I really love all the comparisons and scientific explanations, thank you so much. I've never used the Dior nail glow and used to use clear purple colored UV polish when I was younger, and even I am disappointed they changed the formula. That pinker glow is really nice.
I have the Dior and use it only once in a while because it doesn’t seem to last last very long on my nails. I was always amazed that inside it looked clear pink but outside it turned bluish. Now I know why!
For my fellow Americans : I just found the Nails Inc at Rite Aid! It looks like they dropped CND and picked up that brand. I went in for Solar Oil but they obviously don't carry the brand any more, but I lucked out in another way.
I bought the Nails inc duo as I like their polish and quality it doesn’t affect my nails which some do, it is great both work alone and layered with other polishes for custom colours.
I did compare few months ago Essence and Dior ingredients and found to be very very similar formula. I agree with the statement that the Essence one is not as shiny as I would prefer. Thank you so much for your informative videos! Keep up with great work! My nails are thanking you :)
Fantastic! I did recently purchase the Dior, but can’t imagine I would repeat due to the price (and the formula change). I really like a plain, simple polish like this though so I’m always on the hunt! It’s not a pink glow polish but I also really like the Londontown illuminating nail concealer.
I’ve tried all of the and my favorite in order is: Pink Amor Nail “gel” (Walmart) two coats, and the Essie “glow and shine” one coat and top it with a coat of Nails Inc “glowing my way.” I use very thin coats and top everything with Essie “gel setter.” I get so many compliments on people saying they look like gel, make my nails strong yet flexible, and the pink tint is beautiful.
I thought it was Pink Armor (as in protective coating, not like love or "amor")? I also prefer Pink Armor and have worn it for over a decade, along with Sally Hansen Hard as Nails natural tint.
I love comparisons 💕 I'm curious how these compare to the Le Mini Macaron - Also DazzleDry needs to come out their own glow nail polish, it will last great and have no nitrocellulose.
@dampcloth the nice thing that I really like about Dior is not just the pink tint but the glow effect. DD polishes don’t have that. Although I love DD I don’t really like these 2 colors personally. Pinkies up is too bubble gum and First Hello too purple. Both fade really really fast too They still require base and top so what Marta was saying that it would be nice to have a 1 coater that can be applied on its own that is a brightener.
Hi Anna, what a great comparisons video. I’m so happy that you made this video. 😄.When my Dior Nail Glow bottle is finished i will go for the Catrice. Thank you so much ❤
Also, if you have a nails Inc bottle, if you put your nail under the bottom on the narrow side of the bottle, you can see what the nail polish will look like in you x
I would have liked you to show us the Essie Hard to Resist on your nail even though you said it would be similar to the Essence polish. I have been applying the Essie Hard to resist weekly for approx 3 months and have no yellowing. I agree that the Dior looks beautiful but I cannot justify the cost when using this weekly. Also it seems to last the same amount of days as the Essie.
I've tried all of them except the dior one (ironic, I know, I've only tried the dupes) and my fav so far is the Catrice one, without a doubt! A bit purple-y, but the formula is amazing. The essence one was too thick for my taste :/
i tried the Essie Hard-to-Resist, and i’m disappointed. i’ve barely had my bottle for 3 months, i always store my nail products in a cool, DARK place, and the Essie lost its pinkness and is now a transparent RED. it hasn’t faded or lost saturation like the Dior does, it’s just a completely different colour. 😢
I tried my bottle recently and it left a rubbery finish on my hands even post 48hrs. I store my nail polishes under the sink, so in completely darkness 😮💨
I have the Essie version, too. I keep it secured in a dark box to avoid color degradation. I think the color does look nice on my nails, but experienced chipping at the tail end of day 2.
I bought Essence Grow'n'Glow by mistake and used it as a base nail polish coat. Some of my nails (index fingers) tend to chip and split, that decreased after I started doing that. Sharing in case that may help someone :)
I actually have used dior polish since I was like 14 or 15. I had a French gel set that was my favorite and I could tell the difference in polish quality compared to the other brands. It's alot easier to manipulate.

