Arne Hurnik they made the chassis to look and feel like a muscle car first performance car later they just want them to go fast in a straight line if you buy one expecting it to be good on a trw ch first of all your an idiot second your missing the point and third no one wants the challenger ti be a tiny sports car that goes on a track

I'd rather push through it a little harder because you'll push the water out of the way... going slow the bigger the possibility that it'll come through the door seals.

Don't do it. Turn around. Go back. Unless you have a Jeep and even then move slowly. A few drops of water is all it takes to destroy your car.
Toyota owners, Toyotas hate, hate water. Many many Toyotas suck in air BELOW the wheel line. Don't do it. Not worth it. Most manufacturers will NOT COVER hydrolock under warranty. Even Jeep looks at Jeeps on a case by case bases.

Back in the eighties my friend had an '82 0r '84 Toyota 4x4 pickup truck. We were off roading and came to a spot where there was a stretch of about a hundred feet of deep water, looked to be around 3 to 4 feet deep. He asked me if he should go for it and I said," I wouldn't if I were you". He went anyway, and the water was up to the windows . He had 34 inch tires on the thing and it was coming over the hood but we made it. It was brand new and he gave no shits. Vivid memory.

+grayboo212 So how much over sticker were you paying for the Demon? 😉

    • @grayboo212
      @grayboo212 7 ปีที่แล้ว

$1000 below invoice plus my green slip from Chrysler! If you go to Ebay right now, there are 3 people selling their “allocation” for this car. 1 guy claims he received 2 allocations and is using one for himself and selling the other. Then in another auction it appears it’s the same guy (brand new Ebay account as of a few days ago and the auction format is nearly identical as the first one I mentioned) claiming he received 3 allocations and is keeping one and selling the others. The auction price is just to ensure you get to order the car. You still will need to pay for the car itself (supposedly at MSRP).

I have a Hellcat, getting wider rubber on the rear was easy on a car without those garish flares. I replaced the wheels and was able to get 275's on the front and 315's out back. Stock it made 687 hp, add 15% for the drive train and it's making est. 787 hp at the crank. That Demon is making a lot more than 850 hp on pump gas.

On a normal hemi in like a 300c you would hydrolock it because the air intake is low with the factory air box. Anything more than a foot of water and you are taking a big risk once you start plowing through that water and it builds up in height. You shoulda done it!!! Haha

I just took possession of my Florida based Demon on Friday. I paid a whopping $93,768,98 for it with zero miles.
I had my Hellcat Challenger for almost a year. Purchased it for $75,998,98 including an extra set of four wheels and tires with locks in addition to one of the best audio systems on Earth.
Just today I spoke with Kelly Blue Book rep, My Hellcat is now worth.......wait for it.......$51, 258,75 AND my brand new, yet to be unwrapped (still waiting for the Demon Crate) is currently worth.......just for taking delivery by having it towed on a flat bed to my residence. Wait for it.......$72, 5575.00 with the crate not commanding ANY price as it is considered accessories which are basically worthless.
Next year the Hellcat will take another $12,000 depreciation. The Hellcat I drive nearly daily and it currently has 13, 450 miles on its odometer.
I was told the Hellcat would most certainly take a depreciation hit BUT the Demon would only gain at least $10,000. with zero miles and each year it is maintained but not driven Only the first year would see depreciation while the second year will begin recovery until it slighty passes the purchase price in under five years.
Now my 2016 Audi R8 V10 Plus cost $229,345.98 brand new with seven miles on the odometer. It has currently 18,000 miles due to two trips from NYC to Miami where it is being stored for the summer. The other cars in my collection all went down on two semis and right into my underground garage with room for 24 cars in total......21 of those stalls are now full as Miami Beach is now my permanent residence. It cost me $44,000. to have them hauled down in secure airtight trailers to be stored in my recently renovated top to bottom garage space at the cost of $250,000. for the building and another $87,950. for the eight foot high three foot thick solid impenetrable concrete fence and two stage electric gate that opens on demand by a unit fitted under the front bumper of each car. These openers are also GPS units which will work up to 500 miles in the ocean should someone somehow take them out of my 12 security camera garage. On the outside of the garage and the concrete fence.. I have installed 56 - 8 ft tall hedges which will fill out in two years time to totally block all concrete leaving only a metal lined gate exposed that matches the facade of my home. There are also 150 individual vines that will totally attach to every inch of the concrete wall eventually forming huge trunks supporting the year round foliage, The architect and landscape architect have designed a totally invisible garage, wall and gate with four break proof glass skylights that provide natual light for the space. The garage designed will install solar panels which will slide over the skylights hiding them from view as well.
In all I have spent well over $28 million dollars on everything car related from purchase prices, theft deterrent systems in each vehicle as well as the new storage facility.
Was it all worth it I continue to ask myself? The last car of my collection, the second Demon which will be driven every dry weekend in Miami and SO FL, will arrive in early August as I paid close to $125,000 for it as one of the very last vehicles to be sold at a tremendous markup by a Dodge Dealership marketed as being the last Demon produced.
To you, would this all be worth the money I spent on assembling the collection in addition to the storage and transportation as well as two full time well known super car mechanics and one detailer who will all live in the 3 bdrm. 3 bath apartment attached to the house who specialize in full on build outs of any high perfomrance car being produced and driven today; They signed three year contracts with me with salaries of $150,00.00 each for the mechanics as well as $80,000.00 for the full time detailer vehicle PA who will be responsible for keeping all cars dust free and spotless in all areas of the cars. My house help will maintain the apartment housing the three men. Each year they will receive a bonus in adiition to a 4% cost of living pay increase. All seem to be very happy with our arrangement so we wil go from here to see how lnog my car family is taken care of.
Cost being no factor, would you do all of this for the worlds most desired cars? They actually are a part of my family and I will forever care for them at any costl

Just seeing someone talking about taking a hellcat to that situation was painful...

They should have made the hydraulic steering an option. Makes me think the regular Hellcat will be the better daily driver. Nothing worse than not getting any feel of the road when cornering and normal handling of various roads.
