I think it would've lasted like 3 to 4 seasons without a hitch . Barney is pretty legendary but at the end of the day it was the skills of the writer of the show

They also Based the role on Jack black so Barney started as a nerdy man child and failing womanizer you’re meant to laugh at. I think his character development and relationships with quin, Nora, and Robin were written because it was nph.
@@EnyaShello I saw Himym first, and thought the same thing. They just basically took his Harold and Kumar character and put it in a TV show. I thought they did the same thing for Breaking Bad with Cranston and odinkirk from the Himym with Walt and Saul.

He will always be Dougie Howser to those of us who watched him years ago. Like Richard Chamberlain was always Dr. Kildare. Both were great shows with handsome actors just starting out. I've watched him grow & mature as an actor. So proud of the man he has become.
