An elephant's mom and the females of the herd constantly touch each other all over with their trunks as a sign of affection. I think the cloth feels a bit like elephant trunks touching it all over; it's very emotionally soothing and makes the elephant feel loved. Chailert’s lullaby is sweet and soothing too.

Since then, other baby elephants were born there, and also have been the only elephants in the world never to suffer at Man's abusive hands. Faa Mai is a happy girl, polite to everyone, very sociable, very happy, just as she should be. She loves to be a nanny to the other young ones, and looks after them, giving their moms a rest. People need to understand that elephants are standardly very abused by Man when they're toddlers, around age 5, and throughout their lives, however not at this place. Love elephants!

She barely ate, stopping barking and just laid around just like a depressed human. She had never been a lap dog, but I could put her in my lap and she wouldn't move. She had always been a high energy yapper. Even my husband whom always ignored her, wondered what was wrong with her. I was worried that she was going to mourn herself to death. We got her when she was just 6 wks old and she didn't know what to do without her big buddy. Her half sister joined out family shortly after the death of our boy and they have become the best of friends. (She hated her the first few days) Watch the movie Hachi, staring Richard Gere, based on a true story, about a dogs love.
