- Ethiopia has successfully completed the third phase of filling the reservoir of its mega-dam on the Blue Nile, despite protests from Sudan and Egypt, which border the Nile downstream.

Egypt should find something else to gripe about. Now that the dam is filled, all inflows will result in an equal outflow since input=output. In other words Egypt and Sudan, 1 billion cubic meters in= 1billion cubic meters out. I'm sure your engineers know that. Talk to them!

South Africa is paying millions of $ to get water from Lesotho. Egypt should be prepared either to pay billions of $ to get water from Ethiopia or gradually forget Nile and resort to desalinization of sea water and exploit its vast ground water resources. Currently Ethiopia has over 120 million people and unable to feed with one time rain dependent production in a year. By 2050 the population of Ethiopia will be more than double, and the country has to double its food production. This will be possible only by doubling production season in a year which can only be possible by using every drop of its rivers waters for irrigation, drinking, sanitation and others. Egypt should be ready for this reality. I do not know when this will happen. May be after 50, 70 or 100 years. It will be a forced reality for Ethiopia too that Egypt should accept as Ethiopia is not having alternative water resource that Egypt is having from sea and underground
