    Just bought a used one. It was a toss-up between this or an Oppo Find x3 lite for the same price. The Oppo is a year newer, and in most areas it seems better on paper, but I went with my heart (a stupid thing to say about a mass-produced consumer item, I know). The Velvet seemed more solid, less plastic. And I was really liked my LG G5 - i went through two of them. For me they were very comfortable to use - very light, and the fingerprint sensor on the back was well placed and worked every time. I could just whip it out of my pocket and it unlock it before it was even in front of my face. The keyboard learning knew exactly where I was trying to put my fat sausage fingers. The camera didn't have a billion megapixels - but it took great photos that were very detailed and rich. The main selling point was the removable battery though - instead of carrying around powerbanks and cables - just have a spare battery in your pocket. And when the batteries started to give up the ghost, just get a new one for like, $15. You could keep a G5 going theoretically forever. Or until the processor starts to fry your screen at least.
    And so... that's my story on why I bought an LG Velvet.

      I got a pixel 5, and regret it. Its good and all, but i just dont like the feel of it lol. it feels like a cheap motorola phone in hand. I prefer glass backs and preminum feel(which is LG or samsung)

    I bought a Velvet a month ago to use beside my iPhone and im very happy with it. The screen is beautiful, the Snapdragon 765g is great for non-intensive graphic games. My only complaint is the camera is very bad, its noticeably worse than Galaxy S7 Edge which came out 7 years ago..

    I am a big LG fan. I love them due to the changing aspect and other compatibility features. I wish this was not curved and the fingerprint is not where I am used to. Easier as an Uber driver to have it in the back but I'm sure I can adjust. Another thing I don't like about LG in general is the updates. LG is leaving the phone game so is it worth buying if one is a fan?

    • @RealWorldReview
      @RealWorldReview  ปีที่แล้ว

      Kind of varies about where you live, but for I would say my location has 5G that’s about a 7/10, and that translates to areas that I would visit. In certain areas the 5G was very obvious and I don’t remember the signal being worse than normal lol. I would also say battery life wasn’t affected by it that much, because the chip is more efficient than the SD 765g that it comes with. Remember the TMobile one is actually different from other US models, different battery, processor and modem

    thx for the review. idk if i should go for the t mobile version because while the performance is better, it did get the Android 11 update way later than the other versions, and with LG's bad record with updates that scares me, especially because the t mobile version is the ONLY Velvet version with the Mediatek chip. I'm a die hard LG user. I'm upgrading from the G6 and thought I better just switch to something else now because the switch is inevitable. I was looking at some of the Motorola phones (stylus) but you think they're junk? I've read mixed reviews. After watching this review maybe I'll consider the Velvet. Does I'm so sad LG is getting out of phones 😥

    • @RealWorldReview
      @RealWorldReview  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The velvet is more of a flagship (which is what the G6 was supposed to be, just with the processed being a year behind) when compared to the Motorola G or One series. I love using the velvet, but that processor will start to age. With that said, if you’re still using a G6 today, the Velvet will be a perfect upgrade. I’m just not sure when they’ll stop supporting the phone update wise.

      The Velvet has a headset jack, SD card reader, and better performing processor. Screen refresh rates are better on the A33 and A53. I think the build quality is better on the Velvet, but the A33 and A53 will have better software support. To be fair though, the A series both cost more than a used Velvet. Then we are looking at a pricing low of $200 for the OnePlus 8 and $140 for the Velvet. If you can afford $200, then absolutely I would take the 8 (actually talked about how affordable that phone actually is, kind of underrated phone). Better cameras, charging system, and software experience. But this video was inspired because of the really low used pricing of the Velvet
