    Great video !! Thanks for the tips about filling the hole and the stick under the trigger ... Gonna try again. Our Cairn Terrier is a great mole catcher as well .

    It's interesting to learn that the moles will use the same tunnels year after year, mole after mole. That explains what I have seen in my yard. We have gone from no moles to one mole to now this year there are moles everywhere. I've been using the spike traps and I haven't had a verified kill yet. Plus my dogs like to dig in the yard to "help out" with the mole problem. They don't seem to realize they are just making the destruction even worse.

    Thank you for the video, I used o trap until I found how well castor oil pellets work so well to keep them out they hate it and works so well. google and check it out. You can also probably make your own out of say ground up corn or something and coating with castor oil.

      Popcorn yeah I’ve used castor oil in the past. I prefer just getting rid of the problem rather than deterring it since once it’s done it’s done and I don’t have to keep fighting it

      Thank you for doing a video on this, Nick. Very useful. 👍
      Paul, you give very clear instructions/ demonstration. Thanks so much! 👌
      I need to buy one of those traps and hopefully compost our mole trespasser! ⚡️He's been making lots of new dirt mounds/tunnels lately.

    What is the problem with moles? They eat insects, but as far as I know, they don't eat plants or their roots. So what is the reason?

    • @TheYamahog12
      @TheYamahog12 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They make a mess of the lawn. I hate them.

    • @adriaan7627
      @adriaan7627 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheYamahog12 If I make a mess at your place you will kill me as well? We are with 8 billion people on this earth. We transform nature, take from the animals because we can. We are the strongest. But we can't survive without nature. And you just kill what you don't like? Because of a little mess, a hole in the ground, some little earthy mountains? You are not welcome in my house and cottage garden. You would love it and you can't even see the moles disturbances. They love my garden too.

    • @heatherlundie4099

      They ruin the lawn. My yard looks like a maze where all their tunnels are. When they dig their tunnels it kills the grass above, so I have a green lawn with dead, brown grass where all their tunnels are. They also make the yard very bumpy because the dirt sinks down into the tunnels, which makes for a very rough ride on my zero turn mower. I Tried treating the lawn for insects, but that has not worked and Ive spent hundreds of $$$ trying to do it that way.

    The new ones have a crappy spring and they don't sell the old models anymore with the good springs. Now the traps are made with aluminum and you can easily close the trap by hand, you don't even need the tool to close the traps anymore. DON'T BUY THE CURRENT VICTOR OUT O SITE MOLE TRAPS

    • @jmpestsolutions8771
      @jmpestsolutions8771 ปีที่แล้ว

      Theyre making the steel ones again. The aluminum version was a pandemic thing.

    Moles are such sweet animals. Aren't they good for the earth? You could just feed them and keep them there; not trap them with those horrible things.

  • @Johnnysday
    @Johnnysday 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    used them for 30 years. the new ones are made of aluminum from china, very cheap and worthless...

  • @takje8067

    I don't understand. Paul is talking that God makes everything for a reason. So why kill a mole? If you believe in God, then you don't kill enything.

      They can be very destructive. I have to rebuild a concrete block wall in my garden from them tunneling under it.

    • @rosecalabrese2624
      @rosecalabrese2624 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kill and eat. Thou shalt not murder. Murder & killing are two different actions.
      Also, we walk in dominion on this earth and are to steward what we have. If moles are destructive in our garden, then we can kill them. We don't let pestilence ( creatures that destroy our livelihood ) rule over us and make our lives miserable.
