Steve Earle is a legend end of seriously people I have loved him for years and one cd led to another. I have seen many legends Steve is the only one that completely surpassed even his albums. If ya have never seen him please go if ya have congrats to you !
Would have loved to have seen this lineup and music on tour. Damn. Oh well. Was not meant to be... But I wish to God someone would MP3 this concert before I die. No Joke.
There's truly a lesson here, (I) we to make the very best with our choices & what we're "dealt" in life. He just flat... R-O-C-K-S! Yes, they're all havin' a BLAST!
@elirednecker I don't think this was ever made available for sale, but the entire concert has been uploaded to another video site - it is mentioned in the message below.
@IJustTouchedMyself Yes - he had to do a concert as a condition of probation, and it was broadcast by MTV. According to his biography, when he was locked up for drug charges in 1994, there was a second charge pending from a later date. By the time the second charge came to court, he was clean, and got probation. If you see the whole concert, there is a strong anti-drug message interspersed. (Look up "To Hell and Back" on vimeo.)
Seeing some old comments about where this can be purchased. It is available now. Steve released the DVD as part of a boxed set last year. www.allmusic.com/album/the-warner-bros-years-mw0002541017
@crescentfreshbret Hey mate, you are well entitled to your opinion. Clearly you love your music and I would never be one to argue your taste. Its like a good wine, particular to a certain individuals likes and dislikes. No arguments from me buddy, just damn great music!!!!
@peiper1ss I've come to realize that that's usually the case. I'm not being a jerk or anything, but I'd say that pretty much every Bob Dylan cover I've ever heard has been better than the original. I just think that Bob Dylan was a much better songwriter than performer. I'll probably incur the wrath of everyone on here for having said this.
Absolutely the best version of this tune ever, in my humble opinion !
The many faces ( and voices ) of Steve Earle!
feels like yesterday, but that was a different world
Shit hot performance...is that Custer on drums?

Beautiful.
This good from start to finish !
Mr. Earle is still...to this very day!

No Joke.
It takes a lot to laugh it takes a train to cry.

Something tells me that Steve was anxious to finish the show, get on the bus and get the hell out of there.

Just another undercover cover
Two way street talented
@peiper1ss i say it all the time....
perhaps
@Lorys0107 well, heck, my husband is so fan either, but he puts up with my devotion....what can you say? no one's perfect!! hang in there..
@jacotango the high e.
his e string could have been totally missin' & he'd still have pulled it off! hahhh! :)
My wife hates Steve Earle . I love him .
On that basis, every Dylan song is flat too as he is never in tune either!
But you are right, great song, great cover and superb drumming.
@satanasdelincuente
Read the comments- they answer your question.

Steve Earl copper head road is the best song you ever did
One of my fave Bob songs. Unfortunately, IMO, Steve mangles it here.
I don't believe he does. I adore this version more so than the original and the drumming is incredible here. Horses for courses as they say!
Live at some prison...?
Cold Creek State Pen., Tennessee
He was in there. Supposedly part of his sentence to play a show for the other inmates when he got out
his e string is flat damnit
great song otherwise
haha
his guitar is always a little out of tune
