Thanks... now if you could only come up with a way to FPP an XPR7550 without the “option board” . We have quite a few users who purchased them over the Hytera DMR portables. The Motorola receive audio seems to be better, but the HYT (PD982 / PD782G u1 and u2 / X1P and PD682 models) all offer the ability to change most codeplug options in the field w/o CPS. (TX-RX freq / CC / talk slot / etc for digital channels & TX-RX freq / TX-RX PL+DPL / channel spacing 12.5 or 25khz / signaling - MDC or QC2/ etc) Nice channel,. Thanks !
Thank you ! The option board is pretty much required with the XPR series IIRC as the architecture of the radio requires it. As you have found the DMR FPP is available in lower tier product lines for much less expense. I did a video on the alinco some time back and it does offer limited FPP for DMR while allowing full FPP options on analog. Personally I prefer the 6550 to the 7550 but everyone has their preferences. Thanks for watching !
@@Porty1119 Not saying the 7550 is a bad radio .Its all personal preference. Since you asked what I prefer about the 6550. I prefer the ergonomics of the 6550. I prefer the simple 6550 display , I think the audio is better on the 6550, I don't like the proprietary antenna of the 7550. I can buy 6550s surplus for less than a hundred bucks each which is a tad over 2 for 1 last time I checked.
hey, awesome video, i'm able to do all of these edits on my xts 5k m3 uhf but the frequencies won't program, when I edit the frequency, rx or tx, it automatically reverts back to 0, did I miss something?
It looked like you programmed those radios for 151MHz. That's outside the amateur allocation. Did I miss something? (I'm not being critical, just wondering.)
Motorola Solutions is the only legitimate source. I'm unsure if it is NLA or not . The last release is astro 25 portable R20.01.00 . It is in the wild however and a quick search will point you in a direction. Thanks for watching !
Thanks for sharing this! I have an FPP 5000 but never use it. This is great info. Thanks!
You are welcome ! Thanks for watching !
@@survivalcomms I have FPP on my XTS 5000, but I have no option to program the + or - shift. They are all + on my radio. How do I get to that mode?
@@fixlungs Enter in the RX frequency and then the TX frequency There is no generic shift as there is in ham radio equipment. Thanks for watching !
Outstanding overview.
Thank you ! Thanks for watching !
Merry Christmas Big Guy.
Marry Christmas to you and yours as well !
Happy Thanksgiving, Big Guy.
Thank you and to you as well !
Is a key loader still required for AES256 or can everything be done with FPP? Just getting into the real radios. Thanks!
You need a KVL for encryption keys. Thanks for watching !
Thanks...

@@survivalcomms What makes you prefer the 6550 to the 7550? I carry a 7550E for work and am decently happy with it.

It should not be at zero - it should be at the lowest frequency of the radio's bandsplit
Yes sir thanks for the FYI I need help on my xts 5000R I am putting everything in correctly I am not able to key up the repeater
what are you programming and in what order ? Is this an amateur or commercial repeater ? Thanks for watching !

You missed the caption superimposed over the 217 that said that the frequencies were for demonstration purposes only . Thanks for watching !
Can talkgroups be programmed with fpp?
There is no trunking FPP. Thanks for watching !
What is the part number?
where can i get the software to program an xts2500?

Motorola no longer offers it. I just don't want to download a virus by just using Google. Do you know of a reliable website?
Mine doesn't say PFF it's a xts5000 model 2
Your radio will not FPP. Thanks for watching !
