    when the dog is charging you, run directly toward it and kick it as hard as you can in the throat, thereby using it's inertia against it. a well delivered kick can easily crush the animal's airway and will stop it in its tracks. this technique will be fatal to the animal, but if it comes down to me or the dog I'm walking away everytime.

      David marzolino almost any good hard kick to the chest area of the dog will do a lot of damage as they are also vulnerable to broken ribs and groin hits. What that guy in the video does is move around forcing the dog to hang on and preventing it from being able to reposition its jaws to the neck and then basically wrestle the dog using the human body weight to an advantage. Their backs are not quite flexible enough to handle bending back stretched and twisting, so there is a way to break the dogs back using your legs and a twisting motion once you have enough weight on it. The technique works against a single dog, but you are screwed against two or three but you can at least kill one before the others get you.

    • @davidmarzolino7159

      Yes two or three would be very hard to defend against, at least without weapons anyway.

      dive rolling is better than regular diving when it comes to properly breaking a fall, and keeping momentum. its easy to dive roll from static position. that demonstrating guys was more so flashy and extra. All you have to do is just forward into a pushup and bring your head to your chest before releasing your biceps to smoothly roll across your shoulders. the rest of the body does the work for you. you don't even need to be physically fit. the body travels where the head goes.

    If all else fails, jab your thumbs into both ear holes as hard as you can, like you are trying to crush the dog's skull. Sounds stupid, but it works. I saved my dog from a pitbull attack by doing this to the pit. It was mauling my dog's face. I tried everything, shouting, pulling, poking it's eyes, choking, sitting on it's back, it felt NOTHING and wouldn't stop thrashing my dog around by the head, until I remembered the ear trick, it immediately let go and walked away confused.
    My dog (she's only 16lbs) healed up just fine by the way, after a vet visit. She had something like 10 puncture wounds and a tear on her cheek that ripped the surrounding facial skin up off of the muscle. You can't tell it happened now.

    • @Riaining7
      @Riaining7 8 ปีที่แล้ว +41

      +Puppycakez good advice. Another good one is to grab with both arms under the rear legs of the aggressive animal and lift off the ground and drag away while tightly clamping your arms together. Imagine making a circle around your chest, that is how you cup both of the dogs rear legs. The dog should release immediately. Very useful for larger dogs like German sh. and rottweiler, etc. Thanks for sharing your insights. Inspired me to login just to reply to you.

      Max R That's part of it, no matter what it is, even if it's being something thrown at you, if you can't move away from the object fast enough, your best bet is to move with the object to reduce impact and if you time it correctly, you can even make the object roll off your body but if it's something that clinches on, it'll most likely hurt like hell either way but done properly there will be less damage.

      You act like this dog, (most likely a guard or police dog) isn't trained to be just as, if not more, vicious and dangerous than some peewee pitbull on the street? One is trained for fighting and mauling people, (the one in this video) , wild dogs just do it from primitive instinct.
      Which type do you think is easier to deal with? Think before you speak. Well, you might even have to think twice before you even think again, you lack common sense.

Also, I'm his owner and he stops on command, so the element of fear and panic or shock is not there at all, which makes all the difference, and helps me properly submit him.

    No kidding, I used to play wrestle with my pit bull and learned a lot about how to control a dog. It is basically same principles as jujutsu, also head control and hip control is very important in order to immobilize him. Not saying you won't get bit but it is possible to out wrestle and even choke out a dog that attacks you.

    One time I was hunting on my land and I stumbled upon two stray dogs; one of them was trotting towards me with aggressive body language so I shot him, the other ran after the first shot. But it got me to think hard about what would happen if my gun jammed, or the primer did not go off, etc. I believe I would brace for large impact in my stance, put out my left arm (least dominant) to take the first bite, and have my knife in my other hand for an immediate response upon the animal's first bite.

