    Hello Victoria. I’m an older photographer from Denmark, who grew up with film, and now are shooting with a ten year old Fuji XT1 and the 18-55 mm kit zoom, the 35 mm f.1;4 - the 60 mm macro and Manuel lens, The Meike 25 mm f.1;8.
    It works fine, but in the near future I’ll have to upgrade to a newer body, probably the XT5.
    It would be nice with Ibis and a bigger battery, and better autofocus.
    I have no need for the 40 million pixels.
    I shoot with Fujifilm, because it’s the closest thing to film cameras there is.
    Nice video.
    ❤❤❤

    I was always fascinated with photography, ever since my dad (who died very young) showed me how to shoot and develop photos. On recommendation the XT-20 helped me find that connection with photography (and my late father) again. And from the first shot with a 35mmf2.0 I was hooked on fujifilm. I even have used his old lenses (with various adapters)to photograph my daughter (the granddaughter he never met)I love photographing people, landscapes, the moon and wildlife and now on an XT-3 (with a 100-400 and a few others). Dangerously eyeing an XH2S for the autofocus and a 150-600, your vids aren’t helping the resistance 😊. It’s been and will remain a delight. Many thanks for your informative and relatable videos.

    Victoria, I love your expose's! Your film work is lovely! I gave up all 4 of my Full frame Nikon bodies and 10 lenses for all Fujifilm bodies that is 7 XT's (2 x XH2's, 2x XH4's, 2 x XT3's, XT20) and 3 GFX's? 16 XT lenses and 8 GF lenses. I shoot professionally and Fujifilm works well for me. All of our videos from the last few years have all been Fujifilm.

    Love your videos and I love Fujifilm ❤ Your photos are absolutely beautiful
    I have the X-T5 and the X-S20 right now. Started my channel a few months ago and focus mainly on photography and videography around Fujifilm. Love my 23mm 1.4 LM WR and the 35mm 1.4 - recently got the 13mm Viltrox as well. I love macro photography and yes, I bought that massive Fuji 80mm macro lens - stunning! 🤩

      This is brilliant! Congratulations on starting your channel and taking the leap to do it! And your choice of lenses is brilliant! Especially the 23mm - that is my favourite. I have never tried a Viltrox but I have heard great things about them so maybe i’ll try it! And have fun with the macro lens, that sounds wonderful! 🙃

    I completely agree with your feelings about Fujifilm cameras and lenses. I started with an X-T2 worked through the X-T4, but had problems with the switching between video and photo.
    Now have an X-H2s and waiting for the X-Pro4, but not sure if I’ll want the X-H2 to keep the ergos the same, but have that 40mp sensor… I do love the rangefinder setup tho.
    And definitely, the people are amazing.
    And the Kaizen updates. I love updating, the excitement of a new feature or film sim!

      So glad you agree and understand it! There is something special about the fuji stuff! Ahh yes, it can get confusing when swapping between cameras - i know I get confused anyway and that’s why I went for the XH2 and the XH2s. But if what you have works then stick with that.
      Tehe you have just reminded me to check for any updates on mine as I have in a while 😅😅

    You are an amazing brand ambassador! 😎
    I love how Fujifilm delivers cameras for everybody at any skill level and always helps deliver great results. You don't even need to know post-processing, you can just shoot in a film simulation. How convenient!
    My XT-4 taught me A LOT about photography and made me a fanboy. Recently, I even got myself a used GFX 50R, so now I have another, more challenging, tool to play with. You can get amazing results with that too, but you need to be more mindful when taking photographs, it's quite slow and sluggish, but that suits my style pretty well.
    I'm glad to be part of the fanclub. ☺

    • @wildandfreevictoria
      @wildandfreevictoria  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Maybe one day! 😅
      Yes that is such a great point and way to explain their stuff! Yes and the quality of colours, tones and saturations means you don’t necessarily need to do post-processing which is great!
      Hehe not a bad fanboy! I think the XT series is such a great way to learn about photography and how to shoot properly. It taught me so much too. Ooooo fancy stuff! What is the GFX series like? I’ve never used it but it looks incredible! Yeah that makes sense about being more mindful when shooting, it would be good to try it, maybe one day! 🙂

    • @andreposthumus2072
      @andreposthumus2072 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@wildandfreevictoria Yeah, maybe you could try it one day. (Fujifilm should lend you one!) It gives you a lot more resolution to work with but it also give you more dynamic range and very pleasing depth of field. It can give your photography a special look. I think it would fit your dreamy, cinematic style, but it's a very pricy system to jump into, so stick with the X-series which is more than capable (as you know 😁).

