the AWD model in the XT6, not sure if this vehicle is fwd based.
Oliver, I know you really liked the XT6. But one question.
Did you drive it till the sun came up on the Santa Monica Boulevard?
I wasn’t out that late but I did enjoy the sun in the area everyday!
🤣 that's my jam
It was a good review, good job; and the car looks nice, I’m considering it for my next lease; right now I have Q5, I guess it will be a nice change for me; although Q5 has most features, I just wonder how the rides would be different

I think that the time of big powerful engines are over and there may not be many more to come!
How do the fit and finish of the XT6 compare with that of its competitors (Acura MDX, BMW X5, Lincoln Aviator)?

@@TechInTheCar Thank you! I apologize for the duplicate messages. I'm techo-spastic! I appreciate your input!
How would you compare the fit and finish of the XT6 with that of its competitors (Acura MDX, BMW X5, Lincoln Aviator)?
Acuras don't have good fit and finish and very thin paint compared to European vehicles and none of the acuras look as good as the xt6
What is the length of the car
The overall length is 198.5 inches or 5042mm.
...I enjoyed your review... Great job!👍
Thanks so much!
2021 vs 2022 any change? thanks
I am not sure, sorry. I will look into it but my car was also very highly specced.
I'm loving this car
It is a great car!
You Didn’t mention if it had adjustable suspension. As in sport and tour like in the Cadillac sedans. If you could fill me in at appreciate it
This car did not have it and based on my checking it does not appear to be available on any SUV other than the Escalade from Cadillac. However, I would say that the suspension on this car was great and I don't feel you would need it.
SUGGESTION: WOOD ACCENTS FOR THE CABIN.
How does the fit and finish compare with that of its competitors (Acura MDX, BMW X5, Lincoln Aviator)?
Can’t forget the Volvo
SUGGESTION; PLEASE CONSIDER ADDING A TWIN TURBO TO THE V6.
Beautiful ❤❤❤

This is because the XT6 is the previous generation of car. So it doesn’t have the same interior.

Thanks for the feedback, I did film that but it did not turn out a I expected so I did not include it. It is tight in the third row.
Correction: Cadillac was founded in 1903, not in 1911.
Correction: Cadillac was formed in 1902
Thanks for correcting me! sometimes I might make a mistake so I appreciate it.

The midsized Lincolns has a much luxurious better looking interior
My 21 Cadillac xt6 is already leaking oil
I believe you, go with Lexus, GM sucks
Need better stock rims
That dash looks 10 years old. Beyond me why XT6 does not have Escalade dash.
The newer models will have that - depends on the MY.
It's much more reputable when using "as well" in every other sentence.
You try filming with all the distractions on Santa Monica beach behind you. You might say “as well” as well 😀
That's sad if this is the best the US has to offer!
Auto manufacturers are delusional about how public can afford stuff like this during an inflation 'and dealer mark ups 'I hope they only made 5000 lol
Car only looks good outside. The interior is outdated!
Front seats are way too hard!
Lol.. It has gages lmao... So much for Cadillac..... What a joke... Change the display.
