Typically not but you're essentially adding a very small amount to add a lot of flavor. Sometimes with keto it's a tradeoff of using a higher-carb ingredient in moderation to add a lot of flavor to a recipe. You're welcome to skip that ingredient if you prefer. I used fresh squeezed orange juice from an orange which is pretty affordable. Don't buy a jug of orange juice just for this recipe.

I’m new to keto and don’t get me wrong all these recipes look incredible but isn’t all the butter and heavy whipping cream not really keto? Or am I missing something here?
Keto is a high-fat diet, so the heavy cream and butter definitely fall within keto standards. Butter is used a lot on keto, but you're welcome to adjust the heavy cream amounts to suit your own tastes (if you're reducing dairy intake, for example). We do have lots of other casseroles and one-pan meals that don't use dairy (or use a lot less dairy).
Okay so I made the chicken pot pies. The filling was great. The dough.. we'll didn't turn out like that lol. I used all almond flour instead of combining with coconut flour, so idk if that has something to do with it... but the dough was originally incredibly sticky and wouldn't form at all. I had to add LOTS more almond flour to get the point that it was at sll workable. And even then, it was so so so fatty. I get thats the point of keto but this was a bit much. I reserved half of it to make a pizza dough the next and added even more almond flour and it was still pretty greasy. Next time i think I'm going to double the almond flour and skip the butter altogether. You can melt mozzarella on a double boiler, or in the microwave with a dash of corn starch and a splash of milk
Coconut flour is MUCH more absorptive than almond flour so that's likely why, but this specific dough is a bit fattier than our other in the same style. You can see the other style (which should turn out the same without the butter and coconut flour) here: www.ruled.me/low-carb-pepperoni-pizza/ I personally wouldn't recommend adding corn starch and milk because that does add up in carbs pretty quick, but if you want a less fatty dough, the one above should help. It does take a little bit of practice to get used to, you have to work in the almond flour when the cheese is still hot and make sure you incorporate it well. You may have to fold it through many times over for that to happen. Then as it starts to become touchable with your hands (but still warm to hot), it should be pliable but hold its shape well. Sorry to hear it didn't work out the way you were wanting, but glad you enjoyed the filling portion.
They are 10 separate meals. If you want to check the nutrition info, we have a full breakdown of the nutrition for each recipe on the website (links are in the description).
Everything looks so good. The pot pie was awesome until I saw all that butter and cheese lol. I almost died lol Dam near fell out of my chair! 😆 If you half the butter and the cheese it will still work... The cheese sweats and has its own oils too..
I always ask a question but no one ever answered me I hope someone does here... How much are we allowed to eat in keto? For example this recipie has protein and I read we are allowed only 20 g protein! Once I tried to follow the measurement and I ended up eating only one green bean, 20 g lamb and 1 tbs butter! I didnt get satisfied at all and was too hungry later 😭 And what about mayonnaise?
Nutritional gram values are different than weight. For example, 100g chicken breast is 31g protein. The amount you eat differs from person to person. We have a calculator on our website which would help you figure out how much (and what value of fat/protein/carbs) would work best for you: www.ruled.me/keto-calculator/ If you look below the calculator, there are some links on how to track what you eat, and some general suggestions to help out.
@@leventlevent399 Like I said, check under the calculator for more info - especially the stuff on how to track your macros. There are apps that will help you with that and over time you will just get better at measuring things. An egg, for example, has around 6g protein. That means ~10 large eggs is 60g protein total.
They do but you can still use them in moderation. You're welcome to check the description for a link to the recipe where the full nutrition info is listed off. You can see the sundried tomatoes can fit into keto as long as they are used responsibly.
Just two words sum this up: YOU ROCK!! Many many thanks from all of your fans and chicken-lovers 😋 over here in Switzerland 🇨🇭 It goes without saying, that many of these dishes could be served with a nice mixed salad, riced cauli or steamed veggies. Ok ... then why did I say it 🤣 Sadly we don‘t have porkrinds over here yet, any suggestions for a substitute?