    Agreed. Fuji are quirky. Often miss focus, need more repairs than other big brands. Can’t use the fiddly buttons wearing gloves. But…. The creativity that I squeeze out of my Fuji kit surpasses all those years I spent with my other big brand camera. Fuji JPEGs are awesome either way amazing dynamic range. I don’t shoot raw with Fuji. The latest Fuji’s offer HEIC format. Even better!!!!
    I haven’t seen any reviews about Fuji HEIC files. Go on….. dare you….
    Meanwhile thanks for inspirational videos.

    I wanted to change from a bridge camera to a mirrorless. I went to a camera dealer with a large range and tried out several different brands but Fuji was the only one that felt right for me. Actually I don't see many people with Fuji so I was surprised when, a couple of weeks ago as I was walking past Southwark Cathedral with my camera, someone called out to me "Hey, is that a Fuji 70 - 300 mm lens?". Turned out to be a sports photographer from Greece. We had a long chat about Fuji.

    I love my Fujifilm cameras and lenses Because they are rather compact - so I carry them :-)
    Also the use model with the dials on my XT-3 and X-PRO 2 are supporting me to quickly do my settings without needing to go too much into the menus. Regarding image quality I am super happy with the cameras from that side there is no trigger for me to upgrade.
    The only thing is the autofocus speed. Especially when I try to take pictures of our dog...the keeper rate is rather low. Who knows - one day I will maybe upgrade to a XT-5 or XH2(s)

    • @wildandfreevictoria
      @wildandfreevictoria  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Love this! Yes they are super compact and great for travelling too :) So glad you use the models with the dials and you make a really important point about speed - that can find everything so easily on a Fuji without taking your eye away from the view finder. Well as they say, if it’s not broken, don’t fix it! But I do understand what you mean about AF, I found a big difference from my XT3 to the XH2/XH2s but I still really appreciate starting with a slower AF camera, as it still helped me learn so much more and I carried this over into my newer cameras and still shooting in manual 🙃

    Hey Victoria,
    I came to Fujifilm after 40 years with Canon. I didn't wanted to change from EF to RF Mount by change from SLR to SLM, so I looked for a nostalgic as an old AE1 or F1.
    I found it in Fujifilm.
    Now I'm ower of XT-4 and XT-5. Lenses: XF 8, XF 8-16, XF 18, XF 16-80, XF 70-300, Vitrox 13 and EF-FX adapter by Fringer to use my old Canon Lenses, how Fisheye 8-15 ...
    I'm happy.

    Love the Fujifilm camera, i have the XT2 for many years now, and i take it everywhere i go, and i is so good to see others enjoy the Fuji cameras too, their is something about this camera i just like, maybe the image i see with my own eye is there in the camera when you snap that shutter button, it like having your eyes in your hand through the camera, it is the feel of the buttons and dials ready to turn and press when the moment is just right. will i upgrade to a newer model, not yet as my XT2 give me what i see and what i feel in the moment, your videos are good help others to enjoy what is around them it is good to get out and about.

    One of the reasons I switched to Fuji years ago was because I love the vintage look, it just looks sexy. That I would ever say something so unqualified. But, it's true. I use an XT 5 for my people and landscape photography and an XE 4 in silver with silver-coloured lenses for my street photography. 🙈

    First. Your passion is infectious. Fuji should have a way for actual Fuji users to vote for who they support as ambassadors. You would have my vote. That said, I came to Fuji through 120 film back in the day. My set up was a GSW690 and served as big brother to my Leica M6 with V4 35mm Cron. Two cameras one lens each. When the x100F dropped, I moved away from film. I do not think I will ever get along with an EVFs. I cannot give up seeing outside my frame lines in rangefinder style shooting. I did try to upgrade my M6 with a m10 R black paint but It just didn't do it for me. I also have a Q2 but only shoot it in 35 crop mode so my frame lines are in the EVF LOL but it is just not the magic the X100 and my Xpro3 give. At some point, if Fuji ever updates the GFXR, I will be back to the digital version of my OG setup- a X100 and a bigger brother GFXR.2

