Love the bose stereo!!! They still could do a bit better with the lighting! Still hard to notice unless pitch black. Also, o telluride I could set the interior lights and cluster stereo lights low and keep the ambient lights look brighter but now when you dim those lights it also dims the ambient lighting, so that trick doesn't work now !
We just bought this vehicle yesterday and we absolutely love it. We got the pearl white SX and it drives phenomenally it also has a great stereo the reviewer mentioned that the stereo was not that great or anything she would go out of the way for however I have owned the teleuride with the Harmon karden system and this bose system actually has a better sound in it, handles the bass much better; high mediums, and lows and it is a phenomenal system and it does not get distorted as easily as the Telluride's Harmon karden did. Also, Remember that the system will sound better over time as the tightness of the cones loosen up a bit . Space space my only complaints with this vehicle are they do not include the blind spot cameras and they do not have a front facing camera display for the driver, or the driver, they also don't have rear parking beeper's/sensors to alert you you are about to hit something however it does have a good visible camera for backing up . Space space the driving experience is is great, the 0 to 60 is very impressive for the size of the motor and the technology behind the sension with the Turbo with the dual clutch transmission actually is a great combination and once you get used to it you do not regret the setup of the DCT whatsoever.
I had problems with transfer case and transmission on my telluride and no questions asked ! Bought my vehicle with 35k on it and some body aage for 4 thousand Way from full value
That cargo cover actually is designed to be stored under the floor of the cargo area. The floor height is adjustable. If you are storing the cover it sits as shown in the video. If you want you can lower that cargo floor by 2" to give you a little more space.
Great review! Regarding the Turbo lag you mentioned, it's actually not the Turbo lag you feel but instead it's the DCT that makes it feel like you have Turbo lag. The DCTs are gentle on the clutch, and hence cause a little delay when flooring the vehicle, which people often mistake for Turbo lag.
This is super interesting and thanks for pointing this out. I'm going to research a bit more because the lag (regardless of the cause) was definitely something that was concerning to me.

FYI any Aussies watching, the top spec GT Line (we have different badging/trim level names here) comes with a full size alloy spare. In fact all the trim levels except the base model "S" come with a full size alloy spare. Bummer that it's not a full size over there. The benefit of a smaller spare is more space in the boot/trunk. Personally a full size allow spare was exactly what I was looking for. Also top spec here has drivers seat 10 way power adjust and front passenger is 8 way power adjust. And both front seats are heated and ventilated. Seems there are quite a few differences in trim contents depending on where you are.
The sunroof is a $700 option and the back cover for the tire can be moved down to fit taller things. Also, do you know if the tires are filled with regular air or with nitrogen? The Kia dealership in Reno, NV fills their tires with nitrogen for a much smoother ride. Great video!
Going to look at this car tomorrow because I've been interested in it. I'm going for the S trim and so far what I have seen, I love. Thank you so much for the video, was very helpful and gave me a few perspectives that others haven't mentioned.
Turbo lag? I think its the duel clutch auto that’s the issue, they tend to bog down a little when taking off...and the ambient lighting can be set to your music so I think the “on and off” would have been that and not a short.
Part of that lag is on purpose by designers to not encourage driving that style everytime because when that turbo hits that encourages you to seek more and stomp on gas which eats gas !
I'd like to find a way to switch the Start/Stop switch, so I don't have to turn it off everytime I start the car. I need to talk to a Kia mechanic to see if the wires on the switch can be swapped so when you start the car, you have to engage the start/stop system. I'm sorry but I don't like the engine turning off every time you come to a stop.
Lots of features to like on the Seltos. Chief among them is the extraordinary amount of cargo space in a subcompact crossover. Excellent review, Fadra. It's worth noting that the Seltos' trim levels can be somewhat confusing unless one understands KIA's approach. Most automakers offer some variation of a three step trim ladder -- a base trim with few features and a low "starting at" price, a mid-trim "volume" model, and a top trim "loaded" version. The lower trims offer individual options or "packages" that raise the MSRPs to near or over the next higher step on the ladder. KIA has a different approach with the Seltos. There are two base trims (LX and S) with identical MSRP's ($21,990.) The LX is relatively well equipped with the base 2.0L engine and standard AWD. The S comes with a long list of additional bells, whistles, and amenities with the same base engine but only with FWD. (AWD can be added as a $1500 option.) One step up on the two trim ladders are two mid-trim versions, the EX and the S Turbo. Again with near identical MSRPs. ($25,290 and $25,490.) The EX is essentially a luxury version of LX with lots of bells and whistles including a standard sunroof. The S Turbo is an upgraded "S" model with standard AWD, more powerful 1.6L engine and a DCT transmission but no sunroof option. Finally the SX Turbo consolidates the features of both the EX and the S Turbo model in a single vehicle with an MSRP of $27,890 (and an optional $700 sunroof.) In effect KIA offers consumers a choice between features, amenities, and higher levels of materials at the base trim levels or AWD in the base trim. At the mid-trim the choice is between performance (in the engine and drive train) and an even longer list of bells and whistles compared to the LX base version. And at the top trim step of each ladder is the SX Turbo that combines performance and amenities and offers an optional sunroof that's standard on the EX level. In other words two trim ladders. LX -> EX -> SX Turbo vs S -> S Turbo -> SX-Turbo. Why does KIA complicate matters in this way? The answer is largely to simplify production and avoid models sitting on dealer lots with features that fewer consumers want or are willing to pay for. On one hand it may appear that KIA is driving consumers to higher trim levels to get everything they want but at the same time it means that KIA can limit production costs and resulting prices to consumers across the entire product line.