    At the end when they were talking about the dog’s teeth and how easily they could bite into the arm, did they say “in 10 minutes he’s gonna eat your bone”? I was attacked by a German Shepard once and I was bitten on the wrist right in that same general area they were talking about, and it was able to maintain a hold on me in that instant so the bite was only held for like a second. And in that second, my skin was ripped open and the bone was exposed. That happened in literally the blink of an eye. So to say the dog would be eating your bone in 10 minutes... way maybe in a controlled environment like this, where training is done and gear is used, maybe it would be eating your bone in 10 minutes. But in a regular dog attack scenario, assuming the dog does get the chance to make bite you there and get to your bone, it could get to your bone way, way sooner than 10 minutes.

    I have been attacked by a dog. Keep your eyes open and be prepared to fight. No matter how much it hurts. Always face the dog. Try to breath, not shallow breathing. Use something on you, a coat or purse/bag to push toward the dogs mouth. Dogs have weak spots. When it bit my hand I pushed my hand farther down its throat. All I could thing about was choking that dog. It worked. Hold your fear back as long as you can.

    • @jgedas9469
      @jgedas9469 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with you. Many people say don't look at the dog's eyes. But what saved me from having two bully dogs run toward me on a farm in NC many years ago, was to stop and look at their eyes, because I didn't have time to run and jump to the back of the truck. While looking into their eyes, moving from one to another, and taking a position like prepared to fight if they jump, kept them growling at a distance. It was a scary experience but I could not let them smell that I was in fear. When the female stopped growling I made a friendly gesture inviting her to come near until I was able to pet her head, while the male was still growling but not aggressively as before. Finally, the owner came with a rifle in his hand and kicked both dogs for not having attacked me. We were working in the area for International Paper. Later, my boss told me he had a weed plantation on his farm. I never forgot this experience but keeping calm and fighting if it was necessary was the only option I had from being attacked. So if a dogs come toward me or bark at me I stop and look deeply in their eyes.

It gave me enough time to stand up and take out my pocket knife. The dog running back angrier than before and it leaped in the air to get me, I slashed my arm out stabbing the beast in the neck killing it. I know it was brutal but we had deputies come out to the scene and it wasn’t anyone’s pet. They had other complaints from others that there was a wild dog on the lose attacking people and that was the dog. I had to kill it because the dog was going to kill me. (Sorry for my bad English)

    This self-defense looks limited to taking the dog alive and (mostly) unharmed, nonlethal control and submission.
    But I'm guessing that most non-training situations involving serious man-vs-dog confrontations are going to be quick and lethal. No time for fancy moves, just break dog's face or bite human's neck, end the fight either way.

      Unless your'e reaching over the dogs back to pull its legs apart, (which will never happen because it will be biting you) what part of your body will be directly infront of those teeth as you attempt this difficult move? Just like breaking a mans neck which is harder than it looks, more force than most people realise is required to literally tear a dogs legs out of their sockets to theoretically puncture internal organs.

    • @tickyul

      ***** I agree with you.....the scenario where you can do what I previously mentioned, is probably going to rarely happen.....but it is one area that is vulnerable. If a dog attacks my dog (severely), best believe I'm holding onto the choke until there is no more life left in the dog. If it were to mortally wound my dog, i honestly would choke it unconscious, let him wake up, then beat it to death because a choke isn't painfull enough to me to be satisfied

      I know there are so many dog attacks but they are really that prolific?
      Where did this info come from? What is curious is the breed that causes the majority of attacks that end in a human fatality....80% ! I would assume dogs deaths are even more prevalent.
      These Far outweigh all other breeds. Usually the person who dies is familial or knows the owner!
      It's Staffordshire Bull Terriers...I laugh when people tell me they are not dangerous.
      And I absolutely agree with your assessment of why you carry. But, I am more concerned with people because they use weapons but your point is well taken.

