It's hard for younger people to get into the slowed down doo-Wop corner Street music singing groups 9f the 70's. They have style of taking a song and putting that doo-wop Street corner Harmony spin on it. This song is a break up song using the falsetto lead vocals and a man preaching and pouring out his heart. Loved seeing Enchantment in person singing this song and they have not lost a strep.
Gloria is Enchantment's signature song, this song and their song" It's you that I need", When you think of Enchantment, this song Gloria definitely comes to mind. Power song, Enchantment created a timeless classic from the name "Gloria" and sung the heak out of it. Thats when music was really music, great video.
These guys were good and too smooth and I wish that you would have played the live version. Do the groups from the 60's-70's, but your rock crowd won't vote for it.
True, Angela sometimes does theme polls, but a large percentage comes direct from Patrons, with no other votes needed. She’ll play just about anything requested. Sometimes it takes a wait, but she gets to Patreon requests eventually. 🙂👍🏼
I always hated the 2000’s term “ Boy Band” , so new school, but in the “ Old School”, we just called a group of singers “ groups” , and actual bands” bands” , groups that play instruments , Groups were The Tempations , The Spinners , Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, Gladys Knight & The Pips, The Emotions, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Sister Sledge, etc . Bands were The Ohio Players, The Isley Brothers, Earth, Wind & Fire , Klymaxx, Atlantic Star, Sly & The Family Stone, The Time, etc. The Jackson 5 could be considered both because Jermaine played bass and Tito played guitar .
Thanks for this one Angela, Enchantment was one of the best harmony groups at that time. Please check out their songs Sunshine (1976) Silly Love Song (1977). Thanks again Angela.
This was my song back in the day... this period of music is timeless, nothing like it..

WOW! Haven't heard this song in years. I remember my dad used to play this song when I was a kid.
Enchantment is a rabbit hole you should definitely explore.
I think because of the melancholy melody of the song it gives you a more sentimental feeling than sad but I was always wowed by the vocals.
Should do 70s slow jams .. that's a period of music you definitely need to hear
Heard this song on a radio station in Detroit many years ago brings back memories

As to doing this as a theme, YES PLEASE, great idea.

A very talented group and a great song
yes on the 70's boy groups!!!
Smokin. We did not call them boys. We didn't call boys, boys. It sound trivial.
So similar to The Stylistics' sound and presentation.
I agree with you
U should DEFINITELY do groups from the 70’s like the Ohio Players, BRICK, The Brothers Johnson, Parliament and plenty more…
Good vocals on this, yes maybe melancholic rather than sad. Boys v Girls-that would be interesting!
Love the Four Tops, Chi-lites, etc, Would love to hear you respond to Have You Seen Her by the Chi-lites.
Yes you should do male and female groups from the 60's 70's and 80's
Should do 70s slow jams .. that's a period of music you definitely need to hear
Definitely not putting this song in my phone…😂
Smokin ol skool slo jam . We Thought that was a girl singing.
A much better song from Enchantment is "It's You That I Need", it definitely has more emotion than this one.
Love your reactions but haven't seen you do movie reaction in a while but can you please react to Nomads (1986 ) starring Pierce Brosnan??
