When my late husband passed away in 2012 and the estate was settled, I got everything. I gave our children their portion, and that was it. I'm so glad that I didn't have to go through anything messy like this. It is a shame and sad that things like this happen. 😔

My father-in-law has a cousin who is married and has had a girlfriend for about 20 years. I don't understand the point. He even broke up with his girlfriend for a short time recently because his wife started getting jealous, but then got back together with his girlfriend. Maybe the marriage is just about financial and tax convenience. It is legit 18th century royal marriage material, just political reasons for being married with longtime girlfriends outside of the marriage.

There are plenty of step parents who step into the role of parent & share close bonds with their step children. That was uncalled for IMO.

I’m not sure why it was necessary for the plaintiff to bring up the childrens relation to the the plaintiff and her deceased husband. You don’t have to be biologically related to be considered a parent. They took those kids in. That was hella messy on her part.

Judges are not psychiatrists nor are they welfare officials. How many undertakers weep, how many pathologists/Drs weep during the performance of their duties!
