Bro needs to post again. I’m in Brazil right now and barely understand anybody. His lessons are the best I’ve seen so far here on Yt. Please Andrew we need you dawg
Glad you liked it! This series will continue on a different platform (link in description for more info), but I'll continue to make stand-alone videos focusing on a specific topic.
I have two boxes full of my dads Brazilian CDs, many of them are MPB. I’m learning more so I can understand the lyrics and speak to my family more fluently :) My biggest hurdle right now is figuring out sentence structure but I’m hoping that’ll get better with practice and immersion, thanks for the video as always!
Hi Vivian--just a quick update...setting up the website/tech related to hosting the course is taking me longer than expected...please bear with me as I work this out!
@@DecodingWordswithAndrew No pressure Andrew, when you do something for the purpose of fulfilling your passion and helping others, everything will fall in place at the right time, Best of luck getting everything sorted out!
Obrigado, professor!! Eu tenho um professor muito bom e tô animado para o resto!! Amando as aulas! Agora, eu vou practicar esses vídeos. Até próximo! ❤
Thanks, Andrew! Looking forward to diving into this. So far I’ve done the first 9 lessons, the pronunciation videos and I’ve been slowly and meticulously going through the verb crash course and am almost finished drilling the dirty dozen! I’ve also been supplementing what I’ve been learning from you by attempting to practice with Brazilians on tandem. Will the course still be coming in October?
That's great Rob! Sounds like you're really serious about this :) Since you're on the wait list, you should be getting an email from me within the next month or so about the course. It will take months for me to complete the entire volume (lessons 11 thru 25) and so it won't officially launch until around January. That said, I know people are not going to want to wait that long and so I'll be opening it up for pre-sale beginning in October. That way, you'll be able to access the lessons as I complete them (around once a week) and continue to make progress with your Portuguese.
Thanks for this series, Andrew! I’ve been dedicating time every night for around a month or so on this journey! I just finished lesson 10, the pronounciation videos as well as the complete verb crash course and will now go through the rest of the playlist. I’d love to accelerate or continue my progress daily - is there any direction in particular you’d recommend going from here at the present? or any suggestions on which order I should proceed? I know it will take some time to create the next lessons, I’m not sure if you have any additional materials currently available that you’d recommend I continue with in the meantime. Obrigado!
Did I already tell you about the FSI course? That's worth checking out, really the only resource that I would recommend as long as you can go through it with a tutor...old & boring, but still better than anything out there IMHO. Unfortunately with Brazilian Portuguese, the quality of resources is nowhere near as good as more popular languages like Spanish & French. I'm doing my best to change that though!
@@DecodingWordswithAndrewyou did! Thanks for the suggestion. I think we’ve all been spoiled by your lessons, 😂by far the most engaging and practical that I’ve come across. Would it be advisable to go through your entire playlist first and then perhaps explore the fsi course?
@@robken84 appreciate it! That’s a good idea, that way you will already have some sense of the differences between textbook vs spoken BR-PT and can recognize it when you try the FSI course
@@DecodingWordswithAndrewI still have been enjoying learning from you the best, by far! Do you have any honest thoughts on the speaking Brazilian online course? I’m still definitely going to purchase your course as soon as it available, regardless!
@@robken84 I don't know anything about it. I think when it comes to buying any course, it ultimately comes down to whether you think the free content is amazing. Because if you don't, in my experience the paid stuff usually isn't that much better. For me, I can usually get a good sense really quickly on whether I'll like someone's paid product based on how much I like their free content...it's typically a hell yes or hell no :) That said, if you end up being wrong, as long as there's a refund policy it's no big deal.
