  • My 4th gen Camaro Z28 is 26 years old and has 229,000 miles on it. I think it could use some cleaning power of Sea Foam 🙂.

    Personally, I recommend Berryman's fuel system cleaner. Seafoam was designed for 2 stroke outboard motors with oil in the fuel. That said, it would probably work great on a cr250. Nice Camaro too, probably needs an Italian tune up.

      Agree. Berryman B12 Chemtool is awesome stuff. Way stronger than Seafoam and BG44K. Seafoam is sooooo overrated lol

    I bought an LT1 Camaro slight used almost 30 years ago. I am in shock how long it has been. These are nice cars. The 1996 is the first year of the OBDII. The O2 sensors get a little "jazzed up" when you induce that much fluid into the intake. They sense that and the CEL comes on. All I do is clear it and your good to go. Mystic Teal Metallic wasn't that popular but looks refreshing here.

    Love that 96 Z28! Weird about that wire. Probably the overheating issue. The needles like to get hot then cool off. Freaks me out on mine too, but definitely normal hahaha cant wait to see more of this Z28. Love the seat pattern too. Keep up the awesome videos.

    I had to use the wire before like you found to test if my fans would come on. More then likely the owner forgot about it.
    As far as temps. I did a full flush about 4x😅. And ran nothing but water until i could get all that dexcool out of the system. Switch to the green stuff and used water wet. My temps never go above the middle line. Im still on stock temp thermostat.
    I used the method on (shbox) for cleaning/replacing the coolant.

    I recommend Berryman… Berryman B12 Chemtool is wayyy stronger stuff than Seafoam or BG44K. Makes Seafoam seem like child’s play when you see which one actually cleans intake valves and combustion chambers better.

    Definitely one of the best things you can do, especially on second had cars. Good move.

    The carbon deposits may have temporarily fouled the o2 sensors. This also happens sometimes when jet hot coating or ceramic coating on exhaust manifolds or headers residues burn off and ruin o2 sensors.

    let us know how the car runs in the next few weeks ! i’m willing to bet all that sea foam the mpg will go up and it will run loads better ! i can’t wait to do this to my 93 z28 adter i give her a tune up and throw my long tube headers in

      Try a can of Berryman B12 Chemtool in your fuel tank. Then see how awesome it runs on the Berryman. Thank me later…. Lol

    That temp would make me really nervous. I have had several 4th gens and none of them has made it to that last hash unless it was on its way to overheating. Most of the time it would be right in the middle and that still made me nervous lol. One of my first mods to each of them was changing to a cooler thermostat and turning the fans on at earlier temps. Just for the kicks of it I would bleed the system one last time and hey, you can even do a video on it to show how to properly bleed the air out because that is a huge topic on these cars. Also I am sure you are aware but since I noticed it on the video I have to comment about it lol. The metal bracket on the back of the fuel door is to hold your gas cap while fueling. As always a great video that's educational, and always love the scenery there.

      how can do exactly this? i have done the thermostate but how do i get the fans to come on sooner?

    • @4thgenZ28
      @4thgenZ28 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ButtonUpSystems You can do it a couple of ways. You can reprogram the computer to turn them on earlier, or you can purchase a manual fan switch to where you can turn them on whenever you choose to.

      Well your supposedbto change coolant at 100k miles. And if yours has dexcool i would suggest getting completely rid off that gm junk.
      Ichanged mines to the green stuff + water wet. After doing a full flush and clean of the system. My car temp does not go above the middle line no matter how long i sit idling. And im on stock thermostat.