I really appreciate the kind words! Definitely - a mixed salad or steamed veggies (or sautéed veggies) make a good side in almost every dish here. For pork rinds, you can usually use a mix of almond flour and parmesan cheese as a replacement :)
The majority of my audience comes from West. The ounce measurements can be easily converted to grams and the teaspoon/tablespoon/cups are typically a common kitchen item where the majority of my audience comes from. We do have metric measurements in all of our recipes in the meal planning app we have, but are still working to transfer that over to the website's written versions of the recipes. Glad you like the video, though!
@@RuledMe 9.6 total carbs, peas and carrots. 1 carb most cheese. Big trade off of carbs for some peas and carrots. Orange juice is total sugar which kicks you out of ketosis, no matter one tablespoon or a glass full.
@@shirlymullis1699 The peas and carrots are 10.6g net carbs. 3 cups of mozzarella cheese is 12g carbs. That's between 12 servings so the peas and carrots make up less than 1g net carbs per serving. The 1 tbsp. of fresh squeezed orange juice is 2g net carbs between 4 servings (0.5g net carbs each serving). If you think a serving of any of those would knock you out of ketosis I don't know what to tell you besides that you're completely wrong 👍
There's such a small amount that it easily fits into keto macros - the cheese has more carbs than the carrots and peas combined in that recipe. Per serving, they are less than 1g net carbs each.
Sundried tomatoes come jarred in oil usually. You simply use the oil from the jar they came in. If you don't get them in a jar, just use olive oil instead.
As with most things on keto, it just depends how much you use. If you're using onion, tomatoes, carrots, and other fruits/vegetables like that to add flavor to a dish it's usually okay. If you're making the dish focused on those ingredients, it will usually be too many carbs. If you plan to use ingredients that teeter on the medium side of carb ranges, always plan the ingredients of the meal ahead of time to make sure that it can fit within your macros.
Tomatoes, sun-dried contains 258 calories per 100 g serving. One serving contains 3 g of fat, 14 g of protein and 56 g of carbohydrate. That many used in the first dish doesn't look ok to me
Howcome? Peas are around 9g net carbs per 100g. They're on the higher side of carbs, but certainly usable in some recipes for flavor/texture. As long as you plan the meal beforehand and it fits within your macros, it shouldn't be an issue. The recipe uses 1/2 cup of peas for 12 mini pot pies - that's less than 1 tablespoon of peas per pot pie. The heavy cream, almond and coconut flours, and cheese all have more total carbs contributing to that recipe than the peas.
@@thatcrazyrocklady Sure thing. They're definitely not accepted by everyone but they can fit into some recipes without much issue. You just have to be careful with using them (like with carrots, or other root vegetables) because they err on the higher carb side of things. As long as you plan the meals beforehand and the macros check out, it shouldn't be an issue :)
Looks like I've finally found someone that makes Very well seasoned food!!! All these people be making bland and plain food like wheres the spice and seasoning at? FINALLY FOUND SOMEONE THAT MAKES REAL FOOD OMG THANK YOU!!!😩😋🥰
In large amounts, they're not. But we are using around 1 tbsp. or less of carrot and peas per pot pie, so they come out to a very insignificant amount of carbs.
Dairy is a pretty big staple for people on keto: butter, heavy cream, sour cream, cream cheese, cheese. You must be new to keto - welcome! You can definitely reduce/minimize dairy, but a lot of recipes is going to use it. This is 10 recipes out of 1000+ I have on my website. If you're looking for lower amounts of dairy in recipes, feel free to check them out 👍
All the recipes have so much butter and cheese in it , Are these recipes actually going to work for a person who is desperately trying to loose weight ???
Yes, they will. Calories (macros) still matter on keto, so you would need to adjust serving sizes to fit into your macros. A lot of these recipes will need some sort of side dish in the form of a vegetable that is low in calories to accommodate it.
In the studies done, cholesterol actually goes down on keto. It's a pretty big myth that fat alone increases cholesterol. It's typically the relationship between fat and carbs that does that. You're welcome to see more here: www.ruled.me/the-ketogenic-diet-and-cholesterol/
Keto tends to have quite a lot of dairy to bulk up the fat and protein macros. We do have casseroles that do not include dairy (and other dairy-free recipes) on the website, though!
