  • Why Fujifilm? Why their lenses and why their camera bodies?
    I have had so many people ask me this question and it is a great question! Why do I shoot with Fujifilm? what is it about their lenses and camera bodies that keeps me hooked and that I love so much.
    Watch the vlog and I will tell you my Fujifilm story and why I have stuck with Fujifilm now for over 4 years.... :)

    You use what speaks to you as a creator and not because of tech specs. You chose the most important reason.

      I absolutely love this comment, thank you so much. And yes, it’s like painting, you find your style with either watercolours or oils, it’s the same for the cameras and lenses for me. It picking the stuff that I know will be fun to use and create something magical 🙏🏻🙃

      @@wildandfreevictoria My first Fuji was an X-T2. Probably should've kept it, but it was the start for me. I briefly left Fuji to get my Nikon Z9 (trade ins), missed Fuji so then got rid of my what was left of my Sony kit to get an X-H2S and eventually got an X-H2. I feel like Fuji speaks more towards general creative. It's probably why I've been enjoying your content since you're filled with fun and enthusiasm for this thing I call both work and a hobby.

    As hard as I've tried to use something else, I always have stuck with Fuji for over 10 years now. The jump to 40mp's really quenched any desire I had for full frame. As you say, the lenses and bodies just go together so well, a beautiful aesthetic that's a pleasure to use. Cheers from Oregon! 🙂

    Thank you so much for this video. It gives voice to why I like Fujifilm as well. In addition to the tactile nature and the look, I also like that they are a company whose approach bucks the status quo of photography. It makes photography for me to be more about image creation (Fuji) vs. moment capturing (company line). Keep making amazing content!

    When I was researching what camera to get (almost 2 years ago now), and I saw the X-T4, I knew I had to have it! And it was only really based on the look of the body and the existence of the dials for the exposure triangle. And when I learned what IBIS was, it sealed it for me. And now I'm a huge Fujifilm fan like yourself. 😊

    Like you, my first camera(still using it) was the X-T3. I have it just over three years now. There were two main reasons I bought it. First, performance for price. I did lots of research and patient shopping before buying. I found a barely used X-T3/18-55 kit with other extras all still in the box wrapped like it was brand new for a great price. I paid less than the cost of just a body for the other brands. The second reason was that it looked familiar. The last camera I had before the X-T3 besides my phone, was a Ricoh X-RP film camera from 1984. So, the X-T3 had a familiar look and feel. Oh yeah, there is a third reason! When I looked at the cost of lenses for various systems, Fuji seemed the most affordable for me as an amateur/enthusiast photography. I have grown to love the camera. And, it's still more capable than my ability, but it makes me want to keep learning. It's cool to hear your thoughts on the 23mm lens. I've recently been enjoying that focal length with the 18-55 and considering the 23mm f2. The new lenses are a bit beyond my budget. But, I am a patient shopper, so who knows!! Thanks for the info and the scenery. Have a great week!

      @@charliejgoh I wasn’t clear-the 23mm f/1.4 LM WR is the one to get IMO-close focusing/AF/image quality etc. all superb. Its legendary. The 18 and 33 are also excellent but I chose the 23 because the 35mm equivalent is just so versatile indoors and out.

    • @wildandfreevictoria
      @wildandfreevictoria  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well it is a fantastic camera to start with! Yeah I think that was my draw too, the price, the performance, the style and just the overall packaged seemed very reasonable! Ahh that makes so much sense for your 2nd reason as well! Similar to me, at school I got to study photography in a darkroom and developed my own negatives etc. And loved it! So the XT3 just gave me that reminder if shooting analogue. And yes, your third reason is also super valid and correct! They are reasonable and such lovely quality cameras. Well… me and the 23mm F/1.4 have an incredible loving relationship and I could not recommend it enough. If you were willing to wait for it to go on sale or some Fuji cash-back offers then I would because it is a wonderful lens (but this is from my opinion of course) and it is always attached to my camera and my first go to lens, I adore it! 🙃

    With the full frame camera you will have even more dreamy look with the same aperture lens. Don’t understand your point. It looks like you haven’t tried at all other systems. I am not against Fuji since I an x-t4 owner, but I am with this camera only because I am not shooting raw. This camera saves a lot of time when you don’t require to edit photos and videos afterwards. And yeh, the look of the camera and its price of course are superb. Apart from that Fuji doesn’t have any magic. If I would shoot raw and f-log, then I would definitely switch to any FF camera since they often have even more “dreamy” look and way more better and reliable autofocus in video mode.

      If it’s not broken, don’t fix it. I have tried lots of camera. This is only Part 1 🙃 in the second part I talk about the XH2 and the XH2s which I now own and use. I shoot in f-log and do a lot of filming on both of these cameras which has really enhanced my cinematography - i didn’t get the footage for this vlog on my XT3! It was all done on my XH2s 🙃✌🏻

      @@wildandfreevictoria I understand but X-H2S also has a poor autofocus comparing to competitors. Yes it’s way more better than X-T4 but still far behind Sony for example and during wedding filming you can’t rely on it completely for example.

      i havent noticed this, have a look on my reviews and you will see. My photography is all self portrait work and the AF has been fantastic. And i’m
      Not about to trade in my cameras to buy something double the price when my camera works perfectly great for me 🙂

      I don’t understand you. She said, she connects to Fujifilm and here you are disputing it. Talking about dreamy looks, I bet if I show you clips shot on aps c and FF, you cannot tell the difference. I find this FF vs APS-C arguments rather ignorant. I use a Fuji and a Sony, and 70% of my lenses are manual. Not everybody prioritizes autofocus.
