Tabitha, I really appreciate your knowledge. I am a man that discovered I had diastasis recti last year. I was looking for ways to improve my singing and posture and learned about the transverse abdominis muscles. I then learned about its connection with the pelvic floor. I always heard from vocal coaches that the pelvic floor is important in breathing but I didn't think much of it until now. I want to start doing 360 breathing and zip up exercises daily. It sounds like this can improve posture, breathing, mood, and overall wellbeing. God bless you for helping people. I pray you and your family do very well. :)
Oh thank you so much! Yes the diaphragm, the pelvic floor, and DR are all related in some way. When one thing is off it can throw the whole thing off! It's incredible how our body works! I would love to know how fast everything recovers once you start breathing properly 🙏 Good luck on the singing! I wish I could sing but there's no hope for me 😆 God Bless!
You can while you start the breathing process. As you get stronger you can pull you belt in more and more on the inhale. As your core strengthens the less you have to fully relax the core muscles. Contracting and holding your abs during the breathing exercise as you get stronger is like doing a repetition with weights your muscles are actively working at that time. But again if you're new to this breathing process and you don't know how to keep your core strong the whole time tighten only on the exhale.

This actually requires practice and awareness! I realize I'm doing too much breathing into my belly. Thanks so much Tabitha!!!
You're welcome! Yes it does! Such a "simple" exercise that can become so hard and is so beneficial!

will this help hypertonic pelvic floor muscles please please reply thank you so much
I’d like to know too
During inhale, is the abs contracted?
No
Are you supposed to let your tummy ‘hang out’ on an inhale?
