I was 16 when this came out in 77. It's a great example of all the well written, sang and performed songs of my teenage years. None better than the 70s. No autotune etc., just pure talent. You had to know how to sing, play your instrument and perform or you were out. You've just touched the very tip of the iceberg of great music from the 70s and 80s.
Same, depending on what month it came out. 😁 We were lucky to live through music history. It can never happen again. Well, unless we have to start over.💣 (I can't believe there is a 💣 emoji, 👍)
A lot of younger people say they wish they lived in the 70s I was a teen in my 70dz and we had it made music whyz and tv shows movies U NAME THE MUSIC COUTRY SOUL RNB ROCK FUNK NEW WAVE And even in 1979 the best rap song i have ever heard with Rappers Delight by the Sugar hill gang AUG OF 1979
Yes Sir this song was a hit back then I remember when this came out 9 grade and I was in high school there were so many good songs back then a lot of talent
It is so sweet watching so many younger people reacting to songs I so loved when they were released. I was 24 when this was released in 1977, had owned my first home for three years, and loved so much listening to the music from the ‘70s. Thanks for sharing this. 😊
Thank you so much for not interrupting the song every 20 seconds like a lot of reviewers do Your expressions throughout the entire song, say it all, keep it up U2!!
Love this song, such a smooth, classic, sexy jam. BTW,the guitar player in red is Ronn Moss who was a long-time fixture on The Bold and the Beautiful as Ridge.
70's and 80's were the best for music. Bee Gees - PHENOMINAL! Journey, Ambrosia, Luther Vandross, George Michael, James Ingram, Earth, Wind and Fire - the list is endless! Love watching your reactions!
Great comment! Totally understand what you mean. When this first came out, I was 14, too young for a man to beg me; now I'm 61, I'm too old! But I'll always have Player.
They have another lesser known song called This time I'm in it for love. Also the bass player in the red outfit went on to play Ridge Forrester in The Bold and the Beautiful.
This is a great song. I grew up with the '60s and 70's what great years for music. I like that your open to all genres of music. I grew up with R & B but all genre's were great also, got married in 1977. Thank You 🎤🎶🫶🌟👍
Player was playaz back when some of us white soul brotha`s had some smoothness to go along with that disco ball era of the late 70`s....slide into my red patent platforms and blow dry my waves, lets go hit the dance floor everybody...love your scene King & Queen Kami...just keep on rockin & I`m certain to be near
Still a favourite to this day. Glad to see so many new fans from this generations appreciate the music I grew up listening too. There's a band from that is bringing back those ol school grooves for today's generation and they are absolutely adored in Aussie, NZ and wider Pacific region. They are one of ihf not the biggest band in NZ at the moment. L.A.B are a 5 piece band that formed in 2016 that uses other musso's from time to time (including a string and brass section) and Backing Vocalists. They bring a very versatile fusion of Soul, RnB, Funk, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Country or Reggae wrapped in our laid back Kiwi culture. Kinda reminds me of EWF, Isley Brothers, Santana, Eagles and Pink Flyod on some tracks. Their Live/Studio (Roundhead or Massey) versions are best. Here's a small cross-section of their diverse discography - In the Air My Brother Fashion Dread Yes I Do Natural Controller Under The Sun Backseat Proud Man Ain't No Use (Live @ One Love 2021) etc.
@King N Kamy Great song I know right so, check out this 1978 joint which was a hit song by the group Ambrosia called " How much I feel " I promise it won't disappoint.
Kudos, kudos, kudos to King N Kamy for NOT TALKING ALL OVER this beautiful song from 1978…99.9% of the folks that have your same format,ALWAYS WITHOUT EXCEPTION always talk all over the lyrics and stop-start, stop-start the song 5-10 butchering the song up instead of WAITING TILL THE END OF THE SONG to give their comments…I will now watch more videos that you guys rate after seeing how you do your program! Again, kudos to you both for not talking all over the song!!! You guys need to check out Bob Seger,he’s the bomb”turn the page”, “fire lake”, “night moves” just to name 3….👍👌
The guy in the red, Ronn Moss, used to play Ridge Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful and I want him to come back. I will change the lyrics to "Ridge Come Back" from now on!!😂😂
Just found your channel & since you liked this, please react to the Bee Gees TOO MUCH HEAVEN! You won't be disappointed.....plus there's lots of their fans out here!🎶
Hey guys great reaction! Great smiles as well!! This song reminds me of a girl in high school! Yes way back!:) I was in love but I was also a jack a**! :). I cried over her with this song. ( nobody knew)! Hey King, you have a super woman there and if I wasn't so old (in your eyes:)) I would challenge you for her! :) Yes God has changed my life for ever! Jesus Loves both of you! I married a woman with no spunk so that is what I always love to see! Anyway, fun song and hello from Canada!
I'm a child of the 80s but I had 3 older siblings that were in the disco era - I'm not gonna lie, THIS very song is one of my ALL-TIME favorites even though it was in the 70s because it has a groove that doesn't sound like typical "rock". A fun fact for ya'll - Ron Moss (the guy in the orange jumpsuit - ha ha) went on to being an actor on the soap opera The Bold and The Beautiful and played Ridge Forrester for many years!
If you have parents and grandparents that have been in really long term relationships please ask them about their music. I'm curious to know what you find out. If they give each other that special look when you mention certain songs. It is a good way to get to know some more of their history and opens communication lines you never thought of. They might play some of their albums for you if you ask and they still have them and share what they were up to at that time. Albums have an emotional attachment association so they might still have them.
Truly a great timeless song one of my favorite songs ever. I'm listening to music over 60 yrs..I believe they had another quite popular song tho should have been successful
Just subscribed. Loved the reaction. Took me right back to the 70s. If you haven't already, would love to see you react to Boz Scaggs' "Lowdown" or "Jo Jo". Keep on keeping on...

another band you would likely enjoy is The Average White Band their tune Pick Up The Pieces was a big hit for them. thanks for playing Player.
U won’t find any finer music than what came out of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s!
This is back when musicians put the heart, soul and talent into writing songs.

Yes! Ambrosia was another great vibe group :)

"There was something in everything about you" is one of the single best lyrics ever in a popular/rock tune. Simple but says it all.
Thank you so much for not interrupting the song every 20 seconds like a lot of reviewers do

77 was a great musical year

Great comment! Totally understand what you mean. When this first came out, I was 14, too young for a man to beg me; now I'm 61, I'm too old! But I'll always have Player.

Eagles Take It To The Limit Live at The Capital Centre 1977 TH-cam 360p. This is from the same time period with harmonies and a romantic vibe.
Indeed… Their song I Can’t Tell You Why was everything to me.

ギターのイントロだけで70年代に戻るね
As soon as I saw the young lady she reminded me of a young Donna Summers
