Wow, your teaching method is just awesome, I have been trying to learn this Portuguese for years and in the first 5 minutes of this video, you have clarified so much I had been struggling with. You have a new subscriber. Thank you again!
hey! thank you so much for taking the time to put together this practice exercise! I know it takes alot of time! I would love if you created a primer on pronunciation accents for conjugations...I noticed that pronunciation is different on where to accent for conjugations, and I think I know 80% of it, but would love a primer for it!
@@DecodingWordswithAndrew l have been studying for 3 month by myself and as much as it is a beautiful language, it’s difficult. thank you for great channel!
Thanks for your efforts Please continue introducing verbs and make a video about nouns and adverbs in addition to verbs - Should we learn every new word by conjugation it? - Please introduce a suitable book for Brazilian vocabulary Thank
I don't offer classes, but I'll most likely create a course. For now, the Portuguese for beginners videos have been received really well so I'll probably go up to lesson 10.
Loving the TH-cam channel Andrew, it's definitely been helping me on my Portuguese learning journey! I was just wondering, what software you use to make these videos? They look really well done and I'm interesting in starting a youtube channel for teaching Haitian Creole in a similar format. Obrigado amigão!
That's something you can learn later on. "a gente" is more common in the spoken language and is simpler to use since it doesn't require learning a new set of conjugations. This video was meant to give you a simplified version that you could use to start having conversations right away.
I have a question, and I would be very grateful if you could answer it: When I put some verbs into Google Translate and listen to the pronunciation, it doesn't align with the way you pronounce some verbs, such as 'dorme.' Google Translate pronounces the 'r' in "dorme" just like in 'dormir,' whereas you pronounce it like the American 'r''. Additionally, Google Translate doesn't change the 'o' to an open 'o' in "dorme". Also, in "dormiu" Google Translate doesn't turn the "r' sound into "h" unlike you do. Why is that? Also, I checked it on "YouGlish" and some say it with "r" and some "h". Which one should I go with? :(
I wouldn't rely on Google Translate which uses artificial voices...YouGlish is a lot better resource to see how real people actually pronounce words. If you search YouGlish for "dorme", you'll hear people pronouncing it with a clear open 'o' sound. Regarding the 'r' in "doRmir", there are many different ways of pronouncing it depending on the accent. In SP for example, it will sound closer to the American 'r', while in Rio, it sounds more like an 'h' (not exactly but close). Just to simplify things, I'd just pronounce it the way I do....keeping in mind that BR-PT has tons of accents and different ways of pronouncing words

Muito bem. 28:57 deveria ser ""Olhe meu carro novo"" ? (imperativo?)
"olhe" é o padrão, mas "olha" é mais usado na linguagem do dia a dia. Eu explico por quê nesse vídeo th-cam.com/video/Mii9OopUePg/w-d-xo.html
