Personally, I've never been much of a fan of 13" snare drums. But with my eyes closed I would never have guessed its diameter. A well crafted, fine sounding drum, but not exactly mind blowing given the price. Thanks for a great demo. Are those even available in the U.S.? That would put this drum in the area of $1,300 USD!
At a small bdc-event the prototype of this snare got immediate attention from several drummers as it was played in the demo kit. It really stood out and questions were asked about its specs and availability.
Sounds great. I owned a thick stave 13x7 purpleheart that never got good tone because of the knees edges. I think the thinner ply shell with 45 degree edges will bring out the dry crack of this tone wood. I would be interested in this.
Although this drum is not my cup of tea,( prefer shallower snare drums)I'm very impressed with British drum co.There desighn, inovation, and quality is top shelf. This is a drum co. That is very serious about there craft. As far as price, you get what you pay for and I don't say that lightly.Theres a lot of good drums in the market place today that I feel are very over priced.I don't feel that way about this company, there quality speaks for itself.BDC are producing some incredible drums.!!
I’ve noticed that Purpleheart wood is quite popular with a 13x7. Gary’s I Noonan made one for Ash Soan and now with Gretsch he has his own sig model. I do like The British Drum Company and this one would be my Choice I reckon, Thanks for the review
Excellent review as always. 13x7 is my long time favorite size. This model sounds so good, I might need to get one.
Wowzers.... that sounds phenomenal. And I LOVE those lugs!

That is a beautiful snare. Sounds great as well.
Lovely looking and sounding drum 👍
Fantastic sounding and beautiful looking snare drum and the man playing it is excellent! Is is it to be a Premier fan and love these drums too?

Thanks for the review
Ash’s snare is 12x7, not 13 🙂
Looks great but Jesus £899! Not convinced it sounds that great
Awesome drum, awesome company
Thank you, subscribed
Nice snare drum but those cymbals thought!
The 13x7” TAMA SLP G maple is far less expensive and sounds great.
It’s better value for the money..
Meh. Not nearly the same quality let alone lumber. The drum you speak of uses cheap Chinese soft and porous maple.
