We love watching the new building get built. But we would have put our initials in the ramp LOL. For my birthday I got to visit with Mike from Mike’s critters and got to hold his normal hognose snake. That snake has never played dead, she was a girl and I loved it so much. I also got a hold another snake that was a bigger python. And then he showed us his Black widow but it was in a jar. The grand finale was his crested gecko and it loved me so much I had a picture taken when was on my shoulder.
Hey there! Fun Fact: in Switzerland (and many other european countires) there is a native legless lizard. In german its called Blindschleiche (anguis fragilis) and they are actually very common in Switzerland. They especially like to come out when it's raining, and our cat sometimes hunted them. Not really. Some may take them but most probably wont. It's because they arent like earthworms, they're actually larvae. Mealworms turn into beetles, idk exactly about all the rest.

Pretty much all animals shed their skin as they grow. Humans / mammals can skin small amounts of skin cells all of the time, whereas scales typically need to come off in larger patches or all at once.
Last Sunday, it was super nice outside at our house. I took our big Ball Python, Sully, outside for a nice bath & slither around the yard a bit. Our neighbors, whom we hadn't really met yet, were walking on our dirt road. Mom & two young boys, 6 & 4 years old. Well, they saw us with this big, chubby snake & got interested! We invited them to come see him & they had LOTS of questions, knew NOTHING about snakes. We spent over a half hour with them & mom & the older boy actually touched him! It's so much fun to educate people, especially kids, about how cool snakes are. I know Emily enjoys her educational programs, I can see why. Here in Georgia, too many people think EVERY snake is a vicious, venomous Copperhead & kids tend to grow up scared of ALL snakes. Sully was a perfect gentleman, as always, and really changed their opinion of snakes. Nice to make new friends & hopefully, affect their perception of these awesome animals. Thanks for all you guys do to increase knowledge & hopefully, help save some native snakes along the way!
