You’re my favorite welder on TH-cam. I pull out all your little tricks in the field and I’ve had 55 year old welders ask me where I learned that stuff 😂😂 you have shown me how to refine the craft in a very short amount of time!! You’re awesome !!
Greetings from Brazil. I’m always learning a lot with your videos and experience. Thanks a lot to pass your knowledge to us. Please, upload more videos. I would like to request a video showing how to walk the cup perfectly. I’m having some difficulties to perform this skill. Always losing the path going on zigzagging. 😞😞😞😞 And also having a lot of lack of fusion overhead and over penetration between the 3 to 12 and 9 to 12 o’clock. I will really appreciate it. Thanks a lot again and always be safe. 🇧🇷❤
Just want to say thank you for the videos, great advice and depth of knowledge, nothing can be more true about needing to burn to learn, use it or loose it - from a fitter wanting to upskill to welding
Really good as always! I started out as a fitter too, now I do both. Love seeing welders appreciate a good pipefitter which is quite uncommon these days. Your welding is on point as usual too, as the saying goes; a good welder deserves a good fitter, a bad one needs a good fitter...
Fantastic video--I think you're making the best TIG content on TH-cam right now. I teach welding at a college and I learn something, or find a better way to explain something to the students every time I watch your videos.
I was unsure what kind of welding I wanted to do after welding school. After watching your videos, I realized I wanted to TIG weld pipe. These videos are clearly explained and well filmed, and I can see the expertise you possess.
I’ve been welding sch. 10 316 for the last year now. We usually butt weld every pipe. But biggest we go is 6 inches and everything is done in an automatic rotator. I see you rotate the pipe with your filler hand. You’re not worried about putting the oxidized wire back into the root? Great video though. Love the arc shots.
I don't know how to do walk the cup. Is the head of your torch flexible or locked in place on the one you use for walk the cup? When I try walk the cup technique the flexibility in the head of my torch screws it up for me.
@@KrogunDK if you’re using a CK Worldwide head they are notorious for flexing to much. I’d go with profax, that’s what I’ve been using lately and it makes a hell of a difference man. You need something stiff enough to handle the position you put it in. It’s a lil pricey but worth it in the long run.
Looks like APMs fab spot in Genesee. I remember watching the oilers lose the cup on nights in that exact spot 2024. I just copy the way you do it and I haven't had any repairs yet.
Argon is an inert gas, meaning it does not react chemically with the metals being welded. This property helps prevent oxidation and contamination of the weld area, which is crucial for producing high-quality welds. Mostly used on stainless steel piping

Trust me, welders appreciate good fitters!
Excellent work and always inspiring. Thanks for posting.
Many thanks!
Clean 💪 I’ve never been a big fan of stainless, it’s a fun metal but very low on my list. Great video brother! Glad you got some welding going on
Thank you my friend, I hope I’ll have more welding, and create some good content 👍💪

Leaving the rod in the puddle makes a lot of sense. Never thought of that.
Yes it does

Thanks for your comment bud, oxidized tip of my filler rod is so minimal and doesn’t create any problems! Good catch though 👍

I use flex head, and you need better torch

Been welding 316L many years but never have I realised that you can up your purch flow to prevent sagging on top. Good stuff!
Those are beautiful, well done
Thank you! Cheers!
Your videos are fantastic keep up the good work
Thank you brother I appreciate that 👊
oh the irony of getting a Harris campaign ad in the middle of pipe welding video 😂
Lol,that is irony!

What shade lens do you use?
The cheapest one they have in tool crib, shade 11
How much does arc control matter on the machine?

I'm new to welding. What does it mean when your purging? I see you cover up everything and hook up a hose with some kind of gas? What gas is this?
Argon, same as feeding the torch.
@@dougtenney1029 trapping so much argon isn't this dangerous and really flammable?
@@Rubo7 Nooo. Argon is inert, like helium but way less expensive.