Thanks for the very informative comparison video! I got the original Dior Nail Glow last week after watching your video! Very happy...🌸 Too bad the formula and packaging of the new one has changed. I will consider purchasing the GLOW AND GROW NAIL GROWTH TREATMENT from NAILS INC next...
No, it is not, despite all the marketing. It's 99% plastic still. The microscopic amount of "good ingredients" like oil is.... microscopic. Pure oil will be way more beneficial. Nail polish is a decoration. For the look. Not for the heath of the nails. It can cause more damage than good. bit.ly/3tyghEd
PS. I'm not discouraging you from wearing nail polish if you like the look. Just don't think it's for health. Just like a carrot cake. It contains carrots but it's still a cake.
I don't like the effect. I think it makes my nails look weird. I have the Nails Inc one, as I like that brand. I actually got it from Amazon as part of a duo. The other one in the duo is called Glowing My Way (I think), and it's beautiful.
Hey Anna and MSL - my favorite TH-cam dynamic duo! Sunday greetings from Seattle! You know, I’m SOOO jelly over your Dior collection, particularly the original glow formula. I lacked awareness to all these cool things because I walked into one of those acrylic nail chop shops like a robot for ten years and paid attention to nothing else. Blah. I’m happy with my small collection of Dazzle Dry polishes (11 total full size bottles now), but there are 3 or 4 colors that I’ll never wear, because no matter how much I tried to evaluate the colors, I couldn’t do it in-person. I wanted to love Vigor, for instance, but I hate it. It’s soooo dark dull mucky gray with a skosh of green. Man-color. I’m hoping for them to come up with sample swatch cards to mail out or something. But yeah, I’m jealous of your Dior collection, big time 😂
As someone who isn't a professional: The brand in general yes, their nail glow seems so-so based on what others have said. Their polishes last decently. For whatever it's worth, the now late Queen Elizabeth of England only ever wore Essie's color Ballet Slippers on her nails.
@@susandougherty7675 watch the other videos on this channel for info about that, they're great! Also make sure you're not anemic, that will give you thin poor quality nails.
Many women have low iron, myself including and my nails are very healthy and resilient. Majority of issues with the nails is lack of care, excessive water exposure and surface damage from manicures etc.
I have the Nails Inc and the Catrice one. I love❤ the blue pink tone of the Nails Inc, but Catrice is a disappointment, it’s completely clear on me, it doesn’t show any color.
Hi Nicole, no, essie is not a hardener. It's just a pretty pink polish with some "marketing" ingredients that I doubt do anything beneficial for the nails.
Thank you for this video. I love this clear look and I will take a look if I can find the Cien one on Lidl here in Greece. I love Lidl but never tried anything from Cien because I thought it is bad quality or with harmful chemicals (but if it's approved by you, I would try it🙂). Have you ever tried japonese manicure P Shine? It is expensive but I love the idea of clear skinny look without any chemicals. But is it actually worth the money for this similar look?
Hello Kate, I don't recommend buffing and "shining" your nails. Please see this short video th-cam.com/users/shortsF6LTNwTSq2k PS. Non of the polishes have "harmful" chemicals. It's a marketing tactic that almost all companies use. PS. Non of them are harmful when used as directed. Also 99,9% are vegan anyways. It's like advertising fat free water. All water is fat free.
Wait... "the cap comes off" and you take it off purposely? I thought that wasn't supposed to happen! Happened to me once when I was trying to open an old polish. It was stuck so hard that I couldn't unscrew it and instead, the cap came off, just like you did in the video. Is this just the normal way to use the brush? xD
Yes we take it off on purpose because it’s very difficult to polish with such a bulky cap. But if you are comfortable polishing with a decorative cap then that’s ok too :)
@@TheSalonLife i will go the lidl here in the netherlands to see if they (still) have this Cien polish. I’ll let you know if couldt find it ore didn’t find it.
I am in Germany and i will check at my local Lidl too. I didn’t even know that they sell nail polish. Usually Catrice is my favorite drug store nail polish. I like it even better than Essie which is three times as expensive

Dazzle dry has a few sheer colours described as glazes that can be used this way. Pinkies Up is a cool tone pink and First Hello is lilac/ purple.