    my very first camera was a Fuji X-S1 bridge camera back in 2012, i then moved to a Canon DSLR, and after a few years i developed shaky hands so switched to Panasonic Lumix due to their ibis (Canon didn’t even have a mirrorless model out at that time) i started shooting a lot of sports and the Lumix struggled with auto focus, so i started looking at other brands that would be better for sports, about 5 weeks ago i randomly decided to charge the battery for my trusty old Fuji X-S1 bridge camera and go for a walk around our local woods, as soon as i started taking pictures the nostalgia of using a Fuji camera came flooding back, the ease of use, the film simulations (because i’m not very good at editing) so the jpeg’s straight out of the camera look great, just using the camera put a smile on my face, so i traded in all of my photography gear and bought a Fuji X-H2s & Fujinon 100-400mm and i absolutely love the camera and the lens, and i’m looking forward to being part of the Fuji community and learning from others, i’m currently binge watching your videos (which you film and present brilliantly) trying to decide what my next lens should be as a general walk around and street photography lens.

    Thank you for your inspiring videos!✨ I have never photographed with SLR cameras, I was devoted to Olympus for 11 years: the old XA and various Om-d models. But I always wanted film-like shots straight out of the camera. So last year I switched to Fujifilm, tried xs10, xt5, now I have xh2 with tamron 17-70 lense, fujinon 33, laowa 60 macro and xs20 with analog lenses that I got from my grandfather. I'm still wondering whether I need two cameras, whether I can shoot videos on the xh2 or there will be any problems with this. 40mp photos are simply amazing!

    Came from the Xt2 to XH2, had some Xc lenses like 50-230. Had mixed feeling with it with the Xt2. With the Xh2 it is a different beast. It nails the focus, makes sharp images easyer and mindblowing sharp images even in lower light. I knew the lense could do that, but now also in lowlight. That xh2 AF is just perfect. Simular with the Jpegs. that 5 gen processor are making mindblowing Jpegs. The IS is also a major gamechanger from the Xt2. That 40 mp are more demanding on exposures though compared to the Xt2. Love the way more headroom you get for post compose your images on the 40mp. Defferently makes more keeper images. You rarely get that much from renewing, but you do with to the latest gen's of Fuji's

    Hi Victoria, I really love your photos and definitely you are a very good photographer / videographer. At this moment I don't have any camera and I am super undecided between buying a Fuji Xt5 or X-H2s or buying the Nikon Zf. The X-t5 and the Zf are both retro cameras but the advantages of choosing Fuji is that their lenses are really beautiful and they are sharp. Obviously a full frame image is sharper than a crop since it is coming from a big sensor but I need a camera to enjoy it during my holidays, family events and small gigs.
    What I am a bit afraid of Fuji is their autofocus since it is no at par with the big companies, but thanks to your video I am more inclining of buying a Fuji then a Nikon body.
    You are such a lovely person and truly inspirable.

    Dear Victoria, found the channel and was curious on the thumbnail ("Brown Bear Slovenia") when saw the Xf200mm. My comment is based in a bit of a mix between this one (Part 1 and 2) and the one mention earlier.
    Wondering myself why hasn't Fuji reached out to you for an introduction to the brand, that you spontaneously did so beautifully!
    Started myself as well, with the XT3, but on the sport side of photography splitting my passion between among action sports such as surf, triathlon, tennis, moto and motor racing. Despite of a few positive comments, regarding my work, the most intriguing one was by guessing the type of equipment that I was using. Several top brands were mentioned, but none was correct!!!
    Then would come the comment about the autofocus system and I can tell that most of the times either is asked from the camera the impossible or one doesn't know how to work with the system. I usually say that the Fujifilm made me a better photographer, as it feels different and we really can take advantage of customisation.
    Regarding equipment: Bodies XT3,4 and XH2S | Lenses: XF200mm F2, 100-400 F4.5-5.6, 50-140 F2.8 (what a workhorse!), 16-55 F2.8 and 90mm F2. On my Wishlist 23mm 1.4 WR, 56mm 1.2. GFX system it would be a dream come true!
    You work is amazing and the quality of video and photography is outstanding. #natgeo Cheers. Carlos

    I have the X-T5 for my photography and the XH2 for video and back up. There are 2 things I'd do differently though: I'd have bought the XT5 in silver, and actually I would have bought the XH2s instead as you have done. I had the XT3 and XT4 before and so I thought the XT5 was the way to go, but the more I use it the more I like the XH2 better... Not that big a deal and not worth changing out at this point. You have inspired me to pick up the 23 F1.4 for video. I can recommend the 70-300mm to you to throw in your bag, I think you would love it and it's inexpensive and very useful and sharp. 🤠

