Wow... It looks really good! I congratulate you for having that model, it's the best Saturn. I think now this great console is coming back stronger than ever! The colors and the image are so crisp and beautiful... 😍💙🙏
Hello Joe! Thank you for the video . I’m used to the Fenrir ODE for my Japanese Saturn. But I‘ll give a try to the Saroo for one of my European Sat 😁. Have wonderful end of year celebrations !
Is there any kind of downsides from using the SD game loader? Like sound distortion, random slow images or freezing? (I’m asking with no idea what so ever XP) And if you addressed this in the video, sorry, I am only hearing it while I am working.
@@Kudluck no, you're quite okay to ask, because I think I could have mentioned in the video that I've heard there are issues with some games but really in my experience so far it's been so quick to load and so smooth to run I forgot to mention it. I was actually expecting it to maybe be an experience like running GameCube games using the memory card adapter, which was choppy as heck. For me so far, on a variety of game types, this has been silky smooth. I'm very pleasantly surprised.
@@JoeBleeps @JoeBleeps Thanks for the quick reply and also thanks for your help some time (years?) ago with the GC Loader video and reply to my comment. Back then I managed to install it easily, but I don’t remember if I thanked you back then. Hope your channel keeps growing!
Hello again. One question on the Kaico. How it handles complicated games like Shinobi? I mean games with, film, 2D and 3D. A lot of adaptaters are quite lost on such games. Thank you 😊
The Saroo is ok, just be sure to update the fw to v0.6, the kaico is not good, you can not change geometry settings, timings etc, get a decent 2x line doubler like ossc or rt4k.
@@gem7303 for me the Kaico adapter is fine, the picture is good enough and I prefer a plug and play setup rather than messing around with settings, however, I am due a new OSSC soon so I'll definitely be trying it out with the same setup. As for the firmware, what's the issue with the firmware I might have on it now?
I will try that adapter but I do have my Saturn and saroo cart setup on a 21 inch crt so I can play the light gun games too. Also, my cart just has a red power light, it does not flash like yours.
The Kaico adapter is inexpensive but it's not the best way to play Saturn on a modern display, I STRONGLY suggest to get an external scaler instead such as ones sold by retrotink. As to your setup, I hope you modded it to run at 60hz as you are using a PAL saturn and the VDP clock pin is set to 50hz, you'll need to mod it to run at 60hz to properly play any games from the Japanese or US libraries.
As I mentioned and demonstrated in the video, it has a 60Hz switch installed and activated. As I also mentioned, I have an OSSC too but I like the simple plug and play nature of this adapter and was pleasantly surprised with how well it performed
In my experience, the Saroo was OK, but the Kaico line doubler was very disappointing. It seems to me that the Kaico was intended to be used with something else, and really just gives you an alternative means of connecting your Saturn to a modern TV by way of HDMI. I have a cheap no-name composite to HDMI converter from Amazon that was cheaper and is not a line doubler and it still somehow manages a cleaner picture. $9 on Amazon for that adapter. The Kaico build quality feels cheap. I'd recommend an OSSC and maybe a Marseille. You definitely get what you pay for, but really, HDMI "direct from system" soldered solutions are the way to go.

Thank you! The Saroo is a great option for preserving a working disc deive
What another great video. I've a friend who is trying to get their Saturn up and running and have foolishly passed to me to "fix" so it really timely.
The Saroo Firmware v0.6 fixes sd card problems, games with multiple audio tracks and something with game id matching.
Got the same set with a white japanese Saturn.i use the green light on the kaico

@Kudluck thank you so much! Especially for the support early on 🙏

Thank you for suggesting a good benchmark test, I'll try it today!

Why v0.6 ?
@JoeBleeps so games come on sdcard ?
17:10 one greatest games ever
@rustymixer2886 yes they do, if you choose that option, mine is the 64gb card that you can see the game lists on my screen from
8:10 makes it a sega jupiter

The satiator is the only top notch product. Saroo is not ready for prime time

The Saturn cooks socks in hell
