I love the off voice and the quality of this videos. Talking about a car while driving it with that background music. It's so relaxing. Beatiful videos, greets from Argentina
Carfection's cinematography always puts a massive smile on my face, besides the car that's being presented and the presenter itself. Well done Henry and the others!
This car isn't meant for luxury. This car is a high performance supercar, just like the old 8 series. 7 series is for you if you're looking for luxury 🤦
You're not wrong at all if history tells us anything. Even the new M5 Comp has depreciated massively and you can pick a nearly new high specced car for around 60% of it's original cost. It's worth waiting for a nearly new car unless you're rich and you want to spec your own car.
@Ouchwitz Summer Camp because it looks good to some people and it is luxurious. Who'd buy an M8 anyway following your reasoning. People would just buy a cheap ass car.
How to do m car review: 1. Talk about all the new stuff on it 2. Mention the m button then proceed to go ham with the car 3. Praise the car for being super fast 4. Complain that its missing something and could be dialed down a bit
@@odfkjdhgovj mat watson i feel is limited by what he can say because of his platform - carwow isnt his own channel and he is employed by them. If you watch his reviews on his own channel theyre a lot better. Also, i feel like his style also suits the normal person more than the car enthusiast. This would compliment the other two if they were to be on top gear as you'd need a blend of personalities and styles
This is a dream car. Underrated. I’m suspicious, because I really love the brand. So, I can imagine how fun this car is. Here, in Brazil, a car like this would cost the same as a big house, with swimming pool and all the stuff.
I have one. I sold my 2020 Continental GT and bought this. It's just a much, much better car in every way and BMW customer service is also better than at Bentley.
Just cannot understand the reasons behind the styling on this thing. It's not ugly, but neither is it memorable, classic, purposeful; nothing. Leaves me completely cold.
I guess it's down to personal taste, there aren't many pretty BMWs full stop in my view, it has always been their weakest link always hit and miss over the decades. The 507 was the best simple clean pure lines.... all these date horribly and hence their depreciation also. Bu the driving aspects of M cars have mostly been very good.
When I was a kid this guy at my mosque had a BMW 850 CSI. I would stop and stare at it whenever I saw it in the parking lot. If I saw this modern M8 I don't think I'd be as full of awe. Maybe that's because I'm not a kid anymore, but maybe it's also because this car isn't as special.
Great mix of sportiness, elegance and luxury, I guess that's why the old 635CSi was so desirable. BMW lost the plot with later 850i and 6-series iterations. Fortunately, the newest 8-series have that extra special, it's once again one of the best options for a 2+2 coupé.
I think the biggest issue with the new M8 is the M850i. It's still got over 500 horsepower and with less rigid suspension it makes for a more relaxing drive, if you wanted a powerful, capable grand tourer from bmw I don't see why you would spring for the extra hundred horse
I am absolutely a massive fan of this car, but unless I was a multi millionaire I'd be looking on autotrader for a nearly new M5 Comp for literally 1/2 the price. A highly specced M5 Comp with a few thousand miles on it can be had for about £65k. The M8 Comp is not THE most powerful M car ever produced, it's ONE of the most powerful. The M5 Comp got the 625ps engine first, so has the M8 Comp, and so will the X5/6 comps... and no, the M8 comp is no quicker than the M5 comp.
@Rubedo Alaberti Didn't say I would buy it. I'm saying M8 is more exclusive than the M5 because no Tom Dick and Harry would be first buying the 840i which is very expensive for a 3 l turbo vehicle. Most buyers of the 8 series would top up and get the m850i and a small percentage will get the M8. As for the 5 series, too many wannabes out there buying them and rebadging them to look like M5s. With that kind of money, I'd go for more exclusivity.
Very professional review me darling and such a wonderful looking car. I don’t know what it is but to me just hearing the name 8 Series BMW kinda has a special ring to it far more than any of the others. It looks awesome, it sounds awesome 😎 and being a tech head myself I love the technology it has. I personally drive a Mini Countryman Cooper S fully loaded. Now we all know the running gear, engine and tech is BMW to know this you just have to drive it. I’d feel very comfortable in the M8 no worries, but I’d have a hard choice to choose between the Convertable or Hardtop. Keep up the great work me flower and look forward to your next review. XX 💋
For all of this M8's skillsets it's a reminder of how much has changed at the House of M. I'd much rather have an E24 Sharknose M6 for its purity, classic 6, and authentic engine note.
Am I the only person to think that when one gets to the age when they can afford, and justify the cost, of buying one of these, and having taken ones mates from the pub for a ride in to play with all the modes, it is forever left in comfort and the modes never touched again?
No you are not wrong to think it and absolutely factually correct. Most of these buttons and options are just marketing bundled gimmicks, to help the marketing guys charge more and explain what you get for your money. Practically speaking if you go back a couple of decades a well sorted passive car set up never needed another option, it just did it all, perfectly. The emphasis was on get in and drive... but I put this down to the playstation or xbox whatever your preference, era of today's buyers... they like buttons and gadgets to press and pretty lights and different screens...etc.etc. etc. I actually switch my nav infotainment screen off at night and you would be amazed how that strains your eyes while driving with glare.... I almost had an accident with the whole car setup in comfort once because the car was so slow to drop down and accelerate.... it's not always good, hence it lives in auto now..
Can't help but feel like BMW lost their way a bit on this one. Good looking car, but forgettable because they're unsure of what they want the car to be. I'd just as rather buy the 850 and save the $30K+. Beautiful cinematography and great commentary to match, as always