But the XT5 is still a fantastic camera and great quality. Yes definitely do, I ALWAYS use the 23mm for filming, it is just pure magic and you won’t regret it! Years ago my son had a Fujifilm digicam and the colours from it were superb, far better than the Canon one I was using at the time.
    Eventually that Canon broke and I switched over to using my phone.
    Fast forward to last year and my new year's resolution to get a decent camera and learn to do photography properly by doing a night class at college.
    The memory of my sons Fuji coupled with some research led me to buy a pristine used X-T10 with the 18-55 f2.8-4 which I absolutely love and have no intention of ever selling.
    Added some lenses...
    In order of purchase: XC 50-230 , XC 15-45, XF 35 f2, XF 70-300, TTArtisans 25 f2
    And after your review, picked up the Fuji XF 11 + 16mm macro tubes.
    Very happy with the Fuji gear but also have a super cheap (less than £150) Canon 450D + EF-S 24 f2.8 which rattles around in my work bag.
    One thing the college course taught me, you don't need deep pockets or state of the art expensive gear to take amazing photos.
    So there's no X-H2s on my horizon anytime soon.

It sounds like a super set up you have and with some lovely glass as well! It's great to read my reviews helped a bit in your decision with the macro work. I think that set up will last you a long time 🙃✌🏻

    Love your channel, video's, passion - and I'm about to make the leap of faith and buy an x-t5 this week after consuming everything fuji for the last 6 months. Have signed up to a fujifilm beginners day/course in the next few weeks to learn the basics, but I'm torn on one thing - what lenses to buy initially. Appreciate this has to be an individual choice but would welcome any thoughts. I'm drawn to the 18mm 1.4 but I have no idea why ha-ha (I notice you use the 23mm 1.4). I'm only a hobbyist but have travelled a lot over the last 20 years and regret not having a decent camera. I feel as though I should also dip my toe into a 16-55mm lens I'm torn on whether I should be buying the x-t5 with the 16-55mm kit lens or get the body only and couple it with the 16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR - any thoughts much appreciated. Stay wild, stay free ;)

    • @wildandfreevictoria
      @wildandfreevictoria  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you soooo much! And this is so lovely to read! Enjoy the X-T5, it is a beautiful camera - you will love it! Hehe it is a big decision to make and it’s good you have taken you time to decide. Beginner courses are brilliant and it will give you the time to learn the camera well - this would be my best bit of advice so you can get the best out of your camera. Ahh yes, if cameras weren’t hard to decide on, lenses are a different matter! Ok when I first for my XT3 it came with the kit lens 18-55mm and I did not like that lens for the simple fact, the base aperture was too narrow for my style. So I sold that and purchased the 56mm (old one) and used this for 3 years until I purchased lots of different lenses and were swapping them about. But now my favourite 2 lenses are the 23mm f/1.4 lm wr and the 16-55mm f/2.8 (which funny enough I did not like years ago when I tried it but now love it!). So it is a difficult decision and bear in mind they are also cropped on the mirrorless sensors. If you have an appeal to the 18mm then give it ago. I found it just a tiny bit too wide for me as an overall lens and that’s why I went with the 23mm. Also check with Fujifilm as in the UK they have a loaning system where you can borrow gear for 48 hours for free (with a deposit) and it might be worth doing this with a few lenses so you can get a feel for them all. I hope this helps a bit and good luck - and enjoy it 🙃

      So, it’s xt minus 1 day before the big purch, and cannot wait ha-ha. I have questioned whether I’m jacobs cream crackers buying into Fujifilm 4 days before an X-summit, but we don’t think there's an xt-6 coming next week do we? Thanks for all the advice, appreciated :)

    Been shooting Fuji since 2017 with like a year or whatever as a break when I didn't have Fuji. Fuji has a personality, they're fun to shoot, easy enough to edit files, good colors, nice skin tones. Current kit is a lot. XH2, XH2S, 16-55. 18 1.4, 50 1.0, 33 1.4, 56 1.2WR, 200F2, 90F2 and the Tamron 150-500. I mainly went back to Fuji because it makes me feel like an individual, which Sony wasn't doing for me, I felt like some sort of drone on that system (I also don't like the Sony community).

