This is a typical example of Gojira's technique : it looks quite simple written on the paper, but really difficult to play it properly and create the dynamic/the expected effect. Especialy because of the mixt of palm mute notes + pull off notes on 5th string, and free hammer/pull off notes on 4th string...it's very technical to play it smoothly. It also requires endurance to play this technique several minutes. So Yuichi plays quite perfectly, indeed.
Gojira is also a band that really likes to give players a right forearm workout even though the scales they're playing are pretty standard metal Phrygian. They just like to do so with 32nd note tremolo picking lol.

Ok song but riff wise this was weak for gojira. This seems like something an amateur band would write only being a few years deep into learning their instruments. Nice play through tho iam not knocking you at all you are just covering a song you like.
I really love the riff and it’s so fun to play. Who cares about the difficulty? I know. Some metal heads do. But that’s not what music should be about. Imho. Do you have links to some better riffs you wrote? Or are more impressive for you? I’d like to dig more into metal.
