I hope you get to see them on this tour, they're funnier than most comedians, and they actually give a shit about the songs. They were like, listening to the album good, but still all over the stage. Melvin really nailed all the solos, Jefe busted out a trombone and trumpet, it was magical
actually one of the best interviews I seen with him,he covered a lot, been my favorite band for 20fucking years, and their book is amazing I can't put it down,I actually get anxious on the way home from work to read it
I saw this video high as fuck just yesterday. Ordered the book immediately, and then forgot about it. :D It arrived just now, and i'm already laughing my ass off. Highly recommended for all NOFX fans Can't wait to see them live again. Greets from fuckin' Belgium!
It's truly special that this is your own encounter with him. Very cool that he was thoughtful enough to give you this much time of day. I'm just one of those kids that's like "...yeah, man! I was just born when they were brewing Punk in Drublic!" They've been around forever! I really didn't get an idea of who they were until I was in High School...and now they're a HUGE favorite of mine.
Even though you don't thinknyoure trying hard, you have to remember you're lifted. Your lyrics and musicians hip are a blessing on this world. I'm so glad I found you in my youth.(born 1976) mike,... your a profit and a professor. Your band has molded the minds of generations. If the millions who were brainwashed would open their minds, we are ONE!
Great interview. Early NOFX memory for me about eighteen years ago: I was a teen still living with my parents, but had a job and saved up some money. I drove to a whole different city, bought So Long And Thanks For The Shoes, and Heavy Petting Zoo, and an N64 with Super Mario 64. I played that game and collected literally every single star and secret in that game, and listened to those two albums back to back, over and over again. Good times. NOFX still rules, and Fat Mike just seems like a legit person to me. Just staying true to himself and fuck whatever anybody else thinks.
Fat Mike got on stage in El Paso, Tx in the early 90's and said he was in a shitty mood cuz he was outta pills. so I gave him a handful of valium after the show. good times
Hepatitis Bathtub is the best book I've read in a while. A modern Please Kill Me, making The Dirt pretty tame in comparison. I have to highly reccomend the audio version, because they each read their own stories, and hearing their emotions paints a beautiful shit show. I grew up with nofx, seeing them countless times and they never get old.
Sitting at Sonic, waiting for my deliciously shitty breakfast when listening to this through my car's Bluetooth audio. It didn't occur to me that my window was down (I wasn't paying attention when she showed up) and the car hop lady happened to be standing there when he was talking about his mom's porno mag. Ha.
This guy and his band are what playing is all about. Their attitude and how they look at their playing makes for the most enjoyment when playing. Ive been in bands where fucks were uptight and over the top, we need to be perfect. Then I was in bands like NOFX and it was so fucking enjoyable and worth all the effort. Fat Mike gets it and so does his bandmates. The fun those fuckers have is infectious. I'd chop off a nut to play a set with these guys.
2015 fat mike "my daughters can never read this book" 2021 fat mike "thats me when im walking with my kid when she tells me that she knows everything i did cause she just finished reading the book"
Great Stories! I'll have ask my friend if we ever saw them. The place we used to go to was $10 a show with 4 or 5 bands. I saw Murphy's Law, Plasmatics, Dead Kennedy's, Suicidal Tendencies, Slayer, Venom, And Ramones , Motorhead!
this interview is amazing. you had to wait but you surely got him in a great mood lol. Please PLEASEE upload the whole interview i will really apreciate it. Here go +1 subscriber waiting for that! cheers
You wanted it and here it is, lovely people, Fat Mike´s interview - XXL + uncut:) Enjoy... I want no complaints, you asked for it;))) th-cam.com/video/6zJLY8P_G_c/w-d-xo.html
Fat Mike is cool as hell! I met him in 1999 and he was cool to me. But my friend who had bleached hair tried to talk to him a bit after me got called a poser and was asked to let Fat Mike know how it felt to be a boy-band reject.

I saw NoFX at Red rocks but my favorite show was when I took my kids and you guys were on tour with bad religion the only thing that bought me out about the concert was the fact that my son enjoyed 303 more. But it was because he was proud to chant 303 Colorado
6:19 Mike nails it. Nobody knows. Nobody can ever know. Why not just embrace your neighbor and enjoy our time on this planet instead of throwing shrapnel at them. Peace.
Same shit happened to me. Four bags of blow. Got pulled over. Swallowed them. Got let go. Went home, put the stopper in the sink and puked until all four of em came out. Banged all four bags and listened to NOFX until the downers came. Back in the day of course.
This is how I used to talk at 4 am after a LONG night of cocaine.
He's so interesting to listen to. And I really appreciate how this is edited.
You can here the blow in his voice.
I'm a NOFX fan since 1996 and still go to their concerts.
🙋♀️
Me too
One great thing about NOFX; they never fail to make me laugh
Live. Interviews. And some songs.
I hope you get to see them on this tour, they're funnier than most comedians, and they actually give a shit about the songs. They were like, listening to the album good, but still all over the stage. Melvin really nailed all the solos, Jefe busted out a trombone and trumpet, it was magical
Coolest thing about NoFx is that they've had the same line up since 1988...
Didn't Hefe join in 93 or something?
and the worst thing is that they still suck dick
Sounds like someone needs to come out of the closet already
1991. Dave died in like 88 or something, then they had someone else for lead, then El Hefe came on board in 1991.
Technicasualty Dave is still alive. Steve was their 2nd guitarist from 88-91 and he left to join another band. El Hefe joined in 91
actually one of the best interviews I seen with him,he covered a lot, been my favorite band for 20fucking years, and their book is amazing I can't put it down,I actually get anxious on the way home from work to read it
Used to look up to this guy as a kid. Still do.

Your wish is my command;)

Thank you!
You´re very welcome:)))
One of the best interviews of Fat Mike I've ever bumped into 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
"If you're not in tune, everything sounds bad."

Fuckin rad story. Love it
Loving them since the age of 12... 28 years now. Still my favorite band!
Mike is *FLYING* in this interview.
That "whatever" at the end looked like the interviewer disagreed with his statement. Lol
Nah, he just realised he's "rambling on" to some moron who doesn't really give a fuck.
Ya know, the very people people he says are boring 😴 🙄 😆
he realized the amount of fucked up shit he was saying, and tried to back off 🤣🤣
last 30 secs of the interview are GOLD
Holy shit, that ant farm analogy, I've never thought of it like that. It does make a lot of sense though.
you aint lyin!!
Mind blowing!
I look at Fat Mike as a great artist and I look up to his style of playing. Nofx. Awesome.
Fat Mike = Cartman
Richard Koning totally
He's not a complete dipwad though. He's still a jerk but he's a good person.

Why would you not upload the full interview now?

Fat Mike is the only artist that wrote better music when sober
Ive always liked NOFX, but he is not the first guy i would take advice from
Yea first wpuld be Mike Ness from Social D, then Lars.from Rancid , maybe Henry Rollins, then Fat Mike
I think Tom Delonge once said what impressed him most was going to an NOFX concert and seeing how they just do whatever and that there are no rules.
whats the name of the book????
The hepatitis bathtub and other stories;)
Gordo Mike cada día te quiero mas. Come back to Argentina soon