    • @wildandfreevictoria
      @wildandfreevictoria  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is a long time! And good on you for sticking with what you enjoy. I agree with all of your points! That is a fabulous line up of kit as well! How do you find shooting with the 200f2? I really want to shoot with this lens! That is a really interesting point about shooting with Sony vs Fuji, I think I do know what you mean, especially the lack of community. I think Sony cameras take the joy out of photography in some weird way - i’m sure they get fantastic results, but it lacks that heart and sense of achievement. thank you for your perspective, it’s very insightful!

    • @marcusbeasley3212
      @marcusbeasley3212 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@wildandfreevictoria I love the 200F2, it's heavy and you really need to know how to attach that lens to a strap system, but the results out of it are great. Nice and sharp, good bokeh, good for basically everything if you have the room for it. I shoot Nikon and Fuji, those two systems are my roots in photography. You can get good images out of any camera and I personally try not to view any system as, "the best." They're all good and I think the Sony community loses the plot regarding that and the condescending ego in it is not what I'm about. I sold my Sony system and I don't think I'm looking back. I just want to create images and not lord the brand over other people.

I have the Fuji 16-55mm along with the 10-24, the 33mm and recently the 18mm. I also shoot with a 40mm Voightlander prime with an adapter. The Voightlander 40mm 1.2 is for Leica M glass.With the adapter I purchased it allows almost macro images but everything is manual focus and works perfectly with the Fuji focus peaking. In a way it is two lenses. at F/14. it is "clinical" but at F/1.2 very "dreamy". @@wildandfreevictoria

    Your choice of music to support the visuals is exquisite! I knew it was time to move from my X-T4 to the X-H2 because of my wildlife photography. I loved the analog feel of the X-T4, but the layout of the X-H2 and the bigger body supports my lenses better. I'm saving up for a second Fujifilm body, maybe another X-T4, X=T5 or the anticipated X-Pro4 so I can have the best of both worlds. I was the kid that would always dig through the family shoebox of old polaroid pictures so I could remember and dream. The film simulations and Capture One's beautiful grain settings help me make pictures I will remember in years to come. I print out 4x6 photos on a simple photo printer because I prefer tactile images vs. screen images. In short, its time to make my own shoebox of memories (even though I use photo binders now :) ).

    Yeah, it’s pretty much the same thing with me. I want from Nikon to Canon and stayed there for years, but I kept feeling more and more disconnected from the process because doing and undoing (minor changes) anything besides point and shoot really becomes a pain in the ass. It’s just faster to set, faster to check and faster to change when you have the triangle and you can auto prioritize what you need at times. It’s the best of both worlds.
    I really hope after seeing other brands jump on the dedicated dials bandwagon Fuji reincorporates dedicated dials into the next X-H camera.

    • @wildandfreevictoria
      @wildandfreevictoria  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is interesting you swapped as well, have you enjoyed your move? I find all the dials on the fujis systems a lot faster and easy to find with your hands rather than having to keep taking your eye away.
      And for future X-H series I would love to see more dials too, I think they could remove the mini display screen on the top and just put a dial in it’s place - but just my opinion 😅

    • @Imhotep397
      @Imhotep397 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@wildandfreevictoria Definitely regret nothing about switching, well maybe a few lenses, even then it’s been a good update and refresh.
      The dials give direct access where the menu system/semi-custom remapping driven method is an indirect access method. I guess it’s just down to the camera person, but I’m way faster with dials for most scenarios too. I still have more to figure out though.
      I do like the e ink screen on the X-H cameras. They had all the dials and the screen on the first one, so they could just go back.
      I’m not a fan of Fuji constantly describing some of the designs as retro styling only, as if there are no practical advantages to having dedicated dials, but what can you do?

    i got an old X-E1 ten years ago after using Nikon 35mm cameras... and it taught me more about photography than i previously knew... It was also similar in size and had a character of its own. After a few years i also got the X-T1, another amazing camera and they made a great pair of users. i'm a nature photographer and the colour's from a Fuji lens and camera can not be matched... i started with the XF 18-55 then bought the XF 60 macro and then the XF 35... i love the old sensor in these early Fuji's... A year ago i bought the X-M1 for some street work, an amazing discrete little camera and the same sensor as the X-E1... i have a large collection of vintage lenses, the old glass and Fuji's sensor match so well... i love my Fuji's and would never part with them... i wish i could afford an X-T2 never mind a new one... There's something about my Fuji system, it's always with me no matter where i go, a trustworthy companion that has never let me down. Thank you for your videos Victoria, thank you for choosing Fuji... The only place i display my work is on the Fuji users sites on Facebook, a great community of Fuji users.
    Love and happy happenings.