Viva la top gear
Beautifully shot. Hard to believe this was all in one day with one (very talented) cameraman. Epic stuff as always guys
Carfection's cinematography always puts a massive smile on my face, besides the car that's being presented and the presenter itself. Well done Henry and the others!
Agreed.
I agree 👍
I can’t see how is this really that much more luxurious than the M5, bit more expensive but still. Also I freaking love the crystal gear-shift lever.
I sat in it at the LA auto show, meh... It's nice inside of course but doesn't blow you away, it lacks character to inside to
its a Coupe, so cooler for sure
This car isn't meant for luxury. This car is a high performance supercar, just like the old 8 series. 7 series is for you if you're looking for luxury 🤦
Sat in an M850i at Goodwood, and it barely feels any more than a 5 Series. Can't see how this is worth the extra 40k over an M5
@@VaunShiz Well he blow me away, absolutely gorgeous car.
This channel does the best car reviews out of everyone
Carwow
Oi leave Mat alone
No hate to carwow, just I like this style best
Autotopnp is the best!
Chris fuckin harris m8
Something about BMW's that always attracts me.
I think it's character lines on the bodywork.
The older ones are prettier than the new ones. This 8series is one of the nicest looking ina long time.
I sometimes watch a Henry review when I want some peace in the evening in bed, he’s like therapy. What a nice guy! Good luck to you my friend.
£140K 🤯 I might be wrong but this thing is going to depreciate like a stone

As do most cars but I agree, this will be a heavy stone.
A concrete slab falling off a tower block
Nope. Most cars are like that especially European ones.
Or the opposite.... as electric cars are dawning on us this could be the very last and very best M car.
Are you kidding me? The glass controls are a very nice touch. I have it in my X7 50i
So beautiful!!!
Awesome work from BMW!!!
Henry, love the way that you present vehicles. Very informative, down-to-earth and always entertaining. Cheers from New Zealand.
Beautifully shot. Love how you revealed the convertible
Can you do a video where henry talks about his Omega ?
I assume you're aware but just in case, it's a Speedmaster Moonwatch.
Ouchwitz Summer Camp so much
@Ouchwitz Summer Camp Did you come to this car review expecting him to say, "It's got wheels, it goes, that's it."?
@Ouchwitz Summer Camp you know shit about watches.

Another 4k review masterpiece
Absolutely, this is the best car review channel on TH-cam. Very relaxing to watch.
Big fan of the M8 but I'm most interested in the Gran Coupe. Hopefully M8GC reviews will start popping up soon.
Best damn car reviewer on the internet! Love this show!
Those yellow/amber headlights look gorgeous in that setting, lovely!
Can we pls get Henry, Chris Harris and Mat Watson for a "new" new Top Gear trio?
No
Hell no
Henry and Chris yes, Mat absolutely bloody not. Nowhere near on the level of the others.
I’d take Henry, Chris and instead of annoying Matt, get Harry from Harry’s garage instead.

The convertible one especially for me.

Most beautiful BMW money can buy atm. A drop dead gorgeous car.

Misnomer! Now that’s a word you don’t hear every day Henry
Great video guys. The convertible was my favourite too

See it in person yetM
Its beautiful in person
I've seen it in person, and I totally agree that it's not ugly but not wow beautiful either. Disappointing considering it's their "flagship" car.

Can't wait until the review of the M8 GC comes out!
Awww, I liked the hideous glass shifter knob thing
Henry is just THE BEST !
This is like the new Jeremy Clarkson type reviews & the grand tour does their classic trips together.
I´d rather watch 24h of Henry then a 60 y/o man getting lost with a boat.

Great timing I found this episode during home quarantine busting my boredom I'm no fan of the subject car but great video review
Love the B Roll
wow very nice camera resolution! Looks very good
Great job Henry , press on! Cheers
A comparison between the M8 and MB S63 AMG would be great😍 greetings from Italy
Haven't been a fan of BMW for a few decades. But the M8 is just down right sexy.
can Henry do some road bike reviews? i think he’s become the best reviewer out there pretty immediately
I struggle with the idea "softer edged" Motorsport version of a car
Should I watch this well made review or Mr JWW's latest video of a bunch of young rich dudes showing off? Humm
This was a much kinder review than Henry gave to the Mercedes S65 Coupé, even though the two cars are quite similar.
