  • Once again I'm up in Bonnie Scotland in the chilly cold.
This video was filmed before Christmas, a week before I broke up for the well earned break.
Theres one more video to come from this job involving the same sized cables you've seen in this video.

Not helped by the low temperature making the cables stiffer. Not that 300mm 4-cores need any help in that regard.

Yeah we tried to bend a 185 5 core into a panel with 3ft of clearance and had about 5 blew heaters on it to form the bugger. I’ve never wished for a different job more in my life than that shift

Thats why the manufacturers write down the temperatures for installing certain parts Back in the day when I did install the new halogen-free piping ( was just in the regulations by our goverment in holland ) for cables and wires it was a pain in the *** to bend them and they scattered into pieces because chilly weather (-10 Celcius). I did heat them up slightly using 1000W halogen lights to make it all work.

It was the week before the recent cold snap in Scotland. I was in London the week of the cold temperatures, the lads on site said it got down to -7 in Dunfermline 🥶🥶

Know what you mean Tony. I have messed with some 300mm 4 cores ..they have a mind of there own...You have got no chance doing anything with them through those existing holes..
Hope Monday turned out a lot better 👍👍👍

We were doing 240 and 185 4 cores last week in the cold and it was brutal, even the young lads were wrecked. Getting them on ladder without a winch or rollers is something I won't be doing again lol.

The person or persons who done the design should go to site and see these issues so they do not repeat them. This is why sometimes onsite people do day rate rather than price work because if it goes wrong you still get paid.
    Little thumbs up Ynot.

These engineers don't know the minimum bending radius of cables????

Your core strength is scary mate. Your throwing them about like they are 25s

Yeah, he's making it look too easy. Many people would struggle to even lift them.

It's odd the things your body gets used to dealing with. Im terrible at handstands😂😂😂 but pretty good at showing cables who's boss😁😁

I wonder if they make some kind of hydraulic cable bender for those big buggers? Must be tough trying to do it by hand.

Hi tony any experience on puttin 3 core 240 swa into 3 phase motors. ? Ie they dont fit 120mm from gland to term oh and the want 2 off them termed in the motor 😂😂😂

Shame you didn't have any input as they don't seem to realise the bending radius of some of these larger cables. I am also supprised that those cables were not cut off and stolen being outside.

would of been better if they put them cores in at an angle rather than straight on surely?

I have a really small one that would charge a laptop but I don't really have use for one. Everything I need can be charged via usb. I don't have a TV or a fridge.

@@jointechcabling9103 Oh ok,I thought you were running kettle and microwave etc out of your van,but yeah There not much point in Jacking power up to AC just to bring it back down to DC,plus you can do almost anything with 12VDC even boil water so all good 👍😁

I feel your pain bro armoured in that temperature is. Bitch to move.
The designers have no clue as usual with a duct that size and 300mm 4 core. Keep up the great work bro