Which ones do you think are not keto? We have the full nutrition breakdown (with each individual ingredient) listed on the website. All of them definitely fit within keto standards.
@@RuledMe Peanut butter for example. People should definitely be careful around that. As well as any flour, even almond ones. As single meals, these are fine. But say I make two of these recipies, one lunch and one dinner, then I have met the daily macros VERY closely, leaving no room for breakfast. That is why people should be careful.
@@midnattbeats How do you figure that? Let's break it down: For peanut butter: I assume you are talking about the Thai Style Peanut Chicken? A 350 calorie serving is 3.9g net carbs. For almond flour: I assume you are talking about the mini chicken pot pies (which also has peas and carrots which is a big talking point for people)? This has 6g net carbs for a 450 calorie serving. Assuming you're on a 25-30g net carb regimen like most people on keto, that's less than 1/2 of your total daily net carbs. Even if you're eating 1600-1800 calories per day (which is a little higher than most people doing keto for weight loss), if you double both of those portion sizes, you're still a little under 20g net carbs for the day. That leaves you plenty of room for breakfast. Most people eat simpler/quicker meals (like eggs) for breakfast which has about half a net carb per egg. Of course you have to be careful of ingredients that can add up quickly in carbs, but you said that they are not keto at all, which I completely disagree with. Even in >600 calorie servings, they can easily fit into keto standards.
Read any of the other 20+ times I've answered that in the comments. The peas and carrots make up less carbs than the cheese in that dish. If you think that's too high in carbs, you probably should skip cheese in general in any dish. It's used as a flavoring more than a main element, so leave it out if you want. Keto is about being in ketosis and you can fit moderately higher carb vegetables into that when you use them in moderation. Just because it doesn't fit your version of keto doesn't mean it can't fit into other people's.
Yes, you're so right. 1 TABLESPOON of Orange Juice split between 4 servings (i.e. 0.4g carbs per serving) will definitely take you out of ketosis. Great deduction 👍
How much time does it takes to loose weight i am doing keto since 5 days so does my son..m chai tea loves i now a days make it with creme n not milk but i crave sugar

For example this recipie has protein and I read we are allowed only 20 g protein! Once I tried to follow the measurement and I ended up eating only one green bean, 20 g lamb and 1 tbs butter! I didnt get satisfied at all and was too hungry later 😭
And what about mayonnaise?
Nutritional gram values are different than weight. For example, 100g chicken breast is 31g protein.
The amount you eat differs from person to person. We have a calculator on our website which would help you figure out how much (and what value of fat/protein/carbs) would work best for you: www.ruled.me/keto-calculator/
If you look below the calculator, there are some links on how to track what you eat, and some general suggestions to help out.
@@RuledMe thank you so much... I have done the calculations and it says 57 g protein... I just don't understand how much chicken egg is 57!
@@leventlevent399 Like I said, check under the calculator for more info - especially the stuff on how to track your macros. There are apps that will help you with that and over time you will just get better at measuring things. An egg, for example, has around 6g protein. That means ~10 large eggs is 60g protein total.
Sun-dried tomatoes have a lot of carbs...
They do but you can still use them in moderation. You're welcome to check the description for a link to the recipe where the full nutrition info is listed off. You can see the sundried tomatoes can fit into keto as long as they are used responsibly.
you all be making this recipes but forgetting to count your calorie intake. always to count your calorie intake.
No, I list the macros of every recipe on the website. Macros are important to track on keto and I make that very clear on my website.
@@RuledMe Oki doki, I‘ll give it a try, thanks!
But is there any other alternative that I can use instead of Pork rinds because I am a Muslim and I don’t eat pork 😔
A combo of almond flour and parmesan cheese is pretty good for breading stuff with
@@RuledMe Thank you so much for the reply it really means a lot to me
Wish metric was used, you know, like most of the world uses. Otherwise great video a with great ideas.
I wish, real cooking also happened this fast, and no cleaning ...thank you
If only 😂
I really thought that I was the only one who soaked up the liquid with a paper towel.
Peas and carrots!! Hmm
There are several comments you can read where I address that - take a look. The cheese is more carbs than the peas and carrots.