      I was severely bitten as a child. It was my own fault, reaching over the fence to pet what i thought was a "nice" dog. I learned. But I was too young to be armed and I would not have been justified to injure or kill the dog, considering he was in his own yard.
      But I have drawn down on 5 separate occasions and they decided it wasn't worth getting shot over...so they immediately retreated. I have no desire to shoot someone but believe me, I am more than ready to do so.
      You can do the math.

    i was walking down a long street back home with my little brother and my cousing who's about my age about a year ago. there were a lot of trees at the left side of the street and 20m ahead there was this cute little dog staring and barking at us and i thought fuck it i ain't walking extra 500meters just because of a dog and made the damned decision of walking towards the dog and not only that YELLING at him while walking. and then i saw 8-9 big dogs running crazy at us surrounding us from the front and back making crazy blood seeking noises. my cousing and brother somehow ran away but oh boy i could not. they tried to bite me every chance they had and i turned monkey shit mad from the adrenaline and started kicking them crazy one step ahead two steps backwards while shouting crazy like a battle cry (rofl) and i kept going backwards like a good minute till the guard at the embassy near us scared the dogs off with a fucking shovel. i almost got bitten like 4-5 times badly and if i didn't stop running at the beginning and fight, i would be mauled. i am lucky i only got 1 bite.. well its actually not a bite the fucker opened his jaws and hit me with his teeth. i got rabies shot just to make sure. TL;DR- don't run, because they can and WILL catch up to you. fight back and do crazy shit.

    • @rainmechanic
      @rainmechanic 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There is a reason dogs are our pets and not the other way around.. The greatest weapon a dog has against a human is fear.. If you have the mindset that the dog has a single weapon and you have nine plus the addition bonus of opposed thumbs and the use of hand held tools and its not even close.

    • @obbzerver
      @obbzerver 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And this "defense" is to make PETA happy, they're being careful to not hurt the animal. If that's not a consideration start smacking the shit out of their face, poke their eyes out, put a choke hold on them or grab the first leg or collar that's available and start slamming them against things like the Hulk did to Loki.

      You two idiots are living in a fantasy world.
      1. The greatest weapon a dog has is teeth, jaws and muscles that can puncture arteries, break bones and tear ligaments and muscles to shreds. You have nothing comparable to that. Wolves hamstring and break the bones of animals 10 times their weight. Animals that can kill them easily with a well placed kick. Dogs might not be as deadly, but they are not far enough behind that it makes a difference for you.
      2. They don't just use their jaw muscles to take you down, they also use their neck, back and leg muscles. And you want to pretend your DIGITS are weapons? Jesus Christ, talk about having delusions of grandeur.
      3. Try putting your fingers anywhere near the eyes of an angry dog and find out what happens.
      4. There's a reason why we use dogs not as pets, but to hunt down, incapacitate and sometimes kill other people. It's because they are faster, stronger and have far greater endurance than we do.
      In short, get some goddamn respect for dogs and what they can do to you.

      HONESTLY I THINK YOU AND rainmechanic ARE COMPLETELY WRONG. IF YOUR TALKING ABOUT A SMALL DOG THEN YOU'RE RIGHT, BUT NOT WITH A MEDIUM SIZE OR LARGE DOG. THERE'S A REASON WHY COPS USE LARGER THAN USUAL DOGS TO HUNT DOWN CRIMINALS (AND THERE NOT AMONG THE BIGGEST BREEDS). A COP DOESN'T LOOK AT A CRIMINAL RUNNING FROM THEM AND THINK "YOU KNOW WHAT?" "THAT GUY RUNNING FROM ME SEEMS TOO BIG FOR MY DOG, I RATHER NOT TAKE THE RISK OF MY DOG GETTING INJURED BY HIS BIG ARMS AND HANDS. I'M NOT GOING TO LET HIM LOSE THIS TIME". THE COP KNOWS THERE'S NO HUMAN BEING THAT CAN TAKE ON A DOG WITHOUT ANY KIND OF WEAPON IN HIS HANDS. THERE'S JUST NO WAY. I GUARANTEE YOU THE DOG IS GOING TO WIN EVERY TIME. 100%
