Every time I need some information and type in the search bar what topic I always end up coming to your channel! Lol. It's so informative and helpful with my baby girl. Thank you for doing your videos!
Tummy time was such a contrast in our home. Our eldest daughter could not get enough of it and LOVED her tummy but our second daughter absolutely hated it! Thanks so much for sharing your great tips!
I’ve been watching your videos since I was pregnant. I had my son on Mother’s Day and labor was amazing due to your video on breathing technique. I will continue to watch and I’ve subscribed as well. Thank you
And what if it takes forever to get baby to sleep? Tummy time 20 minutes past a feed? My baby is drowsy so I want to get her down! Before a feed she’ll be hungry! I’m so confused
Hi Bridget, thank you for making this and tackling the tummy time topic! We mostly used a play mat for our tummy time! And regarding the helpers...You mentioned a moving rattling noise, black/white visuals, looking at a mirror.... we actually implemented EVERYTHING you said in our tummy time helper app (which is completely free this Christmas week, from 19th to 25th of December), would love to hear what you think about it if possible!
Hi, any recommendations for my baby who struggles with tummy time? She just doesn’t like being on tummy and starts crying having to use her strengths in lifting herself up. Thank you
Most babies (including all of mine) hate tummy time. It's frustrating. Try laying down with your shoulders propped up so you're not completely flat. Put your baby on your chest, so they're laying on their tummy at an angle on top of you. The angle and you being there will help them push/lift themselves up. My kids didn't really do it as much as they should have, and they turned out fine, in fact my daughter was running at 9-10 months.
@@threearrows2248 this great to know! My little guy hates it, the most he'll last is 2 -3 minutes if he's in the mood for it of course. He's 2 Months old. I'll definitely be trying out the chest thing, he'll probably enjoy that more. Great tip! 👍
Mine he' just turned 3 months old and he just cries no matter how many toys and songs we play for him. He had really bad reflux and now wants nothing to do with tummy time. He just lays there crying
My baby as well. 3 months premature, will be 4 months old in a week. She doesn't keep her head straight while laying on her back; which is causing flat head so doctor has asked for physiotherapy. Could you please share if everything went well for you and what you did to help your baby.
I have a question. I want to do more chest to chest. I sleep with my baby on my chest most of the night. She's two weeks old. But it's winter time. It's cold. I don't wear a shirt so she knows my skin is there. But im too scared to not have her wear a shirt in winter time. I don't want her to get sick. What's your advice?
And also when she is on my chest she just sleeps. She's not really awake quite often except to feed right now. She eats and sleeps most of the time. She stays up maybe for an hour a day collectively where she isn't being fed...and she's just up
I see that you wrote this comment a year ago, if you don't mind, could you tell, if starting tummy time at 3 months affected their development somehow? My boy is 2 months old and I hate torturing him with tummy time so I'm not doing it enough
I see no one responding to these questions. I would like to help. Tummy time should start right away on mamas chest. If you hadn’t started until later(2-3months or even more) it’s probably best to start on them on your chest first, rather than the floor right away. Do it for a few minutes a handful of times a day. It will depend on the baby. You can tell if they are enjoying it that you can do it for longer and more frequently. If you have a baby who isn’t enjoying it you’ll still want to do it just for less time if possible but still try a couple times a day. Your baby will begin to get used to this and it will eventually become more comfortable for the baby. It is necessary for development to do tummy time so keep trying and it will keep getting better. In most cases their development will not have been effected too much by 2-3 months but maybe a little at first. Usually(with most babies, without underlying issues) your baby will catch up in development. Don’t worry you’re doing great! 😊
We have attempted to do tummy time since baby girl was born- but she had bad reflux and hates tummy time still to this day six months in. We cannot get her to try past five minutes before she is too upset to continue. Any tips?
@@p3ischarmed13 I was pretty worried about it for a while but my mom said she never did tummy time for any of my siblings and I do other activities with him. I know it’s important but a lot of babies don’t like tummy time so what are we suppose to do force them to be uncomfortable 😅

I love doing tummy time with my 3 month old but she ends up throwing up badly every time we do it . I burp her well and I wait 30 mins after a meal to do it some times even more and she always throws up. Any tips on this?
It's hard for tummy time when my baby was in NICU for the first 3 weeks of her life. She's having heart surgery soon so I'm. Worried about her not being able to do what she needs to do as a 4-6 month old baby. She is having her surgery around that time
But is it safe to start tummy time right away when they are newborns if their necks are so weak? Is starting tummy time a little later, like around 2 months when their neck control becomes stronger, okay? Or will waiting later put babies at a disadvantage developmentally?
Tummy time builds their strength so you want to do it as soon as possible- the day you bring your baby home even! You can do tummy time with them on you!
My baby was born 2mo premature. I've been doing tummy time since she came home at 1mo, but she cries every time and I'm not sure if I should be doing it. I think I've been crying more than she has 😥

Mine did too! I found a video that said what to do if your baby hates it and they said to start with different levels of difficulty so start out with a pillow or boppy that is supporting the weight of their chest and put a hand on their bum to help them with the weight distribution. You can also assist by holding their elbows so that it’s easier. As they get stronger you can slowly remove these props and helping hands and it should be more enjoyable for them! Also a mirror or fav toy in front of them may help!