Carots and peas are not keto🙄 but sure looks yummy. I’ll make it anyway! ☺️
There's such a small amount that it easily fits into keto macros - the cheese has more carbs than the carrots and peas combined in that recipe. Per serving, they are less than 1g net carbs each.
jared sun dried tomato oil? these ingredients are not easy!
Sundried tomatoes come jarred in oil usually. You simply use the oil from the jar they came in. If you don't get them in a jar, just use olive oil instead.
Sundried tomatoes are keto friendly? I mean, I LOVE tomatoes but as a fruit in Keto, I'm told to stay away from them.
That many used in the first dish doesn't look ok to me
Didn’t you show us a recipe for buffalo chicken??
Check the description for a timestamp of every recipe + a link to the written versions 👍
@@RuledMe I apologize but I don’t know what that means It’s ok I’ll figure it out the Lord will help me
@@Wats24k Best of luck!
Peas? I'm feeling conflicted
@@RuledMe ty for responding, I didnt know peas were ok but I will def make some adjustments to my other recipes, 😊
FINALLY FOUND SOMEONE THAT MAKES REAL FOOD OMG THANK YOU!!!😩😋🥰
I really appreciate the kind words - thanks so much! I hope you enjoy the recipes 😊
I thought green peas aren’t keto friendly?
In large amounts, they're not. But we are using around 1 tbsp. or less of carrot and peas per pot pie, so they come out to a very insignificant amount of carbs.
Why do most of these recipes contain bacon?
We have lots of options without bacon, just not in this specific video. We have over 1,000 recipes on the website - this is only 10.
heavy whipping cream, sour cream, cream cheese, man you love your dairy products
If you're looking for lower amounts of dairy in recipes, feel free to check them out 👍
All the recipes have so much butter and cheese in it ,
Are these recipes actually going to work for a person who is desperately trying to loose weight ???
Yes, they will. Calories (macros) still matter on keto, so you would need to adjust serving sizes to fit into your macros. A lot of these recipes will need some sort of side dish in the form of a vegetable that is low in calories to accommodate it.
1st
First thumbs up for you🤗
My diabetes would like to try this but….My cholesterol won’t
In the studies done, cholesterol actually goes down on keto. It's a pretty big myth that fat alone increases cholesterol. It's typically the relationship between fat and carbs that does that. You're welcome to see more here: www.ruled.me/the-ketogenic-diet-and-cholesterol/
We cannot include cheese in keto . Huh.
Yes you can.
@@RuledMe can you please explain? Doesn't milk and all milk products have carbs?
Yes, but keto does not mean zero carb...it means (very) low carb. Low-lactose cheese/dairy fits into that just fine.@@samiafatima3032
Why is there always cheese 😂
Keto tends to have quite a lot of dairy to bulk up the fat and protein macros. We do have casseroles that do not include dairy (and other dairy-free recipes) on the website, though!
😂
careful yall. some of these are not keto at all. Too many carbs per serving/meal
Let's break it down:
For peanut butter: I assume you are talking about the Thai Style Peanut Chicken?
Peas and carrots aren’t keto … sooo🤷♀️
Read any of the other 20+ times I've answered that in the comments. The peas and carrots make up less carbs than the cheese in that dish. If you think that's too high in carbs, you probably should skip cheese in general in any dish. It's used as a flavoring more than a main element, so leave it out if you want.
Keto is about being in ketosis and you can fit moderately higher carb vegetables into that when you use them in moderation. Just because it doesn't fit your version of keto doesn't mean it can't fit into other people's.
Uh...most of these are actually not Keto. Especially the one with the Peanut Butter mixture. 🤦 Orange Juice? Takes you out of Ketosis immediately. 🤦
Yes, you're so right. 1 TABLESPOON of Orange Juice split between 4 servings (i.e. 0.4g carbs per serving) will definitely take you out of ketosis. Great deduction 👍
Can we make peanut tortila?? Roti or chapati in india we say
It depends on the ingredients. I've never heard of a peanut tortilla.
How much time does it takes to loose weight i am doing keto since 5 days so does my son..m chai tea loves i now a days make it with creme n not milk but i crave sugar
Different people lose weight at different rates based on their starting weight, what they're eating, autoimmune conditions, etc. It's impossible to give an answer for that.
