    This is the best probably. Also funfact. there is an making of for this one. They rented nearly every holonet in the world for this. This was cutting edge technology there. The Making of is called 10 Months 10 Minutes. The trophy case wasnt opening 10minutes befor the show started XD

    This is not augmented reality. This is holonet technology. You can see all the visuals in person.

    The trophy reveal @ 9:45 - 10:10 is my absolute favorite moment from all of the opening ceremonies. It just hit me so hard live, with the music, the previous world champions, everything being so perfectly mixed together. Thanks for the reaction, this opening ceremony is a highlight for sure

    This opening ceremony and the 2019 finals had more attendance and viewership than the Superbowl that year.

    fun fact they played the song pheonix but one of the teams in the finals was "fun plus pheonix" and they actually won lmao

      Even more fun is that in the video for Phoenix the professional players shown were Caps, Faker and Rookie. The top 4 teams were G2 (Caps), iG (Rookie), SKT (Faker), and the winner was the song name, Phoenix.

    Caps, the middle guy from the non asian tean, the one smiling from pure happiness is the most precious baby and needs to be protected at all costs. Just look at the pure joy on his face, priceless.

    Since no one mentioned it the history of League of Legends is Asia dominated (mainly Korea, but the 2nd best region was/is China).
    Europe were always the 3rd best region with very, very, limited success in Worlds. Europe reaching the semi finals was considered a big achievement. In the 2018 finals Fnatic (a European team) made a somewhat miracle run into the final where they got destroyed 3-0. Fnatics team and the 2nd best European team (G2) made a huge move which was that the best Fnatic player (Caps) would join the rivals G2.
    This made G2 into the first truly formiddable and scary European team.
    G2 dominated the whole season. They won both domestic league splits and MSI (an international tournament that is less significant than Worlds). They actually went into 2019 considered a top3 team in the world alongside SKT/iG.
    G2's run to the final was not super difficult.
    They were the European super team, the best we had ever had, and Worlds this year was IN EUROPE (Paris).
    G2 got destroyed 3-0 in the final in an absolute beat down.

    Love your guys reaction.
    To awnser some questions, this worlds were in Paris, and it’s accually the one they told us about in „bridging the rift“ about where fortices members were part of thr crowd.
    Also this performance of true damage giants, was the debut performance of the song. And they just released the music video on TH-cam and the skins ingame after the live performance.
    They also did the same thing with the kda Popstar song and skins ln the world performance before.

    They're using Holo screen like hologram. You should watch the BTS of this, the production is amazing. They also partnered with LV for the case

    It's probably one of my most favorite opening in all of sports and I've seen quite a lot of them. Just the sheer creativity is unmatched.

    i loved that Perkz took his country flag (Croatia) when i saw that i hoped Jankos from G2 this non asian team 2nd from the left it would be great if he took his and mine country flag (Poland) but he was talking afterwords on his stream that he was thinking about it and at the end he didnt took it

    Also personal favorite. One thing was when the second lady with the pink hair came on for the second song Pheonix, first time I watched I spent like a minute just thinking, "yo those are a NICE pair of boots she's wearing." Then I wondered wtf I'm not a foot person O_o?
    And yeah it kinda is a cultural thing. Eastern teams (China (LPL), Korea (LCK), Japan (LJL)) players 'generally' have a much more stoic and machine-like disposition. That's NOT to say that they're emotionless or without personality, but those moments in my anectdotal experience are more reserved for extra content like fun-piece interviews, bonus content, etc. On-stage or on official interview, it's stone cold business almost completely down the line...
    ...
    ...
    Korea and China are also the best regions by far. Historically and most recently Korea. EU (LEC) is the next best region, usually represented by G2 or Fnatic. NA (LCS) is the weakest of the major regions and we're ecstatic on the rare occasions our teams (usually C9) make it to semi finals. That said, we're the weakest of the 'major' regions. Our teams generally still bully and gatekeep the minor region teams like Japan, Turkey, Vietnam, etc.

    2019 was the best year in my opinion. Both the worlds and msi opening show that year were the best ever! Nothing ever even compare to it

    And as I said and you comfirmed that you knew about FNATIC I'm sure you know about G2 as well.. It's so fun to see them going back to back in the finals. :) As a FNC-boy I would have had them there instead of G2 -but whenever it goes bad for them I hope for G2. Your worst enemy makes you stronger in defeat.
    Anyhow.. this is the most impressive opening IMO but not the most exciting due to me being biased to my favorite team.. but heck this is a great one!!

    I understand there may be limited creativity, funding, etc but.....really ? The animated video was much better for Awaken. Actual people aren't as agile and dancing around with light sticks ? This was a fight scene song.. At least they didn't do like they did in the past and include the actual game playing geeks in them. They seem to just stand there usually with no clue how to fit in. At least they had good dancers and choreography

    • @DoctorNerf
      @DoctorNerf ปีที่แล้ว

      The performance is there for the 'game playing geeks'. They are the heroes, the stars, the celebrities. They're why the ceremony exists and why the stadiums are packed. Have some respect.

    • @rogerf3675
      @rogerf3675 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DoctorNerf The pageantry I understand. I myself eve played LOL at one time, but in the end, no matter all the backstories and storytelling, the game itself is a pale comparison. Merely a kill or be killed game. That there is a following I can understand as well, but It hasn't really set well with me personally how they love to try to elevate the players to god like status. They are good at one game, their qualifications are to simply have good hand eye coordination and for LOL, play well together as a team. But in 10 years no one will care or know who Faker is. And these players, no matter how good they may be at this game are nothing in comparison to the actual characters. The storyline tells of bravery, courage, skill, training, etc....these kids are only using gaming skills, plain and simple. But I do appreciate well done choreography