You're correct in that Kia does do trims in a different way. (Have you see the Soul trim levels?) It's amazing how many people don't really understand what the trim level really means so I try not overwhelm people with the information. I recommend always using the build and price and comparison tools on the manufacturer's website to really understand it.
We Indians looking & Missing for the same infotainment system !! Hope KIA launch a facelift ..adds panoramic sunroof & infotainment system like international models...for INDIA ...Waiting for 2021..
There is no short in the ambient light circuit to make it blink and the settings for it are in the menu. You looked in the wrong place. The lights were set to pulse with the music from the radio. From what I heard seltos runs better with just the CVT transmission without turbo yes it's less power but they say it's more reliable and transmission works better
Reviewer really needs to read the manual or at least have a sales person describe how things work before doing a review. 1. Swipe left on main screen to get to ambient light menu. So easy! Plus read the manual how this works. 2. Educate yourself about turbo lag versus DCT operation. DCT requires a different driving style to make it drive smoothly. If you drive it like a standard automatic it can give annoying kickbacks. 3. How about describing all the safety programs, which are impressive, and also educate yourself further about how these fail in other makes of vehicles (according to reputable testers eg. IIHS). Seltos performs well/better against many premium brands. 4. You were spot on pointing out the crap door bottle holders. Kia got it so wrong!!! Can KIA management put the designers in the back seat for 8 hr/per day for the next year just inserting a range of bottles to teach them the consequences of their shockingly poor design?
I actually do quite a bit of research before I film my review. But part of my review is to focus on how intuitive some of the technology is in the vehicle. And if something isn't entirely important to me and to the review (like ambient lighting), I might not spend my time on it. The videos are quite long as it is so it's impossible to cover every aspect of the vehicle. It's also why I do a detailed blog post for every review where I can cover things in more detail. As for turbo lag vs DCT, I still can't agree with that. I've driven DCT (and many other types of transmissions) so I'm pretty experienced in that area. This was a definite lag that I would attribute to turbo lag. Thanks for your comments, though.
@@Allthingsfadra I thought you did an excellent job in reviewing. I posted previously I purchased two Seltos's this year. I currently own the SX Turbo and love it. Yes, I experienced the flash Mood lights, which I thought it was cool at first then it got annoying. So all you have to do is uncheck the "Music" setting on the mood portion of the menu.
Most people will be purchasing the non-turbo, with the CVT transmission. Since the CVT transmission has not been out long enough, it is not possible to know how reliable the CVT transmission will be.
I can't speak to Kia's CVT but I've owned other vehicles (like Nissan) and never had an issue with it. Some people absolutely hate it but I've never minded it nor had any issue with it.

If first commenter or others have a URL on how best to change driving style with a DCT, please post it.
Most people will be purchasing the non-turbo, with the CVT transmission.
Since the CVT transmission has not been out long enough, it is not possible
to know how reliable the CVT transmission will be.
I can't speak to Kia's CVT but I've owned other vehicles (like Nissan) and never had an issue with it. Some people absolutely hate it but I've never minded it nor had any issue with it.
Kia get the wireless android auto and I and I car play or whatever it's called working with the new display this should be able to be updated with software and it is not fair for the owners who pushed out extra coin for the assets get this fixed Kia!
How reliable are Kia's ?
5 years ago, reliability would have been a much bigger question with Kia. But now I have no hesitation recommending a Kia.
Sunroof is an available option
I was going to like this video until 11:37 Do a little research. You’re wasting our time......
I've noticed it's nice some manufacturers are making safety systems standard BUT they are also raising the starting MSRP on these already overpriced sub compact SUVs. Also $1125 destination? Yikes!
I’d honestly rather they raise the starting price than have people cheap out and NOT get the safety systems. But I get your point!
I am more ready for a sunroof and I will not buy until I can get a sunroof.
Good. Ignore the 2 tone paint and you can have a sunroof! Deal!
Didn’t know about how noisy the engine is,and also the cup holders but more importantly no sunroof thanks I’ll past on this on this model it’s like a teaser to get you to but the sorrento
If you’re looking at a Sorento, there isn’t really a comparison. It would honestly be between this and the Sportage (or dare I say, Soul?). This has a much lower entry point so it could be an affordable SUV. I’m still on #TeamTelluride!
The SX Turbo has an option for the sunroof at a +$700 upgrade. Can’t get that on the two-tone paint schemes that have a roof painted separate from the body. Only upgradeable for vehicles without that two-tone paint.
The Seltos EX comes with a sunroof. This is a key feature for me as well.
The is cool!
