tip 1. read the manual/leaflet. it will show important details/shortcuts like how to turn off fps counter, quick save-quick load and all. ^^ tip2. best to put sp to quickshutdown, instead of sleep. apparently sleep drains like 6% battery every hour. so best to shutdown, it takes like 20secs or so to bootup, so... you can set the quickshutdown option in the apps thingy, can even put closing lid to shutdown, so it will quick save your current game, and when you boot it up again, it will quick load directly into the game.
@@nugudave thanks! Yes I need to find that manual haha 😂 I saw the quick shutdown setting but for now I think I prefer the game instantly coming back on with no loading time
i just subbed to ur channel, the quality of these vids is insanely good! im surprised i never saw this video on the top results when looking for this handheld. one of the best vids ive seen tbh came from the metal analogue pocket vid btw
never owned the original SP but still ended up picking this bad boy up. This form factor is a winner and I'll be picking up the miyoo flip when that releases because some games this thing can emulate are unplayable due to the lack of analog sticks
@@JoeBleeps yup, I can see how this design is nostalgic for original SP owners. From what I can tell, Anbernic did an amazing job. But I've never owned an original SP and I've always been a fan of the clamshell formfactor with any of my gaming devices. The SP is probably the most compact/portable clamshell device so I'd like a more functional device in this form factor.
@@JoeBleeps check if they’re the same, the os one at least should be blue under the kioxia(Toshiba) brand. If you have a black one with only the gb capacity in white fonts you have a cheap card and should replace that one.
Retroarch has the most complicated menus ever! Does this version support adding new cores or hiding unwanted ones? Also, strange it ships with non-functioning ROMS. Great video again - thanks👍🏻
Rome should work, choosing the proper core fixes most issues. Choosing a game with a stand alone core tho is a coin toss that’s why folk recommend avoiding the game room.
Got mine recently from Aliexpress, only took a week delivery which was great. Been using MuOS and prefer it to the stock OS as it's much simpler/cleaner. Also backed up and deleted all the stock roms and just added my favourites so it's not completely full of junk!
@@tappersreviews4677 I was quite surprised because I generally quite enjoy clicky buttons but the amount of pressure needed is just that tiny bit more than feels natural
@@JoeBleepsif you do the button tape mod like Retrogamecorps, it makes a big difference in loudness and button effort for me. It's more direct and less fatiguing
Imo, the Analogue Pocket is the ultimate GBA. The form factor of the SP, as much as I love the console, sucks. The clamshell design is great, but you need real baby hands in order to hold it comfortably for more than 5 minutes. The Pocket plays my original GBA modules, as well as GB and GBC, plus countless other systems, and the screen looks gorgeous. Not a huge Analogue fan in general, but man did they deliver with the Pocket, a.k.a. the Ultimate Gameboy Advance ^^
