I always remember getting scam by the guy at game stop over ultimate Tenkaichi. He wouldn’t let me return it back all I could do was switch for a different game.
Fun Fact: This is not a Tenkaichi game, in Japan, it's called Ultimate **Blast**. Since it also reuses a bunch of Raging Blast 2 models, it's pretty obvious that this is meant to be a Raging Blast game (not that that makes it any better)
I was maybe around 12 or so when I had gotten my hands on Ultimate Tenkaichi when it first came out, and even being an avid dragon ball fan/nerd back then I could tell something was so off about this game. I remember having difficulty beating the Red Shenron at the end of the Created Characters story, but besides that I think it may have been the first time I regreted just blindingly buying something dragon ball.
Tbh the only one thing I wouldn't mind Budokai Tenkaichi 4 taking from ultimate Tenkaichi is the explosive and destructive environments and the damage cutscenes they had after taking a guy from an high power ultimate attack everything else leave it in the trash
Ultimate Tenkaichi is a game that *looks* cool as hell and like it *should* be fun to play. It just fails to deliver when you're actually holding the controller.
In my opinion the different combat was fun because it was something new. I was little when I played it so I remember feeling like I had to rack my brain in order to win difficult fights.
Only think i loved abt that game was the battle damage system because it made you truly feel like your character took serious damage unlike the newer games
I still can’t wrap my head around the decision for doing this… I remember this coming out and buying it with my bday money when I was 11, and woooooo did I go right back to tenkaichi 3 on my Wii so fast😂
I hate this game because this game play is what we got for YEARS. The "close/far" split is so bad and feels so boring. Even in Xenoverse all the charecters feel the same to me.
The name does the most damage to this game. They definitely shouldn't have called this Tenkaichi because that gives people the wrong impression of what this games supposed to be. Based on the way big ki blasts and other normally easily avoidable attacks work, I think this was supposed to just be like a biblically accurate Dragon Ball simulator to give a more accurate(?) Dragon ball experience. But no one but insane people would actually buy it if they marketed the game like that so, to make money on this bold idea, they tricked us with a name we recognized
I was so excited for this game when it came out. I traded it back to Game Stop 2 days later. I HATED it! Which was sad cause I loved the entire Budokai series up till then. Every iteration felt like it improved upon the last in almost every field. Then comes this piece of shit...
As a kid I actually enjoyed this game somehow😂. I bought it again to see how it’s aged for me and yeah it’s so bad, this game should’ve been an easy home run just take what they had with Raging Blast 2 and improve it. The surface level of this game is great, good music good graphics and art style inspired by the Kanzenban covers Toriyama made, but it’s like every second after that you see something new wrong with it everytime😂. Should’ve took all the existing roster from RB2 and expanded it with GT and OG characters, these new graphics, same gameplay style as before just tweaked to make it better maybe adding some new mechanics but not changing it, making hero mode a bit more in depth with how it works and better story, and boom there you have a fantastic game. Also want to mention that hero mode does have a lot more hairs and outfits you just have to unlock them, my favorite part of this one over Xenoverse is that you can color all the outfits and that the hair actually spikes up when you go ssj I hate that in Xenoverse it stays the same just changes colors.
i saw your video and i didn't put subtiles , i am studying english and i was testing my english and i think that i have a really god english , i'm writting this and i dont use a translator , hope that im write this correct jajaja , PD: i use so much i
You keep saying the graphics looked great, I kinda dissagree as to me they look worse than Raging Blast 1-2 especially because to me Raging Blast 1 is in my top 3 best looking dragon ball games with FighterZ and Kakarot.
To call this trash a game feels like a crime against the fan base. I have high hopes for sparking zero as an older db fan but I am worried that it might end up just becoming another xenoverse where individual skill isnt important as it was with the original tenkaichi and raging blast titles.
Very underrated this is in my top three Dragon Ball Z games I wish it had gotten a sequel granted the hero story mode was short but it was I enjoyed it I remember using super large spiritball on the Omega Shenron for the finisher and fighting ultimate Shenron that was shocking
@@IndexInvestingWithCole oh haha no worries but ya, this game had sooo much hype and was genuinely that bad LOL i have 0 idea what they were thinking with this combat style
I honestly thought this game got too much hate but after playing it mhself, the game quickly got boring woth how the animations kept repeating themselves and it got old quickly

Wow, it must have been a big disappointment then
THERE'S GONNA BE A TENKAICHI 4!!!!!!!
What, trading a whole new game for free ? I see no big deal about it
Did the same to me

That's what I tell some people, this is raging blast 3 with a different name.

Raging blast are (sparking) Tenkaichi games

I remember my friend bringing this game over for us to play many years ago. We played it once for about an hour, then never played it again lol
This game makes me feel like Im playing one of the card-based 'fighting' arcade game
Yeah matches became rock paper scissors. And then the melee vs blast characters and such. This game had promise but the fighting killed it
Even those games has actual strategy, planning, and more involvement... and more animations... and nowhere near as repetitive...

That “Tenkaichi” in the name scammed lots of us back in the days, I know

i always saw this more as a dragonballz DDR or rythm game without having yo actually press buttons on the tunes of the bg music.

Why dont modders just remove the rock-paper-scissors mechanics?
The whole game is based around them, so at that point they'd have to program an entirely new combat system
@@ChikaJihyo It would be more easy making a fan-game at that point

"You can only put 3 different hairstyles and 2 outfits"
You unlock way more as you progress in the story though...?

Dragonball games went down the shitter as soon as this game came out, the majority of the games that came out afterward aren't worth mentioning.
Except XenoVerse 2 kakarot and fighter z they are worth mentioning

I'm glad you enjoyed the game, I just didn't feel the same
Awesome reviews man! very well done.
Thank you!
This game was a let down
Sadly 🥺
That game should be revoked of the ultimate Tenkaichi name
You cant lie tho, IT HAS IS MOMENTS🗣️🗣️🗣️
Cómo está tío Isma?
the only good part of this game was the idea of making a hero mode otherwise its trash
"The game that KILLED Dragon Ball"

The game that killed dragon ball?
I think he means more that it killed Dragon ball Tenkaichi series

hey its not bad!
Clickbaity title, truly a hack.
Imo it’s the best dbz game

Even Budokai Tenkaichi 1 was better then this lol
yeah this game so bad
Ultimate Trash is just Budokai 3's awful dragon rush mechanic as a whole game.
