    you are lucky in the Canadian market this comes with rear heated seats, heated steering wheel, proximity sensors for parking front and back, HUD and cooled seats also. The last one is a bummer why Canadians have cooled seats while stateside they omitted it. Beats me… Seems some short cuts for our market..

      Kia and Hyundai both seem to be one of the few manufacturers that offer vastly different trim/features between our two countries.

    Two things I am curious about learning with this engine and transmission setup,
    1. Driving smoothness jerkiness
    2. Reliability

      @@francismartinez6049 I have a kia soul plus. Granted I haven't put much mileage on it. But the kia / hyundai are anything but disposable. I'd say given that the german lux brands' value drops like a rock, they're the disposable POS these days. Even the japanese cars with all the electronic doohickeys are a PITA when it comes to basic repairs.
      Never trusted turbos for a 250k mile long haul but who knows things are changing. Even honda turbos the heck out of everything.

      @@francismartinez6049 I don't know about disposable I think the domestic American brands are more disposable than Kia. I had a 2016 Ford escape that blew the tranny at 80,000 miles. Not only that the power transfer unit was also slowly eating itself up but that's a known issue with ford. My friend 2016 Ford focus blew It's head gasket at 40,000 mi. My 2012 Kia forte has 170,000 mi and no issues at all. I think the issue is the Kia tends to be very sensitive to neglect so if you don't do oil changes or any preventative maintenance kia will fall apart while a Toyota can power through.

    Would love to test drive the Seltos with the basic 2.0 liter. Just did a POV drive review of the Soul and was very impressed. If the 2.0 liter Seltos drives like the Soul then great. But not if the 2.0 comes with AwD.

      It's true that I haven't done any new content on this, but I also haven't had the chance to do any real mileage on it. Sitting around 4,000km right now and still on winter tires. Overall the Seltos is a great little daily driver with a lot of the features for the segment. Road noise could be better, but there's nothing I've come to hate about it over the past 6 or so months that we've had it. Would be nice if it had driver memory seats though, that's one feature I'd like to see added down the road.

    I have a question, I bought 2022 Seltos SX Turbo (blue as yours) and I noticed from day 1 that after I turned off the car, it's always making some weird sound as low-frequency beeping and a loud "click" several times before it becomes silent, the whole process took about 10-15 seconds, have you noticed the same sound as mine? if so is this sound normal?

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds somewhat normal, some cars have been doing this more than others. With our Seltos you might hear some small noises after parking especially if you’ve been driving for a while.

    Why did they use that pop up head up display?

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe it ultimately comes down to cost. A lot of the more affordable vehicles use this type of HUD, which also coincides with those being smaller cars in general. It might be due to that also, the dimensions of the dashboard and the overall angle of the windshield might play into it.

    Will you be able to share the power output of stock LED headlights of your seltos? Seems your model has three blocks of reflectors on at same time in low beam, whereas the model in India has only two slots activated at same time in low beam. I personally feel the output is very less due to some government norms, hence seeking your info to get inputs if the LED's are under-powered here in India. Wondering how they perform in wet road conditions or wide highways without lane markings.

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd love to find an accurate way to test the power/efficiency of headlights. I don't have a scientific way to do it as of now, but I'm definitely open to suggestions. I haven't had a chance to drive this at night yet since our area has been under a curfew for a little while now, but I'll see what I can do!

    What tires come with these by default? Are they considered "all season" and drivable in the winter?

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are all seasons, and we do not ever recommend driving all-season tires in the snow. You need to get winter tires for the best control, and ultimate safety. We will be doing video on this with the Seltos very shortly.

    Any one from india here?? After their failed NCAP rating test?

    • @matthewgaines10
      @matthewgaines10 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You know this North American version (SP2) is different than NCAP tested (SP2i). This SP2 version seems to have tested better according to IIHS, NHTSA, and ANCAP.
      Five Stars from ANCAP (similar to Global NCAP, same test standard but conducted in Australia)
      Good in all crashworthiness tests from IIHS (USA, Non-profit)
      Four stars frontal, five stars side, four stars roll over from NHTSA (US Government, non global standard tested, thus differenti rating scale).
      That is the tale of two Seltos. The Indian (SP2i) and Chinese models (SP2c) are more similar to each other dispite the size difference than the South Korean/Australian/North Anerican (SP2). Being that the Australian ANCAP test was five stars, you should ask Kia what did they do differently between those two versions.
      This is a Canadian (North American SP2) model and that test has little to do with the Indian verson. Again, I would ask why the SP2 Seltos for developed markets seem to have better crashworthiness than the one for developing markets (SP2i and SP2c). You won't find that answer here.
