    I just took the plunge on a Traxxas TRX4 Bronco (2021). I love the fact that it can crawl, trail, and bash with its two gears and difflocks, plus if I want to more seriously crawl I can easily strip it down by removing parts - making a pseudo TRX sport, and add them again as required.
    Also, with the number of aftermarket parts and mods for a Traxxas, if you want to tinker with rather than just run a vehicle, it seems to be the obvious choice to me.
    Great video and advice. Thank you.

    Hi Troy
    Thank you for the good information video I have an Integy MC01 Super Class Monster Crawler Pro Kit my wife bought for me, and it sat in the storage for 10 years I decided it to build it with a limited budget. I just realized that it is an old school the kit needs 2 motors for each exile, I just got 2 Fusion SE 1800Kv try to install. The motors run in different speed I ordered the third one to try it is even worse. I have been trying to do the research about how to them run in the same rpm or speed nobody talks about it or talks about this type of kit I think this type of rc is old. My question is, is it the right motor? How to make run in the same speed? Is it worth it to build? Or what the whoile system do you recommend? Or put the kit back on shelf and buy something like RTR Redcat rock crawler?

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there!
      Sounds like you have a real challenge there!
      That chassis was made for a simple brushed setup - where they would work together.
      My honest opinion: buy a newer vehicle. Technology has moved a lot in 10 years. Although this build may be fun, the use will be limited and you will quickly find yourself wanting something newer. .
      Good luck with whatever path you choose.

    1/18th scale is the best outdoor crawlers once upgraded you can find tough lines and course ANYWHERE as they are small enough that obstacles are easy to find and they are easily just as capable as 1/10th scale

    So many out there to choose from and everyone has their opinion on what to get as their first rc.If not scale and want something more capable with loads of features at a low price point you really can’t beat a Redcat Danchee as a first crawler to see if you like the crawling scene or not. $140 gets you front wheel steer,rear wheel steer,all wheel steer and even crab walk feature.Good out of the box but with some metal beadlock wheels and a set of good aftermarket tires it’s great.

    One point that I would really like to bring up is the point that you made about the Gen. 7. It is a great handling and fun truck but even on my very basic course in the backyard the TRX4 was leaps and bounds ahead of it. My personal goal was to have one of the hottest Gen. Settings out there and I've got a lot more left to do it . Do not get a Vaterra Ascender It is very good stock however I have found that it's difficult to work on and hard to get parts for. And it seems a lot of its parts are specific to itself And its performance lacks .

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agree 100%. The Gen7 seems like a good deal on paper, but at the end of the day has some real limitations vs the competition.

      @@RoadsideRC I'd say the number one limiter is actually the body I got the pro and the big problem with that is it is an incredibly heavy body. Which gives it fantastic realism in its movements but it makes it so incredibly tipsy. I've got 4 pounds and pretty much tires due to wheelwaits and brass. And it still wobbles a little bit

    Are there any 18v kits that you could run Milwaukee batteries on?

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      18V is an odd voltage for RC.
      3S lipo = 4.2v/cell x3 cells = 12.6 when fully charged.
      4s lipo = 16.8v/cell x4 cells = 16.8 when fully charged.
      You would be looking for something like a 5S lipo compatible system....and it just doesn't really exist.
      Also - those batteries are HEAVY. And it would put that HEAVY all in the wrong place from a performance standpoint.
      Good news - crawlers are pretty easy on batteries. You can get some $20 batteries to power a crawler...and it will run on them for 1hr+, so no real reason to jump through hoops to get a different battery type to work.

      Interesting! So far, the bushings have not been a problem for me. The performance of the TRX-4M has been much better than my SCX24 ever was!

      That is actually just a rebrand of the same vehicle I show in the video - the Danchee Ridgerock.
      Fun trucks, but certainly leave some performance on the table, limits how you can crawl with others, and the ability to modify/upgrade is limited.

      @@RoadsideRC agree on the possibilities for upgrades since its a moa but many free or really cheap modes available for the chassis and swingarms, shocks and tires. For the use i give mine its unbeatable. Crawls anything at the park, small tires for indoor crawl, extremely low maintnance and till now totally reliable. Sure you cant change motors, there is no metal gears and the moa limits upgrades concerning to the main axles. also its not very scale realistic but for a beginner that jus5 wants something low maintnance to crawl i think its the best you can buy and for the price of a 1/24 scale

    dishing at the very least 350 euros for a 1/10 is not the best way to enter the crawler world...1/24 or 1/18 is the best entry gate ... these trucks are more than capable for those initial adventures upgrades and parts are cheap... if you have a problem on the truck while your out on trail , they are light to carry unlike the 1/10 that can reach 5kg or 11 pounds! for the 1/24 1/18 you can built a backyard track an indoor track or build individual obstacles and group them what ever the way you want or even buy them, these things are awsome! with the 1/10 you really have to have the space for maintenance , spaces (trails or rocks) to really enjoy them...if you live in the city that implies beside the truck parts and upgrades aditional fees in gas and or tolls to go hit those traills or rocks ...don´t get me wrong i love any kind of rc crawler but in my modest opinion diving head first in to a 1/10 is not the best way to get started!
